    I’ve had 5 children 4 at home. You don’t need buckets!!!!! I mean you can but water at hand like a bath is good. I had plenty of old towels and sheets to lay on floor. Lavender to burn. Salt for my bath after giving birth. And the few days after. My down below region healed in no time. I was very lucky to have those protective sheets given me, they were for my bed after as you leak a lot of blood mucus after. They did use a cardboard kidney dish to catch placenta and yes rubbish bags. I gave birth on floor squatting so we just cleaned up and threw! X

      Ah I love this comment! So no nonsense :) I was so overwhelmed by the list when it was given to me and honestly skipped a few things lol, added in the nice things just to make less clinical lol. Apart from the birthing pool we don't have a bath so the buckets will be useful, salt in bath is a great one too! Wow 4 home births, that is so cool!

      Fertility Homeopath yes and different each time but more natural much calmer and after it’s all over in your own bed to rest up with bubba! I honestly didn’t need lots of bits I’d say the old sheets towels to cover floor essential, and the huge pads essential, and the padded sheets for your bed defo. Just for first day or two. A onesie with opening front (zip/buttons) good to slip on after birth too. With fluffy socks Just to get comfy and easy access to breast. As you get cold after as body is a little shocked xxxx

    Watching from America and I’m SHOCKED that your insurance covers all of this!!!! Insurance in America rarely covers home birth and when they do, I still think the moms have to pay out of pocket for their birth kits! We just spent $200+ on our kit and we still have to pay our midwife $4k 😳

      Things are SO different in the US for sure... its pretty special the way things still are here, but then the research and statistics of healthy and live births supports it. You are incredible for making this financial sacrifice!!

    I am allergic to wool. May have to improvise there. Interesting to hear how Netherlands differs from America. I am glad home birthing is growing exponentially here though due to crazy Covid restrictions. Mothers should never go through birth with their face covered or be separated from their baby! I think they are awakening to what birth is really about.

    Thanks for sharing! Just got my birth kit from my midwife, as for the menstrual pads... I felt the same about some generic bleached pad but.... the pads she gave me were specific to make sure I wasn't bleeding through one within 1/2 hour. She wanted me to use those specific ones as a means of measurement to make sure there is no hemorrhaging. I imagine after a few days or a week I will switch to natural maternity pads, or cloth ones

    I am 17 weeks pregnant now and I wholeheartedly want a Homebirth! I am having trouble finding midwives in my area, Sacramento, California; it’s making me so sad. I fear I might have to go to a birthing center, or worse...a hospital. In the case that I do find a midwife, this video was very helpful.

    • @FertilityHomeopath
      @FertilityHomeopath  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I hope you find a midwife too!! So sorry it's so hard for you to find one. Have you tried finding one through a doula? And congratulations on 17 weeks! Yay so excited for you!!! And if you end up needing to go to a birth centre or even a hospital make sure to get yourself a doula as an advocate for you and read Ina May's guide to childbirth if you haven't already. Preparation will make all the difference. I have shot parts of a video on how I prepare for natural childbirth which you may like and that should go up soon if baby doesn't decide to come early!

    That was indeed interesting! I have never hear about this Tens before!
    I have seen a ton of videos about "essentials for birth", home of hospital, of course mostly from UK and USA, and yours was so different! I guess many of those things in other countries the midwives bring with them instead or people just don't give much focus on...
    I am 33 weeks now. I will give birth in the "birth center" part of my hospital, if everything goes fine with the natural birth. :) I had also the option in my country for a home birth, but I leave in an apartment with a lot of neighbors to hear me making noises, I just would not feel comfortable myself... :D

    • @FertilityHomeopath
      @FertilityHomeopath  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! That's why I thought it would be fun to do this video as I agree I hadn't seen anything like these items. Where do you live? Birthing centre sounds wonderful too, you're closing in on your due date too huh! Yeah I'm a little concerned for my neighbours too lol but 1 is often gone and the other seems a bit deaf 😂 TENS is apparently fantastic if I have to believe my patients... and I do 😁

    the many pads are for anything you might need for a mess...on a yoga ball, on all fours, literally anywhere you are laboring bc you keep leaking after the membranes have been ruptured. It would be kind of icky to sit in that and then the spread of bacteria would increase if you are moving around a lot (which you tend to do bc it keeps your mind busy)

    This was an exciting video thank you for posting. This is cool to see that ins companies actually send stuff for home birth. I'm going to check mine and see if they encourage home birth but I'm in th he U.S. so we don't hear much about it. I was curious how you will use the herb and salt mixture in the plastic bin? Will you keep the herbs loose? Or find something to steep them in first then sit?

    Have been researching while ttc and there are only 2 midwifes in my area in Germany who do home births. Germany f*cked up because of the extremely expensive insurances midwifes have to have now. Maybe soon there will be no free midwifes anymore and you have to go to the hospital. Well, at least every pregnant woman has the right of having a midwife (even if you are having an early misscarriage right now) for free through health insurance. Yay for mandatory health insurance!
