I have just turned 70 a few days ago and I have so many memories of watching the above and similar wildlife programme 's on my parents tv as a child now 60+ years on & it's gotten so much worse. The lovely gentleman Mr Attenborough is one of those people who have the knowledge to show the governments of our beautiful planet how to turn things around so that we can all do our best to work in harmony to save us all but if no one listens then I fear that in perhaps a 100 years or less it'll be all over for everyone and every race of man woman and animals.
We got another fascinating arctic inhabitant on camera: the snowy owl. Unfortunately, if the number of lemmings keeps dropping, things will get more challenging for them to survive. Not only in terms of starving, but they also don't lay eggs if they don't find enough food, so we might see fewer snowy owls in the future.
*Two years ago I visited a place called Churchill in Manitoba Canada. I went on an excursion in an all terrain vehicle called the Tundra Buggy. It was massive. We drove out and saw 4 polar bears, but the highlight came when a large male attacked a seal and got it. That seal had blood spurting out in garden hose size streams everywhere. It was over for him in about 30 seconds. To see it all unfold from 110M away was something I won't ever forget.*
Why the heck do you want to see this, when there is so much beauty and perfection in other things of nature to witness. It is frightening and brutal, and the bear had no choice but to do it this way. The only positive in this was that 30 seconds was not such a long time. For me, witnessing even 5 seconds of this would not be a welcomed experience.
When you realise you saw this already on TV years ago and then it's re-uploaded so many number of times😅😂 I remember watching it live on Sony BBC Earth in India at 9 PM in the show, "The Hunt" This is an epic scene of nature!
There is more dark water than ice showing us the deeper impact of global warming, and its effect on the habitat and livelihoods of other Earth beings. Thank you for this powerful message.
Kudos to that cameraman for having the patience to continue filming the now-vacant piece of ice with a high-speed camera, waiting for the bear to emerge.
I don't think it looks beautiful. Just very white. Very sparse. The cleaner cooler air, however, compared to the air in human occupied territories must be refreshing to breathe. Harsh, yet not as unforgiving as other territories...even human occupied territories.
What's wrong with 1080p? Do you have crappy vision? Most people cant tell the difference from 4K -1080p or 1400p. Clear is clear. It would appear you are all hung up on 4K and have it out for the BBC. This video was pure fine quality from start to finish. Be happy. Don't be that Debbie Downer that complains about every little thing to the point they actually make a few comments showing disgust. Wow. You must be fun at parties lol
Food (eating) is to be enjoyed, and appreciated. This bear only enjoys the feeling of being not hungry, after eating. That is all. Like a very young child.
When people speak of the beauty of nature (undoubtedly true), I also think of this, an event repeated countless times since the origin of animal life. Nature is beautiful but she is not gentle.
😢 A tough world for bear. A frightening world for seal. I am glad the bear caught the seal. I feel sad for the seal. This world isn't a beautiful world at all. As beautiful as it may appear, it is too imperfect. 🌍 vs ⚫. Earth vs Another Planet.
@@danny6_6_6 Actually, the polar bear is quite fast, but also quite patient if it had to sit at a hole waiting for a seal to emerge. And it's running on snowed landscape. Snow can be fluffy, slushy, packed, etc.
There are nature channels on youtube that have actual 4k videos btw, such as Deep Look. Kind of pathetic that a huge channel like BBC Earth clickbaits like this.
He created the heavens without pillars that you see, and He placed stabilizers on earth lest it shakes with you, and He scattered throughout it every kind of creature. And We sent down water from the sky, and We caused every noble pair to grow therein. This is Allah’s creation. Now show me what those besides Him created. In fact, the unjust are clearly lost. Glad the bear was able to seal the deal.
And deal the seal.
Incredible
Watching the migration of monarch butterflies was a journey of transformation, however, should we be romanticizing their epic voyage?

What a lonely, frigid landscape.
Incredible footage, regardless of when it was shot.

Nature is brutal and visceral sometimes.
The assertiveness of the alpha female in a wolf pack was a display of leadership, but it's a bit iffy to glorify these power dynamics, right?

That polar bear was vibin' but it's kind of funny how seal remotely was fast. 💜
Incredible. Holding breath so long and while attacking prey so impressive
I think polar bears can hold their breath for a while underwater, no?
