I just put 16 inch fmb blazed apes on my scout bobber about a month ago. pain in the ass but i love riding the bike now. to get the wires through my bars i had to take off most of the sleeves around the wires so they could slide through. running the wires through the bars was by far the hardest part of the whole project.
pretty cool! My softail slim had the hollywood handle bar set-up but I switched to mini apes as well, definitely improved the handling and because they were narrower lane splitting was also easier. great job Ricky!
Bars to look better. I remember the aggervation of trying to run wires inside bars when i did my Z bars. Problem with mine was they were used and already had old wires in there that I had to take out and some of the protection came off inside of the bars. Was able to get it out but still wasn't fun running the wires through there.
Nice. Hi from TX. I really want to get mini apes or at least risers so I’ll have a more upright comfortable riding position for longer rides, so this was helpful.
Those handle bars most definitely suit the Scout and probably feel a whole lot more comfortable to ride. You didn't give us an angle shot on what the bike looks like now. Next upload I guess 👍
Awesome video! I've been wanting to do the same thing. Same handlebars, same '21 Scout Bobber ABS, so this video came in clutch! Thank you. Sorry if I missed it in the vid, but did you have to bleed out your brakes?
I did bleed the brakes. I didn't mention it, though. The front brake line was new, so I bleed the brakes, put new lines, and added dot 4. I decided to make it more or a " tips" video. Things i found out. Instead of a how-to. But each step could have been a video by itself. Like bleeding brakes, changing clutch cable, removing tank, etc. I can answer anything having to do with the process if you need, though
@Texas Riding I bought mine directly through Barnett. These bars are 10" so I ordered for the Scout twenty. I unfortunately don't know what length that is. But if you can research the length of those and ad 2 inches you should be alright. They might have an actual phone number to call and ask.
@@RickyBobber agreed with you here. I have the Bobber Twenty and the clutch cable leaves NO room to spare even for 2" higher bars. The ABS brake line on the other hand should have enough extra room to go 12" and replacing the clutch cable appears to be easier than the brake line so that's good.
I don't ride an Indian, but I just randomly came across your video, and I wanted to watch your installation. Maybe you can get the heated grip wiring in, if you tape them really tightly to the other wires, then use dishwashing soap in your bars. Also, it would look better, if you switched your mirrors. I don't know why the company would "metric" their mirrors. Harley mirrors have the narrow ends facing outward. Indians aren't metric bikes, just like Harleys aren't. I hope you get a refund or exchange on those blinkers.
Skip to @14:49 for my pros and cons of having higher bars over the stock bars. Thanks for watching!
This isn’t the Mayhem mini apes is it ?
@@liljfunk21 10" Blaze
would have loved to see what the complete bike looked like with the new handlebars on it.

I just put 8 inch bars on my bobber a couple of days ago and they look sweet!
Nice!
Which brand did ya buy and where did you purchase them? Thanks.
Fmb choppers. I bought them directly from their website
I agree my stock bars would have me laying over my tank. I just got the 8 mini apes and I like them over my stocks 100%
That’s works- I like the ride angle on my rogue- I feel more in control
Really nice upgrade-

I agree. I did the same thing. The sleeves came off after many failed attempts. Thank you for watching

Thank man! Its way more comfortable. Thank you for watching 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bars look good. Definitely will look better with the cover.
I agree.
Bars looks nice 👍
Thanks for the help! Ride safe.
No problem! Thanks for watching

Oh dang. Thats worse. Thanks for watching, man
Did you consider just repinning the wires instead of reconnecting the old ones?
Not sure what you're asking.

Hey what's up?! I know you! These are much more comfortable. Thanks for watching
Friggin sick looking!! Good job man.🔥🔥
Thanks man!
They look good man, glad you finally got rid of the taco bars
Thanks man. 😆 I never felt taco'y tho. Maybe I'm not tall enough.

You're right! They're not going anywhere, though. Thanks for watching 👊🏼
Here you go man. Snapped a pic on my lunch break www.dropbox.com/s/m3hap38tfuly478/20230419_105959.jpg?dl=0

Did you have to get adapters for the bar end mirrors, or will the stock ones bolt right up?
Stock ones fit
When you see your name passing by on a TH-cam vid😂❤. Thank you for the shout out, the bars look really nice
Thanks for all the help, man!
Very nice video...... 👏👏👏👏
If you ever need an 2 hands let me know. 👍👍
Thanks homie👊🏼 might take you up on that
@Ricky Bobber Moto Of course. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
They do make the bike look cooler, even if they were a PITA to install with all the blinkers and all
Thanks man. I do think these look better than stock from the rider position. Thanks for watching mang!
@@RickyBobber 😎🤙🏼
Do you think bobber twenty 10" bar clutch cable will work with 12" mercenary bars ?
No. These fit with hardly anything to spare
But I could be wrong. Barnett amd magnum sells custom lengths

@Texas Riding no not at all. What did it say?

Hey why are cars passing you?
Because everyone here goes 90. You know that😆

I think it was just too much wire for the bars honestly. I did end up getting a refund on the signals. Thanks for watching man
