I'd argue the game is a better cinematic experience than a movie could ever be. There's just no way to convey the level of badassery when someone else does it, games are unique in that they let you, the player, feel the challenge, the growth, the mastery, and in the end, the journey that is unique to you.

I like that the younger version, the less experienced version, of the protagonist is kind of slower, has a more choreographed fighting style, uses brute force, rather than technique; but then the older version of himself suddenly is more experienced, and you can see that he moves quicker, moves more fluidly, has a more elegant fighting style and he uses more redirecting, like using weapons against an assailant rather than a direct attack style.

Christopher Clark Cowan is the one who directed this and the guy is exceptional. He's come a long way from short fight sequences and Naruto live action on TH-cam way back in the day. From his other short films (e.g. My Hero Academia: UA:LA) to major motion pictures (action direction on movies like Wonder Woman and Shang-Chi), it's obvious he understands and respects the source material, and has the vision to translate action, martial arts, and anime to the screen. Glad he's getting more respect on his name. The next time Netflix or Hollywood want to adapt anime or gaming culture to live action...put Cowan in the director's chair.
