Eddie Clarke was one of Britain's great Blues guitarists & a hugely underrated talent. His contribution to Motorhead was just immense. Missed by so many!
Fast Eddie was super underrated man. He's really an inspiration to me.. He had some good stuff in Fastaway too, and it's a shame he's pretty unheard of. I have respect for Phil Campbell too for continuing that era of motorhead with us.
The day he left was the day I kinda departed from Motorhead. Every gig when I bought ticket was on Fast Eddies side.........loved that man..........loved them all but Eddie was coolest.
I’ve always gotten a laugh out of the part at 0:50 when Eddie is introduced and he comes out like “let’s have a hug Lem” and Lemmy’s like “a handshake will do just fine thank you”...lol.
No disrespect, I like Phil Campbell guitar style and playing, but he can't achieve that same sound and style that only Fast Eddie Clarke provided Motorhead. Eddie Clarke is the best guitarist Motorhead ever had and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor their best drummer, with Lemmy they were the best and greatest version of Motorhead. I got to see them play way back in the 80's at the California Jam Festival.
I actually believe that Eddie was a better Mötorhead guitarist. I like Phil Campbell, but Eddie gave Mötorhead the unique guitar sound they had, and I believe it was more accurate for what Lemmy wanted to achieve with the band (it seems both Lemmy and Eddie were fond of blues). Phil gave Mötorhead a more metal sound... Ace of Spades sounded rougher, but it wasn't the same. I actually like both, but you end up missing the old stuff too.
Right, but Phil doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy. He didn’t need to. After Wurzel left I’d kind of hoped they’d take Eddie back on board. Together Phil and Ed sounded big as proven here and Eddie was clearly enjoying himself. Don’t know if he would have coped with the Lemmy tour schedule tho. Eddie suffered one of the biggest regrets suffered in music history being kicked out.
He was gonna leave eventually him and lemmy where getting in fights all the time and Eddie was quitting the band every other week or so until one day he actually did leave and lemmy replaced him within a week.
Phil and Mickey are great in Motörhead but songs of this caliber need the Guitar of Fast Eddie and Philthy Animals drums. MK1 Line Up made the band what it was and for what it is famous to this day.
No match at all for the sound and feeling. I don't want to put him down, but Eddie and Phil defined the sound of Motörhead. Its ok to like the newer stuff :) But its not better than the first 3-4 albums, not even close! Hope you don't think that Brian Johnson is better than Bon Scott in AC/DC either? ;-)
Mark Evans? You mean DAVE Evans, right? If you are on about Dave, then I wouldn't even class him a part of AC/DC! He done a few pub gigs and recorded one single that went nowhere and was then booted out for being an absolute princess, Angus's own words...
reece callow i'm for sure he means Mark Evans who played Bass Guitar on the following albums: T.N.T, Dirty deeds done dirt cheap, Let there be rock, and some songs on the international High voltage album.
To this day I maintained that fast. Eddie wasn't the most technical or greatest guitar player of all time. But he probably has the best tone. He was a true master of understanding his own personal musical limits and making the absolute most out of that. Plus his 70s all wood and brass stratocaster was so damn cool.
All incarnations of Motorhead were great and Phil Campbell was the man and longest tenured guitarist, but there was just something special about Fast Eddie and his sound
Lemmy kept the band going with younger guys keeping him young in the meantime my favourite fast Eddie song is iron fist that was motorhead at their peak and they could play. Phil and Mickey deserve respect and lemmy always praised both of them saying they were better than philty and fast Eddie I'd say they are all great musicians
It doesn’t matter no matter how Lemmy constructed Motörhead it was always Motörhead I think humans over time were used to Ian Eddie Phil but I mean come on Ian Phil Mick was not f###ken bad either Hail all members past and present of Motörhead.
I mean seriously!!! Phil Campbell should have sat this one out and let Eddie do his thing. The outro solo should have been EDDIE's.. I wanted to hear Eddie solo! "Come back of the year"???? It's more like the only comback that really matters! No disrepect to Phil Campbell and I feel sorry for him but he will always be a shadow. LEMMY, seriously, get Phil Taylor and EDDIE back and give us a REAL Motorhead album. Been a long time since Iron Fist. Again no disrespect to Wurzel and the boys, there was some real good shit there from 84-present but after Wurzel left it was never the same. I dunno, without Eddie it doesn't sound like Motorhead to me. Yeah I wasn't there, so what? I am still capable of making an objective decision by listening to Motorhead music and basically saying anything Eddie touched in Motorhead was pure GOLD. Period! There is a reason why Kilmister-Clarke-Taylor is reffered to as the golden line up! Cause it is!!!!!!
You posted a long time ago but I am so behind you in that. That was Fast Eddies moment who got run over basically by Campbell. Was not cool on his or Lemmy's books to do that.See my comment if you can Fast Eddie was always my fav forever.
Lemmy Phil and Mikkey kicked fuckin ass too though, Inferno, Kiss of Death, The World Is Yours and Overnight Sensation are all among my all time favorites, killer albums
Eddie Clarke was one of Britain's great Blues guitarists & a hugely underrated talent. His contribution to Motorhead was just immense. Missed by so many!
Wow this is so true

Well said!
His contribution to music in general is unparalleled! Top 5 guitar player ever...RIP Fast Eddie....goddamn you are missed
Fast Eddie was just here to remind us how Motörhead must sound and seem. I love the guy, a true Motörheader.
DmageCase To me. He'll always be the sound of Motorhead.
And still rocking the bullet belt. I wish I could have met him, he seemed a great fellow
I was lucky enough to see Fast Eddie in Fastway.
One of the classic lineup
Wonder if fast Eddie wasn’t comfortable on there knowing past differences and phill taking his place ??
the holy trinity of
Lemmy, Clarke, Taylor,
made the holy trinity of
Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades
And Capricorn, so underrated, best wishes
Eddie had that unique hippie sound and vibe which made Motorhead unique
Great to see Eddie with his bullet belt on. Fek I miss those days.
Saw them at Glasgow barrowland a couple of times, sensational band, God rest Lemmy, Phil and Eddie ❤
Epic. Rest in Power Lemmy and Fast Eddie.
It's a sad fact that the classic Motorhead lineup are all gone: Lemmy, Eddie and Philthy. fuck death.
There surely can be nothing better in life than listening to Motorhead!
That's absolutely true
Not listening to motorhead
I'm immortalizing Lemmy by cranking the shit out of this awesome tune. Who's with me?
Damn....wiping tears away 😢
FAST EDDIE CLARK! HE HAD THE MAGIC IN HIS SOUND! R. I. P EDDIE 🎶
I first heard Eddie on Fastway's debut album. I was blown away. To me, that was hard rock at its best.
Met Eddie at this gig-top bloke!
Fast fucking Eddie clarke🤘🤘 unreal guitar tone when he left motor head was like ozzy leaving Sabbath it was just never the same
I’ve always gotten a laugh out of the part at 0:50 when Eddie is introduced and he comes out like “let’s have a hug Lem” and Lemmy’s like “a handshake will do just fine thank you”...lol.
"bit too gay for me, mate"
Ain't a nice guy after all
that's pretty sad actually

Yeah, couldn't agree more. Absolutely the best line up. Peace
+fierrote Phil and Eddie fucking ruled.
Mark B. Stone Technically, but his style didn't fit the band at all.
I actually believe that Eddie was a better Mötorhead guitarist. Odhil95 Phil's lead playing started to get more bluesy and groove-oriented as the years went by, but Eddie was the king of that style.
cant beat classic line up of lemmy philth and eddie.. magical stuff.
Damn Right !
Motörhead war eine großartige Band
Rip Eddie, and thanks for the music. Your legacy lives on....forever
Imagine if after Wurzle left this was the lineup .....
What a band that would be
The original Line-Up hast never been topped
Such an amazing guitarist was Eddie Clarke.
Phil is a really good guitar player, but Eddie has the magic touch, somehow. He was a huge part of Motorhead's classic sound
Yes, I thought Phil felt upstaged when Eddie came on.
I saw Motorhead bk in day never forget it. R.I.P all three of you
Kudos to Phil for not being a prima donna and being cool about it. Was in music for 40 years and have seen it all.
Right, but Phil doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy. He didn’t need to.
After Wurzel left I’d kind of hoped they’d take Eddie back on board.

Eddie suffered one of the biggest regrets suffered in music history being kicked out.
Almost 23 years ago and still crisp as always, miss them all, RIP Lemmy and Eddie.
And now the six million dollar question. Did Motörhead as a four piece sound even better ??
Eddie Clark’s guitar playing is raw and tuneful
EDDIE IS AN AMAZING GUITARIST
RIP Eddie
I’m not in to Motörhead but I paid my respects to Philthy Phil ,he is buried next to my mate who I lost in a bike accident.
R.I.P. Fast Eddie
R.I.P EDDIE !!!
I think Eddie is the best guitarist in Motörhead. But this song is definitely my favorite from Ace of Spades. So sad Eddie left Motörhead in '82.
He was gonna leave eventually him and lemmy where getting in fights all the time and Eddie was quitting the band every other week or so until one day he actually did leave and lemmy replaced him within a week.
GrayWoIf Lemmy actually kicked him out because eddie didn't want to prodyce the wendy o williams album.

outstanding
Makes me wish Fast Eddie never left...
Damn I miss Motörhead😕
Lemmy, Eddie & Phil were Motorhead.................
It was like GOD meeting JESUS after the resurrection.........Class.
eddie Fast THE BEST GUITAR OF MOTORHEAD
At this point I'll take Any Live Version !!!!
Lemmy, Fast Eddie and Philty animal was the best line up in my opinion. It was kinda like AC/DC with Bon Scott and Mark Evans.
No match at all for the sound and feeling. I don't want to put him down, but Eddie and Phil defined the sound of Motörhead. All respect too Lemmy who let the current member start Even thou Fast Eddie is there ♠️♠️🤘
RIP 'Fast' Eddie..
True fucking greatness......Eddie is a killer player.....RIP.
To this day I maintained that fast. Eddie wasn't the most technical or greatest guitar player of all time. But he probably has the best tone. He was a true master of understanding his own personal musical limits and making the absolute most out of that. Plus his 70s all wood and brass stratocaster was so damn cool.
R.I.P "Fast" Eddie
Phil can scream on that guitar of his, but he never came up with a whole lot of uniquely memorable guitar riffs like Eddie did.
Agree with the comments that don’t disrespect Phil Campbell; he is an excellent guitarist... but only Eddie could achieve THAT sound
What a fucking great performance!!! Enjoy y'all in Walhella, Lemmy, Phil and now Eddie Clarke!!! Long live Motorhead!!!
Joining Lemmy, Phïlty and Würzel in the cold ground or urn form....Fast Eddy Clark. Rest in Speed.....
All incarnations of Motorhead were great and Phil Campbell was the man and longest tenured guitarist, but there was just something special about Fast Eddie and his sound
RIP "Fast Eddie", a authentic guitar hero.
one of the very best rock n' roll songs ever written. the chase is better......trust Lemme.
I loved Motorhead . I guess everything comes to a.n end
Grande eddie
Nice to see the peacocks giving solo time to each other. Great stuff.
one of my heros as simple as that
Rip eddie, phill and lemmy and Motorhead!
my mum loves motorhead
I wish Phil would sit it out for this one and let Eddie go off. Never cared for Phil.
RIP Eddie you were the shit
breath of classic good music...
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And happening on my birthday too, bloody excellent this was.
Phil was fantastic member of mötorhead and really fits the style, but Eddie is the original, and seems the best for the sound
He's like a knife which cuts through the dirty mix of Lemmy's voice and bass tone and the drums combined.
The attitude is pure British.
Long live Motörhead 🤘🍺🤘
Fast Eddie was more bluesy/classic rock
Phil was more punk/classic metal.
They were all fucking Motörhead!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Eddie was more punk than Phil.
Love this lineup. Love Phil, Love Eddie.
Fast eddie.....fast and the best ever
Lemmy always sounded like he needed a Ricola when he sang it sounded like it hurt, now heaven has the two best vocalists Lemmy and Bon Scott
RIP Fast Eddie
Guitar not quite plugged in, JUST like the good old days! Gotta love it
RIP Fast Eddie.
It doesn’t matter no matter how Lemmy constructed Motörhead it was always Motörhead I think humans over time were used to Ian Eddie Phil but I mean come on Ian Phil Mick was not f###ken bad either Hail all members past and present of Motörhead.
WOW...love Fast Eddie!
Fast Eddie!!
I've got the concert (the whole) in double-CD and on DVD too !
and i can tell you , he really Rocks and kicks ass !!!!
RIP Big "Fast"
R.I.P. Lemmy and Eddie
for ever legend
RIP MOTORHEAD
RIP Fast Eddie \m/
I was born 11 days prior to this.

to be fair. Phil had to hold it all together musically, live, in the last year of Motorhead. Top respect to him for that.
Phil ain’t no shadow
i really wish this line - up could ve been something in real life RIP Fast Eddie
was there that day down on the barrier
RIP Motorhead..
That should be the life-time lineup!!!
R.I.P "Fast" Eddie Clarke
Used to love Fast Eddie, cool guy btw ! Nice to know he's back :)
I bet Phil Campbel was intimidated of Eddie's guitar sound.
No offense to Phil but he really sounds like he is playing in a cover band in comparison to Eddie.
@@TheTillhammer they are both good
i really miss phil taylor and i still think today they should bring another gutair player and make it 4 members. mike
Eddie Clarke The Best
Rip Lemmy and Eddie
R.I.P Eddie :-(

Cheers Lemmy!!!
There is only one Motorhead line up. I'll never forget it.
Lemmy Phil and Mikkey kicked fuckin ass too though, Inferno, Kiss of Death, The World Is Yours and Overnight Sensation are all among my all time favorites, killer albums
I highly rate both guitarists. How good would that line up be?
