I’m romanian and this last year, being stucked in my country, all I had to do was travelling in Romania. I’ve seen almost everything and I have to say that it is beautiful and 100% worth visiting. I’m wondering how many other unvisited countries are out there.

One of the coolest lesser known places I have travelled to is this small abandoned fishing town in the alps of Italy called 'Santa Isola.' Its surrounded by this stunning lake as well. I highly reccomend :)

Ive lived in Slovenia for half a year and it definitely has a lot going for it that tourists look over. You could spend 2 weeks in the country and not get bored

I love Slovenia! I went there a few years ago, and although I was only there for 2 days (went to Ljubljana and Lake Bled), it was really enjoyable. I would love to go back there and spend more time! Namibia also looks really cool. I know there are a lot of cool spots throughout the country there. Great video!
Now this is an excellent list. I think it is the first time I can genuinely say that I've only traveled to 2 on the list (Guatemala and to several islands in the Caribbean). Having traveled to almost 50 countries throughout the world myself I will say I am genuinely jealous of your travels. I think the reason why people like going to hyped places is because they know something about them and are familiar with them. I jumped at both Transylvania and Taipei because I have friends from Taiwan, and id love to visit Dracula's castle. but Slovenia for example, I wasn't that interested in because I know nothing about it. The solution therefore, is to continue learning as much as you can about other cultures and countries so your perspective gets widened.

As someone from Asia, I do not think Taiwan is an underrated country. In my knowledge, it is a pretty common tourist destination for people from this part of the world, and cities like Taipei and Kaohsiung can be jam-packed with tourists just as much as in places like urban Japan. Then again, it could be that Taiwan does not cross the minds of people outside of Asia very often. Either way, highly recommend Taiwan; the whole island nation is small enough to cover in about a week if you’re not in a rush. Absolute gem.
Hey Lexie, from your list I've only been to Sri Lanka. But I just wanted to say, that you have inspired me to travel more and also solo, once I am vaccinated. I am going on an exchange Semester in Taiwan next year and hope to explore all the wonderful things Taiwan and other south east Asian countries have to offer. But thanks to your Videos, backpacking in Central Amerika is definitely higher on my list now. I really love photography and making videos and I am thinking of filming my experiences during my exchange semester. I think it will force me to go out of my comfort zone more. I know this is biased because I am Romanian, but Romania is a very beautiful country with a lot to do. Add to that the benefit that everything is very cheap so you can travel on a budget there and get incredible experiences :)

In this video, you listed 10 underrated countries and in which Ethiopia is not one of them, but in one of your other videos you mentioned Ethiopia as “ by far my most favorite country in Africa and one of the most underrated country in the entire world”. One of the many joys of travelling is discovering something unexpected, like in Laos. From the cars parked on the sidewalks, exchanging US dollars and getting back a million in local currency, police who drive scooters and especially entering the Patuxay Monument, that you featured, to find out that it was a shopping mall inside that you had to pass through as you walked to the top. You will not be able to help yourself from smiling when you find out the history of the Monument!
Thank you Lexie for mentioning Taiwan. Even though influenced by a lot of adjacent countries, you can find something unique to Taiwan. The most famous one is bubble tea. Definitely recommend you all from Europe and America to come to Taiwan and try the genuine Taiwanese bubble tea. That’s absolutely another level compared to what you can get from the western countries.
I've visited several of these and the ones I haven't been to were high on my list before I quit traveling. You included my favorite country in South America (Bolivia), my favorite country in Central America (Guatemala, which is one of my favorite countries in the world), my favorite country in SE Asia (Laos) and one of my favorite African countries (Namibia; my favorite underrated countries in Africa would be Lesotho, Mozambique, and Algeria).
Bolivia and the Caribbean islands are definitely countries that I have been wanting to go to. And hopefully I'll be able to got to all of the other ones as well

I've been to all of your countries except Uzbekhistan (on my bucket list). At 145 countries and the age of 76 I likely won't see all 193. I wish I'd made it my objective earlier in my life. I heartily agree with your other 9 picks. Ethiopia is another good one as well as Eritrea. Malta was fun... also Syria and Yemen before all the madness. Bhutan...Dominican Republic away from the resorts. Those countries come to mind.

Central Asia is indeed the most underrated region in the world...but I selfishly want it to stay underrated so it won't lose the authenticity. Eastern Europe, slightly less underrated but ditto.

Great list. Two others are Kyrgyzstan and Ethiopia. Both are outstanding with incredible scenery. Ethiopia has unique food, culture and landscapes.

I've visited several of these and the ones I haven't been to were high on my list before I quit traveling.
