Doesn’t matter how many fodder he took on, Luffy and Yamato were the only character that he properly fought, and Yamato did nothing. Zoro, Law, and Kid did as much damage as Apoo and Ulti did to Luffy, almost none.

Titles are just reflections of a specific time. Just because someone has a title doesn't mean that they're definitively what that title says or that the title still applies. WB was indeed the strongest man once upon a time but his age caught up to him, bro was on a drip. My opinion in regard to titles, is that Oda will show us how strong the characters are when they actually do something.
In the original Japanese, Kaidou’s title is 最強の生物 (Saikyou no seibutsu), which is translated as strongest creature, but in Japanese the meaning is very clear. 生物 (pronounced seibutsu) is literally “living thing” 生(life)物(thing), so this would definitely include humans. My personal theory is that the phrasing “people often say that he is the strongest” serves to hype him up as the one that is viewed as the next strongest creature / living thing after Whitebeard died and that kind of title became vacant. Kaidou could have been considered to be the strongest by the world after Whitebeard died whether or not it was true.
But ain’t kaido the strongest creature while Wb was alive? They still portrayed Wb as stronger than him. Which I find weird if kaido title is refering to everyone.

I agree with your point that the world’s perception has a lot to do with these titles, kind of like how bounties are the world government’s perception of threat level. And remember in chapter 1046 Kaido tells Luffy that "THERE IS NO ONE IN THIS WORLD CAPABLE OF TAKING ME DOWN" meaning rumours put aside, he believed himself to be the strongest even though he met and probably clashed with Shanks 2 years ago. Also before his defeat in the hands of the Bajrang Gun he has a short flashback where he tells King (Alber) that Joyboy is the one who will beat him one day to which King replies; "THEN WE'LL NEVER SEE HIM'' implying King at least viewed Kaido as invincible at that point. If at the moment at which Luffy defeated him, he wasn't the strongest then it takes a little bit to Luffy's victory because there was that narrative of Luffy defeating that invincible monster no one else could take down except for Joyboy. The only characters in my opinion who can be stronger than Kaido going forward are Blackbeard (Because he still has room to grow and is the final obstacle to Luffy becoming Pirate King) and Imu (As they are the final obstacle Luffy will face before bringing the DAWN) Mihawk, Shanks, Akainu, Dragon etc don't have any narrative reason to be stronger than Kaido at this point in the story given that G5 is Luffy's peak and he needed that to defeat the King of Beasts. Creating too much characters above that ceiling would push Oda to create more Power Ups for Luffy which isn't really necessary after G5
Oda hasn't even written a reason to question Mihawk's title and was very careful in how he handled Whitebeard's title and the world finding out he ain't the same guy he used to be.

Yeah I've always hated how people try to take the titles at face value ignoring the context on them for the sake of discrediting characters like Mihawk and Whitebeard. You couldn't have said it any better. As far as the world knew WB was still deserving of his title as world's strongest. It's why everyone of MF was so shocked at how much WB wasn't like his former self. Kaidou is called "creature" because he's literally an Oni who is also the world's strongest Zoan. That Kaidou is called ''king of beasts'' and that his crew are called the beast pirates, being zoan DF users, shows how the WG views him as the strongest creature for those reasons. So Kaidou's title doesn't conflict with WB's at all. And Mihawk like you said is the most straightforward; it can't be that all this time Zoro was chasing a false dream and should have been chasing after Shanks for the title instead. That would just be terrible writing.
I think something that others don’t realize as well is since Mihawk title is so concrete as it is bound to zoro, any and I do mean any swordsman feat in the verse… Mihawk can do better examples: oden/zoro scar kaido adds to wss hype,s-hawk reshaping Amazon lily adds to Mihawk hype,shanks using divine departure on Kidd Mihawk can do it better, ryuma slayed a dragon potentially with a black blade and yet Mihawk has a supreme blade a whole tier over ryuma blade. The list goes on and on and yet people don’t realize that with all the hype oda gives swordsmen Mihawk and Mihawk alone sits at the top.

@@SuperiorI.Q Whitebeard’s title being outdated makes perfect sense when you consider that Whitebeard was off his meds at Marineford for the purpose of not letting the world know how far he had declined. If it was a well known fact that Whitebeard wasn’t nearly as powerful as in his prime he probably wouldn’t retain the title.
Kaido's title of strongest creature is supposed to serve as a one up from wb's title not alslo be a limited title. example whitebeard was the strongest man and since as the average man is stronger than the average woman this meant he was basically considered to be the strongest human being. However the title is limited to only humans. Kaido's on the other hand is called creature because it is supposed to be a blanket term that encompasses every single living thing on the planet. Which is literally why the narrator says: "Land, sea and air, out of every living thing in the world". If his title doesnt include humans then it can be argued that it doesnt include fishmen, merfolk or giants either, seeing as they are all very simillar to humans, especially giants, thus making kaido's title very limited and at that point oda could have just simply reffered to him as the strongest man just like he did for whitebeard. The creature not including humans arguement is a terrible one especially when 99% of top tiers in the series are humans, so who would we be comparing kaido to? cats and dogs?

He says only a few are CAPABLE of fighting him, which from the phrasing he is putting himself over everyone one else including the people on the list. it makes zero sense to say someone who is stronger than you is "capable" of fighting you. Thats like me saying lebron is capable of taking me on in a basket ball game, like no he would whoop my ass. The question would be am I capable of taking him on not the other way around. 3. Kaido has everything that wb and roger did plus more. all 3 haki types a very power devil fruit much much better durability and endurance 4. and as much as no one likes to admit this, there is actually no proof that wb or roger is actually stronger than Kaido, his feats are way better and he is stronger until proven otherwise. 5. Lastly Oda loves to keep top tier and rival power levels ambiguous. for example Mihawk is the strongest swordsman and he chose to say he has greater skill than shanks in crossguild intro chapter, knowing how people would react to that and basically giving shanks stans a dose of copium to hold on to. He could have easily said strength or power but he chose not to. also the fact that kaido is stated to be the strongest creature and he has better feats however wb is stated to have the power to destroy the world and bigmom said EVEN whitebeard when she was talking about taking down the other yonko with elbaf's might.Then you have other statements like in sbs 83 where oda says "a mother is the strongest living being, even stronger than kaido". which just makes the whole thing confusing.
The only thing is though that who had the previous worlds strongest creature title? I think kaido is the strongest makes sense. He fought luffy after taking BM on for a few days. Taking hits from the 9 scabbards (only one hit that mattered but still). Ultimates from Zoro, Killer,Kid,Law and a whole fight against Yamato. (a bite from Momonosuke for the gesture). All while carrying a giant Island. I don't think we will get feats above that until a bit. And well if something goes him, then that thing becomes the strongest.

One thing to note that WB title is strongest MALE and NOT strongest HUMAN based on japanese. Kaido's title is applicable to ALL LIVING THINGS based on japanese so include human. Also WB title contradicts Kaido's so to break the contradiction one must either assume that WB definition of strongest is different from Kaido. Or just say Kaido's title is legit after WB death.

Kaido is still the World's Strongest Creature if you don't put humans in that category. He doesn't need to be the strongest character since he's not an endgame player, just a stepping stone for Luffy to become an emperor. The likes of Shanks, Mihawk, Akainu, Dragon, Imu and Blackbeard (when he fights Luffy) will probably have abilties above what we see from Kaido and Big Mom. There's no reason to doubt Mihawk's title since he's tied to a Straw Hat dream, and Whitebeard was likely the strongest man in his youth because of the reputation as being an equal to Roger.
Oda uses these titles and events to create hype among readers…. Quite ingenious tbh. This allows him to take the story forward however he wants. For example, Luffy’s future could say something like “He went head to head against all 3 admirals and survived at marineford”. But we know what really happened. Similarly, any incidents that are just mentioned, like Rocks, Kaido being strongest and god valley must have come about due to much different circumstances than what we imagine

For creatures, just use Japanese man. Humans are included, this just isn't debatable. His title more literally translates to "strongest living thing of the world." No matter what feelings you have about the title - I'm not saying it's true or anything - it does include humans, saying otherwise is simply incorrect and is a result of the translation. Edit: And in response to one of your replies to a similar comment - Kaido was stronger than WB in a 1v1 undoubtedly in a vacuum, but WB was a bigger threat because his crew had a bigger presence in the world. Additionally, WB was supposedly capable of destroying the world, which clearly is a much larger threat than being able to beat anyone in a 1v1. Also, I think it was pretty clear from Kaido's introduction that he was supposed to be on another level. That being said, he was also pretty depressed and always drunk. I do not think titles are the end-all be-all in One Piece, but Kaido's title objectively and undisputably includes humans.
Kaido definitely proved his title true and had to get nerfed and had Luffy do a whole god lvl awakening on him and Kaido still worked him to near defeat again. Meanwhile, the man with "the power to destroy the world" can't even cause anything other than some tsunamis snd eqs which btw don't even do anything to stop the yonko like Luffy, BM or Kaido. From the recent chapters the weapon used to destroy Lulusia seems to have an actually powerful quake that can be felt atleast across multiple islands. G5 also lives up to its title

Dude titles are given by the general public recognizing them that way so that means intimidation factor is honestly more important than power. Let's not forget the title Enel had 💀. Titles mean very little other than letting readers know the general public recognizes this individual.
My main problem with the titles is, who gives these titles to these people in the One Piece World? For instance WB being the worlds strongest man. Throught the eyes of the One Piece world it makes sense. The dude can fight on par with Roger has earthquake powers that can destroy the world and is a 20ft+ giant monster. If I had to pick between him and Roger on who is stronger, as a citizen of the OP world, I would pick WB over Roger, based on that information. But can we trust that title if the public gives it to him? We don't know if he ever beat Roger. So unless we get to see Roger lose to WB or Roger admits that WB is stronger, how do I know that title is undisputable from an in world perspective. The only other way other than Roger saying WB is stronger is if a big character like Garp or Sengoku or someone else important said that WB beat Roger back in the day. The same with Mihawk. He has his title. But who gave him that title? Or I should say, who did he beat to gain this title? If he hasn't fought anyone worthwhile as a swordsman since Shanks more than a decade ago and he has been known as the WSS for quite some time now, does it mean he got that title after his duels with Shanks. But the thing is, we don't know the results of those duels. Also if he got the title after beating Shanks, does that mean that a Young Shanks was the WSS, before Mihawk. There is a line from Marineford, where Vista hypes up Mihawk and say that he is assumed as the WSS. I don't know if that line is in the manga. It's so weird.

I love how Mihawk fans will hold onto his title til death while titles are only given by Big News Morgan/WG. Titles aren’t immortal until death, it is a title given by Government. NOT TO MENTION, it has been YEARS since his title was given, which can easily have been overtaken throughout those years. NOT TO MENTION, he declined a titled challenge TWICE, which should’ve had his title revoked. In any titled sport, if the champion denies the challenge, his title is therefore revoked and the other is the new champion. All of this points to his title not meaning much. The only last argument that is left is then what is the point of Zoro’s dream? His dream is to become WSS, not to defeat Mihawk. He will defeat Mihawk, and he will defeat other strong swordsman, and Big News Morgan will name him the new WSS, it doesn’t have to mean that Mihawk is the final marker. With all this said, the only thing Mihawk still has going for him is his Black Blade. If he were to fight Shanks, he’d even not have his Observation haki.

Mihawk has that title because titles are given just like bounties, by Big News Morgan. Whatever Big News Morgan says goes. He got that title years ago and has yet to actually challenge someone that could give him a real fight since his last duel with Shanks. He since had declined challenges with him and hasn’t had his title tested. Just because he got the WSS title years ago doesn’t mean he is and will always be WSS until Zoro comes along. He can still defeat Mihawk and become WSS, he will likely defeat Mihawk, maybe Garling, maybe Gorosei Ethan? (I think it’s Ethan that is a swordsman) and maybe even Shanks. Kaido is the single strongest living being as far as the world knows. It could hypothetically be that Shanks, Mihawk, Dragon or other people simply don't go around exerting their power, while Kaido was extremely violent, but literally noone has singlehandedly beaten Kaido. Primebeard was the world's strongest man, but now he simply has the title because he used to have it and noone had beaten him or seen how weak he had gotten (relatively) . About zoros goal I think luffys goal overrides zoros goal and everyone else in the crew. I think zoro beats mihawk then gets the "worlds strongest swordsman" title going into the final war to help luffy become the pirate king and the story ends with luffy, zoro and the rest of the strawhats fighting stronger people and zoro fighting a stronger swordsman than mihawk(god kights and gorosei and imu). This may be a hot take, but there's so much proof to suggest WB was stronger than Rodger. We know WB didn't care about being Pirate King. Oda put that there to say that he could have become pirate king if he wanted to. I believe there's even a line, I forget who says it, but it's that WB was someone who stood next to the throne but never chose to sit on it (something to that effect). There's a reason WB was still considered the world's strongest when Rodger was alive. WB was said to have the power to destroy the world by Sengoku. He made both Roger and Shanks have the better charisma and portrayal but secretly their shadows; Mihawk to Shanks and WB to Roger - were the secretly stronger ones out of the pair of duos. Let me give my purest opinion Out of the 3 strongest title, Kaido title is what majority of fandom tries to debunked and make it out like it just a rumor or fake. His title is just as legit as Whitebeard and Mihawk title. Oda personally refer Kaido as world strongest couple times in SBS, the manga also mentioned not only once. No other character as been quoted like Kaido this and that. And about Kaido title *"doesn't include human"* .....this is also pure cope. Japan doesn't clarify creature and human, all are under the category of "Seibutsu" ( living organisms/beings). Yujiro hanma is also called World Strongest Creature. Yes WB was the Strongest man/strongest pirate at his peak not old. This no question. Out of all these, Mihawk does look the most underwhelming and questionable as per feats and portrayal. Shanks who you guys considered weaker due to world title got far more better feats and portrayal. If you don't know about Mihawk title you'd think Shanks and Mihawk are several tiers apart lol. But the problem here is although shanks use sword and has some skills in using it, he doesn't focus on his swordsmanship's as his main power, it's like saying that garp is for example the strongest boxer in one piece because he use his fist only, that doesn't mean he can beat the egghead's gear 5 (Idk just an example) because luffy also just punch and kick but that's not how his power works he has a DF which boost him so much. in matter of swordsmanship it depends on the style and the skills of a sword user (attack, defense, dodge and faking moves, speed and tricks all using the sword) while shanks is more than that he is an advanced conqueror haki expert, even without sword he'll probably just lose 30% or less from his full power meanwhile shanks without a sword or knife or whatever sharp tool he may lose closer to half his power even if he's a conqueror user as he should for the seek of the end fight between him and Zoro, in terms of swords only even Zoro and Vista are stronger than shanks in my opinion if mihawk die right now one of them will immediately take the title not shanks, but yet these two can't defeat shanks because swordsmanship is far from enough when conqueror kicks in if you don't have a close amount of haki to the opponent you want be able to harm them even if they let you hit directly.

Now you have a databook that tells you that whitebeard was the strongest even during Roger's time. Strongest Creature refer to him being a dragon, a dragon is the strongest creature on land, sea and air (notice that kaido is a devil fruit users, he can't move in the sea) what this means is the dragon aspect of kaido. Strongest swordsman, pretty self explanatory, you got a sword you're weaker than mihawk and yes that includes shanks. Strongest man also pretty self explanatory, as whitebeard said you can't keep being the strongest forever. magazine volume 9 says kaido is a human being and marco says hes an ogre. Kaido being a hybrid between ogre and human is whats more consistent and has no contradictions.
Power creep will happen, from here on out. Whitebeard was the strongest pirate and stronger than roger during his prime, but during marineford he was shell of his former self (still stronger than fraud mom tho XD). Kaidos title can be easily retconed because it was always he said she said, not a verbatim straight said title like mihawks. Although kaido is still incredibly strong and those nerfs probably held back his power by no more than 20% which is what led to him losing. I think peak no-nerfs kaido is still losing to end of series shanks, imu, blackbeard, and akainu in a striaght 1v1. Best I can give him is being mid diffed by the end of series main villain, but I think that's completely fair considering how crazy power creep has been up to this point.
Come on Worlds Sickest Man WB possesed that title as The Strongest Man In The World, his entire Prime that was majority of his active career, which was until 20+ years before the start of the series, of those inactive 20+ years he was sick. I stand by white beard being the strongest man even during Marineford. He died, but how many injuries from how many people did it take? They still never brought him down and on top of that he was bullying the Navy's top brass, he had to be jumped by several people at once and even then he was throwing hands on the way out. The 4 emperors were supposed to be pretty close in strength as a sort of check and balance. Considering Shanks got held off by Kaido for a few days before the war, Big Mom and Kaido clashed fairly evenly and yet they ALL respect White beard as the man who would run the ones with Roger. I'd argue not a single person in the OP world could have 1v1'd White Beard even in Marineford.

Titles are just reflections of a specific time. Just because someone has a title doesn't mean that they're definitively what that title says or that the title still applies. WB was indeed the strongest man once upon a time but his age caught up to him, bro was on a drip. My opinion in regard to titles, is that Oda will show us how strong the characters are when they actually do something.

In the original Japanese, Kaidou’s title is 最強の生物 (Saikyou no seibutsu), which is translated as strongest creature, but in Japanese the meaning is very clear. 生物 (pronounced seibutsu) is literally “living thing” 生(life)物(thing), so this would definitely include humans.
My personal theory is that the phrasing “people often say that he is the strongest” serves to hype him up as the one that is viewed as the next strongest creature / living thing after Whitebeard died and that kind of title became vacant. Kaidou could have been considered to be the strongest by the world after Whitebeard died whether or not it was true.

@@SuperiorI.Q no I think it was after Whitebeard died. And remember in chapter 1046 Kaido tells Luffy that "THERE IS NO ONE IN THIS WORLD CAPABLE OF TAKING ME DOWN" meaning rumours put aside, he believed himself to be the strongest even though he met and probably clashed with Shanks 2 years ago.
Also before his defeat in the hands of the Bajrang Gun he has a short flashback where he tells King (Alber) that Joyboy is the one who will beat him one day to which King replies; "THEN WE'LL NEVER SEE HIM'' implying King at least viewed Kaido as invincible at that point.
If at the moment at which Luffy defeated him, he wasn't the strongest then it takes a little bit to Luffy's victory because there was that narrative of Luffy defeating that invincible monster no one else could take down except for Joyboy.
The only characters in my opinion who can be stronger than Kaido going forward are Blackbeard (Because he still has room to grow and is the final obstacle to Luffy becoming Pirate King) and Imu (As they are the final obstacle Luffy will face before bringing the DAWN)
Mihawk, Shanks, Akainu, Dragon etc don't have any narrative reason to be stronger than Kaido at this point in the story given that G5 is Luffy's peak and he needed that to defeat the King of Beasts. Creating too much characters above that ceiling would push Oda to create more Power Ups for Luffy which isn't really necessary after G5

Yeah I've always hated how people try to take the titles at face value ignoring the context on them for the sake of discrediting characters like Mihawk and Whitebeard. You couldn't have said it any better. As far as the world knew WB was still deserving of his title as world's strongest. It's why everyone of MF was so shocked at how much WB wasn't like his former self. Kaidou is called "creature" because he's literally an Oni who is also the world's strongest Zoan. That Kaidou is called ''king of beasts'' and that his crew are called the beast pirates, being zoan DF users, shows how the WG views him as the strongest creature for those reasons. So Kaidou's title doesn't conflict with WB's at all.
And Mihawk like you said is the most straightforward; it can't be that all this time Zoro was chasing a false dream and should have been chasing after Shanks for the title instead. That would just be terrible writing.

I think something that others don’t realize as well is since Mihawk title is so concrete as it is bound to zoro, any and I do mean any swordsman feat in the verse… Mihawk can do better examples: oden/zoro scar kaido adds to wss hype,s-hawk reshaping Amazon lily adds to Mihawk hype,shanks using divine departure on Kidd Mihawk can do it better, ryuma slayed a dragon potentially with a black blade and yet Mihawk has a supreme blade a whole tier over ryuma blade. If it was a well known fact that Whitebeard wasn’t nearly as powerful as in his prime he probably wouldn’t retain the title.
Kaido's title of strongest creature is supposed to serve as a one up from wb's title not alslo be a limited title. example whitebeard was the strongest man and since as the average man is stronger than the average woman this meant he was basically considered to be the strongest human being. However the title is limited to only humans.
Kaido's on the other hand is called creature because it is supposed to be a blanket term that encompasses every single living thing on the planet. Which is literally why the narrator says:
"Land, sea and air, out of every living thing in the world".
If his title doesnt include humans then it can be argued that it doesnt include fishmen, merfolk or giants either, seeing as they are all very simillar to humans, especially giants, thus making kaido's title very limited and at that point oda could have just simply reffered to him as the strongest man just like he did for whitebeard. The creature not including humans arguement is a terrible one especially when 99% of top tiers in the series are humans, so who would we be comparing kaido to? cats and dogs?

1. The databook statement that refers to him as the strongest creature in history
2.when he is talking to Luffy about the people who can fight him. He says only a few are CAPABLE of fighting him, which from the phrasing he is putting himself over everyone one else including the people on the list. it makes zero sense to say someone who is stronger than you is "capable" of fighting you. Thats like me saying lebron is capable of taking me on in a basket ball game, like no he would whoop my ass. The question would be am I capable of taking him on not the other way around.

Kaido is still the World's Strongest Creature if you don't put humans in that category. He doesn't need to be the strongest character since he's not an endgame player, just a stepping stone for Luffy to become an emperor. The likes of Shanks, Mihawk, Akainu, Dragon, Imu and Blackbeard (when he fights Luffy) will probably have abilties above what we see from Kaido and Big Mom.
There's no reason to doubt Mihawk's title since he's tied to a Straw Hat dream, and Whitebeard was likely the strongest man in his youth because of the reputation as being an equal to Roger.
Oda uses these titles and events to create hype among readers…. Quite ingenious tbh. This allows him to take the story forward however he wants. For example, Luffy’s future could say something like “He went head to head against all 3 admirals and survived at marineford”. But we know what really happened. Similarly, any incidents that are just mentioned, like Rocks, Kaido being strongest and god valley must have come about due to much different circumstances than what we imagine

No matter what feelings you have about the title - I'm not saying it's true or anything - it does include humans, saying otherwise is simply incorrect and is a result of the translation.
Edit: And in response to one of your replies to a similar comment - Kaido was stronger than WB in a 1v1 undoubtedly in a vacuum, but WB was a bigger threat because his crew had a bigger presence in the world. Additionally, WB was supposedly capable of destroying the world, which clearly is a much larger threat than being able to beat anyone in a 1v1. Also, I think it was pretty clear from Kaido's introduction that he was supposed to be on another level. That being said, he was also pretty depressed and always drunk.

My main problem with the titles is, who gives these titles to these people in the One Piece World? For instance WB being the worlds strongest man. Throught the eyes of the One Piece world it makes sense. The dude can fight on par with Roger has earthquake powers that can destroy the world and is a 20ft+ giant monster. If I had to pick between him and Roger on who is stronger, as a citizen of the OP world, I would pick WB over Roger, based on that information. But can we trust that title if the public gives it to him? We don't know if he ever beat Roger. So unless we get to see Roger lose to WB or Roger admits that WB is stronger, how do I know that title is undisputable from an in world perspective. The only other way other than Roger saying WB is stronger is if a big character like Garp or Sengoku or someone else important said that WB beat Roger back in the day. The same with Mihawk. He has his title. But who gave him that title? Or I should say, who did he beat to gain this title? If he hasn't fought anyone worthwhile as a swordsman since Shanks more than a decade ago and he has been known as the WSS for quite some time now, does it mean he got that title after his duels with Shanks. But the thing is, we don't know the results of those duels. Also if he got the title after beating Shanks, does that mean that a Young Shanks was the WSS, before Mihawk. There is a line from Marineford, where Vista hypes up Mihawk and say that he is assumed as the WSS. I don't know if that line is in the manga. It's so weird.

I love how Mihawk fans will hold onto his title til death while titles are only given by Big News Morgan/WG. Titles aren’t immortal until death, it is a title given by Government. NOT TO MENTION, it has been YEARS since his title was given, which can easily have been overtaken throughout those years. NOT TO MENTION, he declined a titled challenge TWICE, which should’ve had his title revoked. In any titled sport, if the champion denies the challenge, his title is therefore revoked and the other is the new champion. All of this points to his title not meaning much. The only last argument that is left is then what is the point of Zoro’s dream? His dream is to become WSS, not to defeat Mihawk. He will defeat Mihawk, and he will defeat other strong swordsman, and Big News Morgan will name him the new WSS, it doesn’t have to mean that Mihawk is the final marker. With all this said, the only thing Mihawk still has going for him is his Black Blade. If he were to fight Shanks, he’d even not have his Observation haki.

He since had declined challenges with him and hasn’t had his title tested. Just because he got the WSS title years ago doesn’t mean he is and will always be WSS until Zoro comes along. Mihawks biggest argument for being stronger than shanks, is because of the mere existence of zoro. Zoro will in fact be the worlds strongest swordsman one day and I do not think that oda will allow the 2nd biggest goal in the crew to be a false achievement.
Lets not forget, Bounties exist as a level of threat to back up with the titles that describes them and who has the fcking balls to go up against them also if the bounties touches the billions ya know they're fully well aware on how to use a higher lvl of Haki and/or Devil fruit as their destructive power
Kaido is the single strongest living being as far as the world knows. It could hypothetically be that Shanks, Mihawk, Dragon or other people simply don't go around exerting their power, while Kaido was extremely violent, but literally noone has singlehandedly beaten Kaido. Primebeard was the world's strongest man, but now he simply has the title because he used to have it and noone had beaten him or seen how weak he had gotten (relatively) . Then Mihawk is stronger than any swordsman, including Shanks.

we still dont know how mihawk got his title and how mihawk duels with shanks went so i dont think saying we "everything" about mihawk title is valid yet. About zoros goal I think luffys goal overrides zoros goal and everyone else in the crew. Luffy said he needs the "worlds best swords man" or "nothing less than the best" (i forgot the exact statement) to help him get the one piece.
I think zoro beats mihawk then gets the "worlds strongest swordsman" title going into the final war to help luffy become the pirate king and the story ends with luffy, zoro and the rest of the strawhats fighting stronger people and zoro fighting a stronger swordsman than mihawk(god kights and gorosei and imu). With zoro's goal clashing with luffy, I think its pointless for zoro to fight mihawk after luffy finds the one piece and everything ended because now zoro will be the worlds strongest swordsman when its no longer needed. if thats the case zoro became the strongest for himself but the vow he made for being the strongest in extension to help luffy with his dream now becomes kinda pointless.
Ps. my headcanon/ agenda is that zoro kills mihawk(zoro is mihawks only fight LMAO) before final war. shanks and luffy(and the stawhats) are in the final war and the get massively wanked fighting stronger people then they gap the verse after everything. I wank shanks because of how much narrative he has, there is no way shanks isnt teaming up with luffy end game and there is no way shanks is not going back to fight in the holy land to finish is celestial dragon plotline. This may be a hot take, but there's so much proof to suggest WB was stronger than Rodger. We know WB didn't care about being Pirate King. Oda put that there to say that he could have become pirate king if he wanted to. I believe there's even a line, I forget who says it, but it's that WB was someone who stood next to the throne but never chose to sit on it (something to that effect). There's a reason WB was still considered the world's strongest when Rodger was alive. WB was said to have the power to destroy the world by Sengoku. Even if that wasn't true, that's how much they feared WB's power.
And now what's really interesting is, who else does WB's situation remind you of? Mihawk and Shanks. Mihawk parallels WB and Shanks parallels Roger. It's no exaggeration to say Mihawk and Shanks are the new age's WB and Rodger. I think Oda knew what he was doing here. He made both Roger and Shanks have the better charisma and portrayal but secretly their shadows; Mihawk to Shanks and WB to Roger - were the secretly stronger ones out of the pair of duos. WB not wanting to be pirate king (like Rodger) is a lot like how Mihawk said he wasn't interested in becoming Yonkou (like Shanks). It's also feels deliberate that Oda had that contrast of having Shanks and Rodger's portrayal be better than WB and Mihawk, while also giving a low-key, almost irrefutable case for Mihawk being over Shanks and WB over Roger.

The thing I don't like about the Mihawk Shanks debate is that it will never be settled. Because when Zoro encounters Mihawk again, that will be when he claims the title and when Luffy meets Shanks again, he will likely beat him to prove that he is a great pirate, so nothing gets settled.

Out of the 3 strongest title, Kaido title is what majority of fandom tries to debunked and make it out like it just a rumor or fake. His title is just as legit as Whitebeard and Mihawk title. Oda personally refer Kaido as world strongest couple times in SBS, the manga also mentioned not only once. No other character as been quoted like Kaido this and that.
And about Kaido title *"doesn't include human"* .....this is also pure cope. Japan doesn't clarify creature and human, all are under the category of "Seibutsu" ( living organisms/beings). Yujiro hanma is also called World Strongest Creature.

I'll talk about each title one by one
in brief if you don't wanna read much:
1-kaido's title> wb's title
2-mihawk as a swordsman> shanks as a swordsman
but is that mean that he'll be able to win against shanks for just that matter? I don't think so... I'll talk about it after Wb vs Kaido
#### first wb is the strongest Man which in my understanding refers to humans only
but kaido is the strongest creature which means human, fishman, giants, whatever other races out there
with that being said, it doesn't mean that you can't take him down, no, it means that in 1v1 no body can ever take him down as far as he still own the title
now in compare to wb, well wb as I know is much older than kaido so when wb first achieved the title he really was the strongest in every category, but with time going on another creature has became stronger than him
but they didn't need to take off wb's title as kaido can have his own title as the strongest in every category and also the title of strongest man still make sense as it's true for humans so unless another human proved to be stronger than wb or beat him directly (even if he/she used tricks) they'll be considered the strongest man and wb would have lost his title. anyway from a narrative perspective kaido gain the title after wb start to weaken (not in his prime anymore even without sickness, the age still a factor). but tbh from attributes POV I (just my opinion) kaido will still take the title even if he was in wb's prime.

But the problem here is although shanks use sword and has some skills in using it, he doesn't focus on his swordsmanship's as his main power, it's like saying that garp is for example the strongest boxer in one piece because he use his fist only, that doesn't mean he can beat the egghead's gear 5 (Idk just an example) because luffy also just punch and kick but that's not how his power works he has a DF which boost him so much. in matter of swordsmanship it depends on the style and the skills of a sword user (attack, defense, dodge and faking moves, speed and tricks all using the sword) while shanks is more than that he is an advanced conqueror haki expert, even without sword he'll probably just lose 30% or less from his full power
meanwhile shanks without a sword or knife or whatever sharp tool he may lose closer to half his power even if he's a conqueror user as he should for the seek of the end fight between him and Zoro, in terms of swords only even Zoro and Vista are stronger than shanks in my opinion if mihawk die right now one of them will immediately take the title not shanks, but yet these two can't defeat shanks because swordsmanship is far from enough when conqueror kicks in

This why I have major issues with the databooks. The story uses Roger as a measuring stick for Whitebeard implying that the Pirate King was possibly the strongest alive . Now you have a databook that tells you that whitebeard was the strongest even during Roger's time. Then Wano clearly shows us otherwise because they fougbt mutliple times but never got the upperhand over the other, however people still want me to believe a freaking databook that tells me Whitebeard was the strongest even when Roger was alive, please the motherfucker had an Op weapon, op devil fruit and still fought to a standstill with Roger 😶. I never take those databooks seriously. Might as well be patient until we get a godvalley flashback or something.

It's real straight forward, just people forget their brain somewhere. Strongest Creature refer to him being a dragon, a dragon is the strongest creature on land, sea and air (notice that kaido is a devil fruit users, he can't move in the sea) what this means is the dragon aspect of kaido.
Strongest swordsman, pretty self explanatory, you got a sword you're weaker than mihawk and yes that includes shanks.
Strongest man also pretty self explanatory, as whitebeard said you can't keep being the strongest forever. His reputation precedes him doesn't mean he'll always be like that especially when he was old and ravaged by illness.

magazine volume 9 says kaido is a human being and marco says hes an ogre. Kaido being a hybrid between ogre and human is whats more consistent and has no contradictions.

Power creep will happen, from here on out. Whitebeard was the strongest pirate and stronger than roger during his prime, but during marineford he was shell of his former self (still stronger than fraud mom tho XD). Kaidos title can be easily retconed because it was always he said she said, not a verbatim straight said title like mihawks. Although kaido is still incredibly strong and those nerfs probably held back his power by no more than 20% which is what led to him losing. I think peak no-nerfs kaido is still losing to end of series shanks, imu, blackbeard, and akainu in a striaght 1v1. Best I can give him is being mid diffed by the end of series main villain, but I think that's completely fair considering how crazy power creep has been up to this point.
Come on Worlds Sickest Man WB possesed that title as The Strongest Man In The World, his entire Prime that was majority of his active career, which was until 20+ years before the start of the series, of those inactive 20+ years he was sick.
Well after Roger was actually dying of sickness he gave himself up to be executed. And active Prime WB was determined bby the world through his then activity, to be the closest to One Piece, his activity diverted competition.

WB is also a swordsman (he literally uses one of the 12 supreme grade swords, the only argument for him not being a swordsman is the same weak one used for Shanks), so who is stronger between the strongest swordsman and the strongest man/pirate when both of them are pirate swordsmen?

I stand by white beard being the strongest man even during Marineford. He died, but how many injuries from how many people did it take? They still never brought him down and on top of that he was bullying the Navy's top brass, he had to be jumped by several people at once and even then he was throwing hands on the way out. The 4 emperors were supposed to be pretty close in strength as a sort of check and balance. Considering Shanks got held off by Kaido for a few days before the war, Big Mom and Kaido clashed fairly evenly and yet they ALL respect White beard as the man who would run the ones with Roger. I'd argue not a single person in the OP world could have 1v1'd White Beard even in Marineford.

The Yonko are a part of the world balance and they are known to stalemate with eachother, yet not one of them doubted his title to our knowledge and atleast 1 of the other Yonko knew about Whitebeard's health. Pretty much everything I've said can be found in the Manga.
