I am not even 2 minutes in, and I can tell you already I want more episodes like this. Most of the time (especially lately) the main topic either goes over my head or just bores me. I come for the preamble ramble, the what we painted, and the news. But mainly it's just to hear you two ramble on about various topics.
Trapped Under Plastic - a show that sounds like it’s about the Kardashians but is actually about two grown men who put makeup on tiny men. But honestly, it’s enjoyable to watch you both talk about your interests and passions even if it not congruent or interrelated. Hope you keep the ramble scramble episode as a mainstay in your rotation 👍
When I saw this was gonna be a whole episode was gonna be pre amble I was kinda excited. Lol I honestly wouldn't mind having a Preamble Ramble the movie sequel once a fort-month. 😂
Your discussion around 58:00 about the store closing is really great! GZ in Roseville is instituting an entry fee that is really rubbing folks the wrong way, so we're shopping around for a new shop to play at. Asking around to see who is the most excited to host definitely seems like the best way to go.
Every episode, the pre-amble ramble is my favorite part. Sometimes the main topic bores me. Sometimes it seems to vote y'all, after awhile. But listening to two good friends shoot the shit? 10/10
Totaly dont mind episodes like this. I dont think there is a need to have a specific topic just because. If you have a topic you want to talk about, do it. If not, just give us the preamble rumble all the way
This has come at the perfect time. The 'main topic' was getting played out and was starting to get a bit annoying. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of the 'main topics', but only when they were the bigger subjects, and when they had really been thought out. The ones where I found them less enjoyable, I found I was skipping past it to get to the news. Honestly, I think TUP works so much better when you two are just riffing. Feels more relaxed, more like tv show. Its cool, I dig it! I think 'main topics' will always have a place on TUP, but only when its a subject really worth covering. Scott, if you want to learn how to paint an army/warband fast, just talk with Guy from MidWinter Minis! Remember, most of his early videos were all about speed painting the miniatures from Blackstone Fortress and its expansion. He'll be able to tell you how to do a warband in 8 hours or less.
Even the video had a pre-amble. I like the show format, thoughts on the hobby journey is good, cannot always have a fixed format and sometimes those incidental thoughts are the most valuable. 100% on the regular progress being a self-reinforcing loop
I love every episode of TuP. Became a fan really quick. The only complaint I have is we need more frequent episodes. 2 a week, 1 with set topics and another of just BSing and talking hobby.
The only problem with the Askurgan Trueblades (Warcry vampires) is that they don't have the summonable tag, so as they die, they're done for. I think without that tag they fall a little short and I'd like to see them do more/cost more, or do less and cost less.
All vampires in SBG don't have that keyword, so it's to be expected, but I feel ya. They seem like a slightly tanky/utility heavy unit which AoS doesn't have much room for. If you want infantry that can hit hard, might as well go Grave Guard. If you want an infantry unit that's "tanky", might as well get a 20 man block of death rattle.
On the topic of people being impressed by eavy metal painting. Models like sigvald and glorfindel. There were lots of people commenting on the quality of the paint job.

While I love the movie "The Running Man", almost everytime anyone mentions it, I automatically think of the song "Temple of Dreams" by Messiah. That seems to be a lost art form in music now a days is the use of samples from movies and TV in music tracks. It was something that almost every electronic band would do regardless of the type of their musical style. Oh well, back to miniatures now.
I have 3 vampire lords on zombie dragon, one is Vhordrai, one is Mannfred and the last one is Neferata. Took a little saddle fanagling but now I have 3 distinct vampire lords.
Some of the best advise I got in Art school, was “darks recede and lights come forward.” Always keep that in mind when painting anything. Also keep your fucking paint brush out of your mouth. Not sure how you teach Art for a living and keep that going. Paint is made of stuff you don’t want in your body.
One thing that drives me nuts with AoS bros is if you don't like the priority roll you must be stupid. I get it can be played around, I still hate it when a player takes 40% of their game turns in one go.
I'm all about this stuff, do this whenever the vibe strikes. I'd rather an episode like this than some sort of "best of" compilations- please don't do a "best of". Please.

Not sure how you teach Art for a living and keep that going. Paint is made of stuff you don’t want in your body.
