    It really works, i used the built to birth course mindful meditation and it made my first labour and birth experience go so well. Not once did I feel the need for any medication and it was almost as though this method acted as a painkiller in its own way. Amazing!! I’m so grateful for this guide to be available to everyone and thank you Bridget for helping me achieve a natural birth experience. 💓

      @@TheDragonforcesDepending on what the staff are like, you might be able to ask for them to adjust the environment to your liking, I'm sure most would oblige. I feel like when you are focused on using mindfulness meditation, you are in the zone and tend to push out your surroundings to concentrate.

    I listened to your mantras during my first labor, now im 30 weeks pregnant with my second and im excited to meditate during my contractions again. I labored literally laying and swaying in the bath and listening to your voice on a Bluetooth speaker. No meditation does not take away the pain but it does help you understand that contractions = progression. I felt primitive and like i could of given birth behind a bush in the forest. I was made for this. We all were made for this.

    This really does work! I listened to your affirmation meditations during my naps from near the beginning of my pregnancy. I also read Ina Gaskin’s books, Birth Without Fear, + the Positive Birthing Company’s book to inform myself about birth...removing fear of the unknown. My first birth was so pain-free, I was in denial I was even pushing until my doula arrived at my home + informed me my baby’s head was coming out. I had a 5 hour total labor + it seemed so fast. I never felt the need for medical help; I intended to have a birth clinic birth with my midwives + ended up having my baby in my bathtub. I was definitely in “labor land”, because I didn’t even know I was doing this, but I was told by my midwives that I was telling myself out loud how amazing I was as I was pushing! Those months of affirmations really helped me. The magical experience of using affirmations gave me literally the most empowering physical experience of my life. I relive that dreamy birth frequently + can’t wait to have another baby. I also use affirmations in lots of other ways now during stressful situations.

    Hypnobirthing 100% uses guided meditation and affirmations but it is much more than that. A good quality hypnobirthing course would include full birth preparation (breathing techniques, natural comfort measures, the role of the birth partner, labour and birth positions, the stages of labour, how to deal with contractions, how to have a positive plan B, the induction of labour and how to have a positive cesarean birth). Love your channel Bridget. Big fan of course :) Love, Anja xxx

    Im due November 2022 and will have a natural home water birth. At first I was nervous because everyone I told about my birth plan would throw their fear at me so I started doubting my decision. But then I did my research, watched The Business of Being Born and watched many home water births and realized I was fearless and had to block everyone else’s opinions as this was my story not theirs. I’m very excited to give birth and found my support system for this journey. My husband, my mom and my childhood best friend! We’re all very excited for this experience!

    This does! I did hypnobirthing practices during my 2nd pregnancy. I basically felt & breath through my waves I'd say about 2 hrs. Got to the hospital and baby was born 10 mins after I was admitted to the checking room (not even got to the labour/ birthing room).

  • @goldielikes3
    @goldielikes3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thank you for this succinct and thorough explanation! I practiced hypnobirthing with my first birth and it was amazing. I never felt out of control, never raised my voice past a deep moan (slightly more as I pushed baby out, which lasted 12 minutes). Yes the sensations were INTENSE but the association I made between them and knowing exactly what was happening in my body (I notified my midwife that I was going through transition) and the bigger picture of what the point of these sensations were all positive! I was completely relaxed and surrendered to it.
    Of course I prepared for this marathon for months. Hypnobirthing, read tons of books on natural childbirth (Ina May’s is a must), watched positive natural birth stories (my son was born in a tub at a birth center), prenatal yoga, stayed active, ate healthy, red raspberry leaf tea and dates in 3rd trimester, as well as Epi-No (I didn’t tear:). Now doing same for baby 2 (6 months pregnant 🌸
    I would love to try your meditations, as I really appreciate all your videos and insight. Thanks again! 🥰

    • @goldielikes3
      @goldielikes3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stephanieblanco7055 congratulations! Hypnobirthing works with your subconscious mind. The first part of it must include learning exactly what happens in your body during labor and birth. I did that through an online natural birth course as well as in person class with my midwife, and most importantly, through reading. The Hypnobirthing Book by Katherine Graves is great, along side with Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth and Childbirth Without Fear - that is the trifecta I recommend to pregnant mamas. The second part is learning how to use your breath through contractions and in labor in general, and the third is listening to the affirmations. Some mamas start around 30 weeks. I start around 20. I listened at night in bed. You can fall asleep to them; it doesn’t matter because they work through your subconscious. During my labor I listened to the affirmations along with chanting tracks I did as well throughout my pregnancy during my meditation (in fact, even while I pushed him out, the affirmations were playing). They helped to keep me calm and connected to my body; it was a spiritual experience. The entire scene was serene; dim lights, people spoke in low voices only, my tracks playing, candles lit. All of that is so important. Just like all mammals, we need to feel safe and secure to labor productively. And even when the tracks were not playing, I was in such a zone from the many weeks of listening to them on a daily basis. My midwife later told me, “You had no fear. Absolutely no fear.” And that I attribute to knowing what my body was doing and trusting it, this natural process, in God and the Universe, in my birth team. So I was able to surrender.
      I highly recommend Hypnobirthing to all mamas, regardless of where they plan on having their birth.
      Hope this helps! Pls feel free to ask any other questions 💗

      @@goldielikes3 Thank you for such an insightful response. I know that tension, and later fear stalled my first home birth.
      In prep for this pregnancy, I started seeing the chiropractor as soon as I found out I was expecting. I went back to my midwife. She recommended a pelvic exam by the 28th week with a physical therapist who gave me a home program. It's things like doing pelvic rocks, stretching hamstrings, and piston breathing. I am also taking the Bradley Method class, which has mostly been review up until now that we're getting into the labor relaxation/birth planning. My instructor advised that I choose a physical relaxation exercise with my coach, so massage or stroking with hubby. Then a mental one that would work for me, like writing my birth story. I have access to an online Spinning Babies Parenting Class (thanks to a dear friend). I started playing Christian hypnobirthing affirmations. I'll be subscribing to that app. I hired a doula. Most importantly, I've been asking the Lady Theotokos for her help and trying to make peace with whatever will come.
      I wanted to list these out to help anyone else out there, as you've done for me.

      @@stephanieblanco7055 you’re doing everything right, mama! You will have the birth of your dreams 🌟
      Absolutely, prenatal chiro is so important. Spinning Babies is also key to ensuring baby’s position is just right for a smooth delivery.
      I highly recommend the book the Birth Partner. My husband is rereading it now. It really primed him for what to expect in a very easy to understand way (funny story: he was so ready to coach me through transition, as the book explains how to do, expecting me to get discouraged, to say, “I can’t do this” or something like that, possibly panic. He was geared up! And he later told me jokingly that I didn’t stick to the script; I was way too calm during transition and said nothing except, “I’m going through transition” matter-of-factly right after I threw up. ;)
      Also don’t forget about eating dates and drinking raspberry leaf tea later on in third trimester! Research it. It works to prepare your cervix.
      And please keep me updated! 🥰

    I had my first baby at 41, unmedicated home birth & if it wasn't for Hypnobirthing & my amazing midwife Anita I KNOW FOR A FACT I would have lost my shit, panicked & ended up at the hospital. Because of Hypnobirthing I went from broken water at 4am to pulling my baby out of the water at 10am & had minimal tearing & only got those because I started pushing instead of letting my body naturally push my dude out. If you want a amazing birth you need to do the work. You get the result directly proportionate to the work you do. Listen to the meditations every single night, do the work, read the book. What do you have to do that's more important?

      Usually if you know your baby is breech it will limit your options to give birth outside the hospital. Birthing centers are very strict about who they admit and breech baby is a disqualification. Hospitals are quick to do c sections when baby is breech as well.

    I have been having a hard time finding unmedicated labor resources that will be helpful to me
    I have a history of precipitous labor (from dilated to 6 and irregular contractions to baby in 1 hr 15 mins). This led to not receiving the epidural as planned. This time, I don't want the epidural. I liked being able to stand and move after labor too much
    But, all of these birthing tips revolve around average 10 hr+ labors. Contractions that come in waves. Things that I didn't experience and most likely won't experience this time
    I need tips to take charge when the staff are losing their cool. How to breathe through contractions that are continuous, not coming in waves. Tips for partner to effectively intercede if they break my waters without my knowledge or consent again during rapid contractions. Videos that coach partner to kniw how to help prevent me from being physically restrained into the lithotomy position as the staff panic again
    How to deal with the fetal ejection reflex. How to cope with the pain of placental delivery as the adrenaline and it's pain relieving effects are gone and the shakes and blood pressure drop come on
    Lots and lots of resources exist for long prodromal labors, and for long labors in general. But not finding much to help those of us with precipitous birth histories. No help for pregnant people who not only might like to have unmedicated births, but are unlikely to even have the option of medication

      Sounds like you have a lot of anxiety from your first birth. My first was about 5 hours of labor. It was a natural hospital birth without epidural as planned through hypnobirthing expect her course and resources weren’t available. I used other resources. I just had my second and it was less than 2 hours start to finish, no medications, and no tearing. Let me know if you want to chat?
