  • Feel like you’re owed something? Truth is, that kind of narcissistic entitlement could be holding you back and is the opposite of health, wealth, love, and happiness.

You're amazing Tai! The part that impacted me the most was that if everyone had that mentality to get up and work for their dreams and be determined to overcome obstacles, poverty would no longer exist. That is what we need to get rid of that issue that has been lingering for a long time.

People need to approach more to the obvious reality they are in, analyze it and change it for the better. P.S: The 67 Steps molded my mindset and now my pocket is wider by the minute.

Bigjizay Totally agree. Usually valuable knowledge is never cheap because people went through a lot to learn it. People pay tens of thousands to institutions to teach them reiterated garbage that they could find on the internet for free but complain about paying for the 67 bucks for Tai's course....

***** but then, when you said you're not owed anything but yet, workout and eat properly, are you not expected to be owed good health?
when people pay to get your "services" you owe the services
when workers work they are owed their pay
when you said we are so small because the universe is so vast that we are nothing is bs
there are things very important that happen because they are supposed to but could look insignificant and normal
you are saying jumping off a cliff w/ knowledge and owed that gravity doesn't matter but yet can carry a chute to land safetly
with having the chute feature then you should be owed, given it was set up right, to not suicide from that cliff jump and land unscathe
I call bs on the whole, we aren't owed shit when you can win a $40M after taxes lotto and make at least $30k on interest alone per month doing absolutely nothing but just having it under your name
some people can be 100% correct with the whole they are owed for what they have done, which is why there are contracts
bottom line is, if it's supposed to happen it would, if it isn't it's not and the reality is the only control people have is w/ the interaction w/ things but the interaction w/ people is all controlled
it's just a "secret" to believe it's not otherwise there would be NO balance

but.. sometimes it's where doing something w/o some sort of investment like, a prevention
I can't think of it right now but I realize w/o some kind of investment it won't work at all but if you are saying they aren't owed that investment then it won't work and I would say don't do it but I'm not sure if thinking backwards like this is ok

I love you for covering this topic. I went to a top school work my ass off for a 6 figures job. I came from nothing. My parents had nothing. However, when my friends parents had the biggest tvs and newest cars, we had more books than a library. All the classic philosophy, poetry, psychology, theatre, novels, etc in 3 different languages. Reading made me.

Its pointless to try to philosophize about this civilization because its based on sucking humanity dry and leaving it in the dust. governments have taken most of the real knowledge from brilliant people throughout history and kept it for themselves while giving regular people misinformation and half truths. If you make your theories based on a civilization made from lies and deception you can only upgrade the idiocy. The truth is everybody can contribute something unique and we should all be able to enjoy the combined efforts of humanity without the impediment of secret organizations hoarding our brilliance. When this is done we can reach a point where everyone will do what is in align with their path while contributing to the whole. Right now people are on factory lines, cash registers, cubicles all of which obstructs their paths and should be done with machines if needed at all.

Hey Tai! I just wanted to thank you. From all of these videos that you have taken time out of your day to produce to help people, I have learned more than I have in this entire year in school. Applying these skills and different techniques to my every day life has made me a much happier person. You've made a huge impact on my life, and have sparked a flame in my mind to go out and get what I want from the world and stop waiting for it to fall into my lap, I've realized that it never will, and you have helped me to realize that. I'm only 16 but I have a mind that will succeed at whatever I work at, and until recently I really haven't done much with it, so once again thank you for making these videos, and I hope to watch many more to come.

David Steers maybe you should gather the hard workers, talk to them about opening your own machine shop. write up a business plan, talk to a bank or investors, or fund it your selves. then open it taking all the best workers with you. if its anything like the machine shops i go to. i always ask for the people i know, that know what they are doing. so the business just might follow your group of hard workers. because the quality isnt at the other shop anymore. just an idea.

    Great rant!
This is the example of a well-justified, valuable rant. Too many people believe they are the center of attention needing to be compensating for breathing the specific way they do.
Provide value, get paid. Simple as that, if you don't like your reality, change it! We are 100% responsible for the way we do things and how we react to situations.
We decide who we want to listen to, what content we consume, and who we think is a valuable influence. It's been nice having you as a virtual mentor for now, and you are providing much more FREE value than what most people at your level are providing, through TH-cam alone! To step into the mind of someone reading a book a day is very insightful. Like you say in the steps, successful and wealthy friends have multitudes of quotes and insights, while poor friends have opinions and talk about BS.
    Opinions are the cheapest commodity.
I've said many times as I go through the 67 steps that they should be MORE expensive, not less, or free.
Thanks for your value, I've learned a TON already from you and I'm just halfway through the 67 steps...

"I'm the center of the world and the world owes me a lot"
I had been thinking that way for the last 8 months. I sat there and I felt extremely sorry for myself.
It all started out with me quitting a job in which I was a top well respected rep because I got a job offer which didn't turn out to he what it was.
Then the next 3 jobs I got, I only lasted there for a month before I got let go of.
During this time period I have become financially broke, inactive and mentally depressed. I felt like the whole world that I once knew had betrayed me.
At this point I am doing exactly what I need to be doing and I'm starting a business and I will do whatever it take to get out of this negative state of mind (this sorrow).
My main priority is to become extremely self confident and to stop being such a doormat to other people

I try to be aware of narcissistic entitlement in everything I do. I wanted to go to the conference - its not in my budget - I offered to work for a day in exchange. That's called offering to make alliances. I didn't get a response - s'ok I'm not entitled to one. I'll miss out on a good conference but I am drinking from the fire hose already - and Tai might have missed out on a good ally who is connected to the founders of one of L.A.'s largest incubators. i agree with your point of narcissistic entitlement and this way of thinking wont help anyone in their endeavors. However i still think the information should be free, not because people are entitled to it but because they deserve it. if your goal was to help everyone be the best they can be it would be of greater benefit to give it for free, just think of all the extra people you could help. "If you're not making someone else's life better then your wasting your time" - Will Smith. you seem to only want to help if theres a gain from it. not having a go at you, I can understand and respect your mentality. A right can never come at the expense of another person. If more people realized that we would be that much better off. The rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness didn't come at the expense of anyone. Free products and services always have a price tag attached somewhere. If a person or group wants to give you something for free they have the liberty to do so, but none of us are pre-allotted that product/service. Love the vids. Very motivational.

I just turned 20 years old. I'm an optomist now. I'm turning my life around and becoming wiser every day, with the Help of Tai, it's been a lot easier. I was the guy partying the last few years, but now I'm spending all of my time learning. I'm working on getting my ACT's up and improving my IQ. (I want to get into MENSA.) I'm actually going to start putting forth my best effort, and I'm excelling and reading books that are directly applicable to the work in our business.
Health- 07/10 ( I just got a gymn membership and I'm working with a personal trainer.
Wealth 0/10 Still have 1k of credit Card debt but I'll pay that off this moneth and start saving.
Love (passionate) never had a girlfriend. 0/10 Friends. Need to find new ones who share my goals (mastermind group from Think and Grow rich) 03/10 Family 08/10 I am working on planning out fun activities with the family and going to museums and learning things ect.
And happiness 7/10. Every day I amke the choice to be happy. Mediation, reading, and just taking time to do what I like, like playing the guitar and singing.
I started the program 15 days ago and I have only watched about 7 videos, and I'm reading about 25 books, 5-10 at a time per day, and I've only completed 7 of them. I'm catching up and although it wasn't part of the program I want to be like Tai so I'm trying to read a book every day. I found myself sitting down with like 20 books at Barnes and Noble last night for hours, and reading through books before I worked out, and I'm like, REALLY? Is this me right now? It's so much more fun to immerse yourself in knowledge than it is to get wasted and listen to crappy club bangers with friends. It's so true that you get what you give.

Tai...You're clearly one of the best at what you do, and I love your messages. If you study biology, we have mirror neurons that imprint on one another when we have interactions with other people. While working for what you desire IS the start one needs to succeed, if you look at all the takers at the top in the world of business, it's no wonder that the same philosophy is then embraced by the masses, below. You've heard the phrase "as above, so below?" What people feel they deserve isn't everything (except for a minor few), but at LEAST the respect and fairness we all need in the work place - emotionally and financially. It doesn't take a go-getter or a psychologist to realize that if 99% of the wealth is owned by 1%, why WOULDN'T most people feel entitled to more - since, if it wasn't for all of those worker bees, the king and queens wouldn't have ANY $$$?! See my big picture point? Your point is right on from an individual's perspective as far as success in life goes, however...So, keep up the great work!!!

Thank you Tai! In Buddhism, they call that a self cherishing mindset. It's very unhealthy they say. We must read, gain the proper perspective, practice giving and prayer to eradicate it.

    Thanks for sharing this Tai.
As I do agree with most of what you said, I want to point out a quick thing that stuck out.
You said to the people who feel entitled, " what have you ever done for me, why should I make my 67 steps free, and what do I owe to you"? And while I agree that we should earn what we get, it's that same pattern of thinking that can initiate segregation between people, which can trigger narcissism. Again, just wanted to comment. Think you're a good dude!

I don’t know what I could give you in exchange for what you have given me that is of equal or similar value. Yet how you’ve said in other videos that instead of the rich inviting poor people, that it should be the poor inviting the rich. I live in Colorado so if you’re ever here let me invite you to dinner (which isn’t even half as much as what you’ve given me) to repay you. Thanks alot for everything Tai.

this is the truth to life.
i have so many stories of my own long time friend that has this problem. everywhere she goes, she treats workers, and wait staff so badly, it kills me. because she believes shes entitled to great service and friendly workers. as a result i see how poorly people treat her in return. just the other night they were at a place, my wife and i were going to be about 10 min. late. so we told them to go ahead and order without us. when we went in set down. we ordered and had our food 15 min after ordering, while it took another 15 to 20 min for them to bring out our friends food. now keep in mind the way they treat the workers here is embarrassing. my wife and i treat them well because thats the decent thing to do and we tip based on service. as a result we get the same waiter every time that knows what we like. so when we sit down he brings our usual drinks over as we sit down. then asks if we are getting the usual foods. their are times that i dont want the drink he brings me but i never say anything because im just as happy with the tea he brings me. of course their are times we have less then stellar service, but its ok. because all the great service far out weights the bad service. to me this is a classic case of entitlement vs. treating people how you want to be treated. i want to be treated well so i treat people well.

Anything that has value is worth paying for. I lay asphalt for a living and one day I gave a man a price for paving his driveway. Needless to say he didn't like the price. He told me that he had got another bid that was half the price. I told him be careful, you get what you pay for. He got the other guy to do it and one year later he paid me to fix his driveway because it was falling apart. True value is worth paying for and not understanding that can cost you even more like this guy I'm telling you about.

re-watching some of these older videos. That's my favorite quote from the 67 steps. "To get what you want you have to deserve what you want. The world is not yet a crazy enough place to reward a whole bunch of undeserving people. My deserve-it factor has went up significantly since finishing the steps. And every time I re-watch another youtube video or rematch one of the steps again, it keeps me on my grind, chizzling away at that rock shaping my good life. Thanks for the free youtube vids and I'm glad the steps weren't free. Because honestly if they were free, I wouldn't have valued the knowledge so much. I saw it as investing in myself and my future.
side note, I've been wondering like crazy when your clothing line is releasing for sale. Can you give me any clues or let me know when those shirts are going up for sale, because I swear I can't wait for them. Tell us on your snap!

Its funny bc I was just thinking how about this for the past 2 days. How come I couldn't have been born into a rich family, or how come I'm not more well off then the next guy.
Started thinking what you said. I'm not owed anything. I have to work for it like everyone else & maybe work alot harder then everyone else.
Also just sharing ur knowledge is payment enough for ppl like me & or those freeloaders. You've opened my mind to things I never really thought about. You even convince me to read a lot more than I already am. So for free I couldn't ask for more! Great video

3 simple words that make all the difference in the common misconception of money being "the root of all evil" the- love- of (and what we're willing to do to get or keep it). God knows we need "money" to get through this life and we can be blessed as we earn the privilege to use "responsibility/accountability" wisely. We must remain (mindfully/spiritually) open to the opportunities that are around us all the time to benefit our interdependent societies and to strengthen us as a whole. In ALL ways look for a way to consistently "PAY IT FORWARD."

If there's anything that anthropology has taught me, it's that the root of self entitlement can go as far back as our childhood, children constantly being told that they're perfect or special and all of that adulation can lead to a nation where over 300 million people all think that they're entitled. Just one of the many things that can lead to self entitlement.

I think that 'worthiness' and 'deserving' are different. Also, the issue is complicated by the situation for women and by the reality that the economy does not need everyone to have a job. I do strongly agree that it is valuable to work for something and to get results. However, the reality is that people may get confused...a lot of it is the transition into adulthood when the painful truth is often: You mean now I am expected to work my butt off to have as much as what was given to me during my childhood? The answer is Yes. Face it, that is weird, at least at first, until someone 'gets it'.
