    If you camera is coming out too green, then push your color filter slightly towards Amber-magenta (A2-M0.5 for example) to calibrate you Sony Colors, but you need to experiment with these Color Filter Settings

    That is exactly what I found, too. The presets are always way too warm. For example, on a cloudy day using the preset (normally around 6000K) gives you too much yellow/warmth. Choosing Kelvin manually at around 4800-5200 (which would normally be considered as daylight, not as cloudy), the result is a lot more realistic.
    Then you have to correct for this slight red/magenta shift and you're done.

    • @veresdenialex
      @veresdenialex  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      exactly!

    • @veresdenialex
      @veresdenialex  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It also depends on the camera model and color cast predominance. Some cameras are more yellow, others are green or magenta. But it can be pretty much fixed with the kelvin color filter and the color phase inside the picture profile menu.

    • @fotosvond_
      @fotosvond_ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@veresdenialex Right, but it costs some time until you know which approach gives you exactly what you want. Some of these cameras have LCDs you cannot really trust in terms of colour and then it is a very time consuming way to work this out 🫨😆

    i have sony a7c ,so in sunny daylight i should do 4500k instead of 5500k . also i have questions on white balancing in diffrent scenarios:
    -when shooting sodium vapor ugly orange street lights at night no matter what kelvin it's always orange except when i did do a custom white balance with just a white card the light became white , so should i buy an xrite color checker and do accurate white balance then make it a warm yellow light in davinci resolve ?
    - or should i mess with the settings in camera and try to achieve that warm look by messing with kelvin and tints and bake it inside the camera if so what settings and kelvin are best for that sodium vapor lights? and what picture profile of yours is best for these ugly orange sodium lights that retain good skin colors
    - also when shooting at blue light after sunset i noticed that when i make the sky bluer i lose the warmth in those street sodium vapor lights what's your settings in this scenario
    -also last scenario: shooting at night with sodium vapor orange lights and mixed with white led lights of the shops i noticed when for exemple doing a custom white balance for the orange lights the shops lights which i assume they are white leds become so blue it's distracting so i pick a kelvin insted of custom white balancing?
    thanks and sorry for all these long questions

    • @veresdenialex
      @veresdenialex  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, so i used to have the same problem with sodium lights. You wanna get correct white balance but then you make a custom white, and because you are trying to balance the orange lights, every other color shifts and becomes super blue and unusable. Depends on the look you want to get, but now i actually push the kelvin higher that normal and shift the color filter towards yellow green to make it even hotter. I feel like that's a much better look, instead of going against the dominant chroma. This will also answer your 3rd question, balance is the key. So in the situation when you have extremely different light sources, like you mentioned, instead of setting white balance for one and the other just goes super wild and yucky, try to find a middle ground between the two, so they both look as natural or pleasing as possible. Again, try higher kelvin, so you make colors more even. You don't always have to get perfect white. It's important to know how to set the temperature in the camera to get the kind of look you want from the start.

    • @veresdenialex
      @veresdenialex  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And for the 2nd question, it all depends on taste or the look ypu want to achieve, but if you shoot low klevin at blue hour, you will emphasize even more on the cold tones. You want to try shooting at higher temperature to shift the colors towards warmer tones. Yesterday i did some realestate photography at blue hour. Try anywhere between 5000-6500kelvin. Hopes this helps. Good luck

      then try to push the color filter towards Amber Magenta A-3:M0.5 or so, you can push it even more, but be gentle. What camera model you having?

      Yep.
      Also keep in mind the a7 iv color is more on the cyan green side compared to the a7iii which is more on the magenta side, so in the color filter, instead of pushing towards cyan green, slightly push towards magenta. Each sony camera has a different color science

      wow, hateful comment you is have, heheh. If your image is coming too green then maybe shift the color filter towards Amber Magenta a little bit, You need to have some creativity for this ;)
      Older sony models are much greener than newer models, so keep that in mind
      Also for an extra step, go into the picture profile menu and shift the color phase to +1 or +2 shift the color phase.
