When it comes to op powerscaling, the only level that really makes sense are the marine positions with Garp alone being a massive outlier. Pirate powerscaling is all over the place though.

I feel like you didn't argue against levels rather you argued their is variance and overlap in the levels. For example warlords are generally weaker than yc1 but then you have Mihawk who shows the variance. Much like the warlords where we started with croc and moria, and made our way to jinbe, Hancock, and Doflamingo, before finally getting into the yc. I think we will slowly get into the power cliffing you talked about where we see the top of the range. Starting with katakuri and ending with Ben Beckman.
I just find it strange to categorize people as the same lvl when there strengths vary a ton to the point where they can literally shit on the person that supposedly the same lvl based on ranks, like yc1 for example.

The reason these levels work is because of all the warlords. Buggy,croc, Moriah, Hancock, law at the time,jinbei, at the time, Doflamingo, Blackbeard, Mihawk, and I'll leave out the mystery whitebeard kid.
Most of them can't compete with. Katakuri,king, Marco,queen,cracker, Zoro current, Sanji current,
I think the only ones that could would be able to compete above from the warlords would be Mihawk, and Blackbeard pre timeskip. But all the rest would get folded. And that's why levels work. Because the vast majority get folded
Idk about anything below but I'm almost certain that there is no "Pirate King level" over "Yonko level". The latter is just insulting since some people actually think that Roger and Primebeard would simply beat current Shanks or Kaido with ease. Idc if they beat the latter, but no way it will be easy!

The real question is how tf did the Marines find Ryokugyu and Fujitora? I’m assuming they already had their devil fruits before since they are both super skilled with them. Even if they didn’t they are still super strong without their devil fruits which means the Marines just found two random top tiers chilling on some random island undetected for all of their life.

This is what I’ve been thinking for a while. Commanders became way to broad in their power for individual tiers like YC3-YC1. At best you have a commander range. And the power creep is just going to continue. Like what happened in Wano, I wouldn’t be shocked if by feats down the line characters like Shanks, Dragon, especially Imu and Luffy end up low diffing characters like Kaido in hindsight.

Unfortunately I'm gonna have to disagree, unlike how many believe, oda actually knows how to write a story. He's not gonna make endgame characters much stronger than kaido. No character in one piece will ever low diff kaido.

Of course power levels exist, the tiers exist (yonko, admiral, yc1,...) it's just that a character isn't necessary the same strenght that his tier is, just like mihawk who slams your favorite character (not papazuki) but he is a yonko commander.

Of course there are exceptions like big meme and sanji, but generally speaking that's the scale.
For the yonko commanders is a bit tricky because we don't have a lot of showing of them except the yc1's, but surely they aren't touching admirals, except for zoro/benn/shiryu who i think will be other exceptions and become admiral level.
Power levels exist to an extent but aren’t anywhere near as important as people think they are

Not that power levels dont exist, its that its not as clear cut as most other series where a character's powers, training and experience actually matter from an opponent to opponent basis such as Luffy and Enel or Magellan and Mr.3, two confrontations that would normally be completely one sided became more complicated due to the direct advantage one power had over another
I think Yonko level has a lot of merit. The original 4 are implied to be on a similar level of power. Kaido and Big Mom are portrayed as equals based on statements. Hell they straight up fought. Shanks and WB clashed and split the sky as did BM and Kaido. The act of splitting the sky would be used as an indicator for Luffy reaching that level of power.
By the end of the series the only yonko that will be "yonko level" are Kaido and Big mom. Shanks, Black Beard and Luffy will all be stronger

Now sanji is the Monster of science and we are currently on the most scientifically advanced island in one piece. And saturn one of the 5 elders was given the title of "Godhead of science and defence"
Both luffy unlocked conqeors when when trying to free those they cared about against some of the strongest during the time for luffy - the marines and zoro - kaido.

With that said I think it's incredibly obvious they're preparing for a sort of War that will force the grand Fleet to unite. Due to the way stories work the opponent(s) of the straw hat Grand Fleet will either be equal in strength or more likely greater in strength.
With that said you may be able to quantify the strength of the straw hat Grand Fleet and I think you will find it is so powerful that there are very few options of candidates who could stand up against such Incredible strength. The fact that there would be very few candidates capable of rivaling the straw hat Grand Fleet would mean you have a pretty good crystal ball for the future. See what opponents could match the power level to rival the grand Fleet

Power levels can be very useful if used correctly.
When I talk about Yc1, I am referencing Marco, king, and katakuri. All of them are above queen(in my opinion)who I use for yc2 level. The other yc2 are really hard to scale. And queen is above the third commanders that we have seen.
I don’t view the vice captains as first commanders and they have varying levels of power so they aren’t included in that level.
For yonko level I use the original yonko who are all near each other in power. And I think the admirals are all relative other than akainu who is the fleet admiral.
The problems aren’t only start when people think the level is based on the title when it’s really based on the strength of certain people that held it. But if you’re talking specifically about levels in terms of the title then your correct that they don’t exist.

I mean using these terms like commander level, warlord level, admiral level serve as a decent basis but people take it as something too set in stone, it's kinda like bounties you can use it to scale somewhat but a lot of times it not an accurate representation of one's strength. There's always just too many variables in certain instances. Not all Yonkou are built the same BM (trash) is clearly weaker than Kaidou and Shanks. Mihawk was always miles ahead of the other warlord, Akainu was always clearly the top admiral.

People need to realize Oda is one of the greatest world builder and storytellers in history however he is not a power scaler. He writes compelling narratives about ideas and people not individuals power dynamics. Power creep is inevitable with a 20+ year battle manga. Look at crocodile or kaku you will instantly see it.

This is false. Oda pays close attention to powerscaling but always applies context to fights. The problem is, the community is absolutely filled with low IQ takes so anything out of context is used to make objectively false powerscaling statements.

Beautiful work take on YC1 level, but I think your take on Yonko level is a bit miss guided. Being a Yonko is both about power and influence. Buggy is an exception because of the narrative of the story. He has Mihawk and crocodile in his crew, he has level 6 escapees, currently only one providing business on the black market, and he was on rogers crew. The government really believes he is strong.
admiral level and Yonko level do exist but Yonko commander is defined by those that follow the Yonko and they vary. So, right now while Yonko commander level is talking people from snack all the way to king, we have to include Mihawk because he is technically a Yonko commander. However, as viewers we know he is either at or above Yonko level or Admiral level

Agreed with the general premise but disagree about Marco. The logic you used for Sabo is the same as Marco. His fights have been Admirals, Yonko, and a 1v2. He forced Kizaru out of the sky with brute strength and sent Aokiji flying with a basic kick. His clash with Big Mom created a large scale shockwave literally the same as when Kaido and Big Mom clashed
He met Big Mom in chapter 992 and took no damage throughout the fight which is why she was asking for outside assistance. She even runs away after he K.O.ed all her souls. The idea he has bad AP is reliant on flawed premises like needing to see blood all the time or needing characters to be put out in a few moves and the assumption that he has used his strongest techniques. Marco is clearly one of the most powerful characters in the verse which makes sense he was the right hand of the former strongest man in the world (Whitebeard chapter 234)

i dont think yc3,yc2,yc1,yc+ levels are bad. for example,sanji is yc2 but that doesnt mean he is yc level,he would be put along with the other yc+ characters like yamato,zoro,law,kidd ect. Same for everyone else,akainu is fleet admiral but also yonko level whilst buggy is yonko but HIM level,or big mom being low yonko or high admiral level.

I dont mind yc3 yc2 in naming as long you have clear definition on who is on that level. If I define yc1 as someone relative to King, only someone like Marco is yc1. Zoro would be above while Katakuri below.

Big Mom and Queen get downplayed because of their portrayal and feats compared to King and Kaido I noticed, more "gag" characters, Sanji too. While Zolo gets more hype
