  • I was completely fascinated by the breathtaking view of multiple craters from above during my first flight to Jeddah, awakened my curiosity about the origins of these natural marvels - whether they were formed by meteorites impacts or volcanic eruptions.
After delving into the intriguing history of these craters, and visiting the area, Al Wahba stands as the largest and deepest volcanic crater in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with dimensions stretching over 2000m in diameter and plunging to depths of over 250m, it is undoubtedly one of the nation’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders, but not the unique, nestled in the western region, approximately 250 km (+2,5 hour drive) from Taif or about 320 km (four hour drive) from Jeddah.
During our visit a kindly staff at the visitor centre told us: walk around, take images and sleep in the area is fine but descending down is not allowed at this time, due the gases inside the crater
Truly, the grandeur of nature knows no bounds! 🌋✈️ #AlWabahCrater #tracking #NaturalWonder
