This was actually one of the most difficult shoots for the show because they had to get the camera on a wire that spanned the river to follow the progress of the web being built.
i was thinking about how difficult it would be to get these incredibly focused shots on just a small thread over 25 meters... but they did it and it looks fantastic
@@tunacharm
Yeah. I was thinking the same, that shallow depth of field.
Did they not use a drone?
@@ZergRadio
Not for this shot.
Cant wait till we just let AI do everything... 🎉
Wont be long now before the whole worlds on fire. 🫂🫣
More people need to watch these shows. Forty years ago I was watching "The Living Earth" and "Nature" and those nature documentaries instilled a love for ecology and biodiversity. Today, we are fortunate to still have decent documentaries like this that focus on the life without having to resort to shitty soundtracks and loud, nonsensical narration, not to mention unnecessary and often invasive interaction with wildlife. I guess some need greater entertainment value but that's a shame because our natural world is spectacular and the work that Attenborough and the BBC crews do to capture these moments is just as impressive.
It is a shame that with all the hundreds of "channels" we have now, nature shows get buried under all the mind-numbing distractions.
100 % true.. The older documentaries are more in tune with the animals than today's, which I feel focus more on loud soundtracks and the new technological equipment that's been enhanced for our viewing pleasure.
Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, with Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler.
Growing up in the late 60's early 70's nothing even came close. For over 20 years it was without equal.
Thank you for this amazing research and footage
*Tougher than steel and softer than cotton* 🕸
What an amazing little spider...🕸 ❤🕸
I'm surprised she doesn't just stand there slamming her car door slapping her dead fish on her bridge...
@Doidera-kw2sr ummmmm....I'm not an overt fan of spiders....but...
God put them together for sure. I love all of these creatures I have found a new love for spiders. We need them!
@@Gabriel.1985. yeah man keep spiders real...
Not sure what’s more amazing, the spider or the photographer. 🤯
This is how the world wide Web began? The spider deserves royalty
Are you asking or are you telling?
Bruh
Hahahahaha 🤣 good one
Spiders are amazing creatures.
Spiders are a treasure
😮 Im afraid of spiders but this spider girls' talent is damn amazing and impressive. Wow.
I have terrible arachnophobia. Small ones, big ones - it doesn't matter. I usually cannot watch even a documentary of them. However, she didn't frighten me. I am glad I was able to see this doc in its entirety. Well done doc.
all spider can shoot web , which is yucky
Personally I would rather watch nature than Netflix
Nature & chill
you tellin me netflix's masterpiece "cuties" isn't on your list of things you want to watch? 😂🤢

Incredible little spider! So powerful for such a small creature. Thanks for sharing this video.
Absolutely fascinating!!!
spiders are the
true architects
I am speechless at this! Incredible.
What a talented and beautiful artist!😮😊
Sheer poetry to watch. Ingenious insect very capable of taking care of herself
This whole video itself is 10 times better than the entire plot of madame web
Thank you for this amazing video!!
wonderful! Congratulations BBC, always excellent
The way of folding of the threads is amazing
I have never seen spider throwing web up and close personal...thanks to Peter
I have seen these crazy lines in Italy too. you can easily spot them when there's a single thread reflecting the light between 2 trees
Here in Canada, too. I think that's just a quick mode of transportation for spiders.
By the way, your voice is amazing!
Sir David Attenborough. A legend of nature documentaries.
Nature, Attenborough, absolutely mind blowing.
Love nature more than the human race itself!
The wonderful wonders of nature Spiders are one of the most amazing creatures. Throwing nets is an effective method for hunting insects. Genius spider. Thank you, BBC.
Loved watching it reel in all that silk like a tiny fisherman. Waste not, want not.
Its so insane how a 1-2 cm creature casually shoots a 25m rope over a river
nice camera work
Nature is amazing wow
Spiders are absolutely FASCINATING ❤❤❤
Anything that catches pests, especially mosquitos, is my friend.
This is absolutely mind blowing. This is the most evolved land creature on earth!
Me personally,… I’ve always been so interested in spiders 🕷️
So you must also waiting for Spiderman : beyond the spider verse
I'm severly arachnophobic, but I still find them endlessly fascinating.
I like watching them in documentaries, so that I don't have to worry about them being close.
@@jippalippa 😂 what is to fear about them
and robbing gas stations, right?
Same here, not just spiders but most apex predators intrigues me.
Absolutely Amazing!!! Nothing that Man makes, or can create, is not able to equal Mother Nature! It fills me with Awe!! Thank You for this Super Video!!😊😊😊😊
This isn't a new video. BBC included this in a previous documentary some years ago - sorry I don't recall exactly when. The narration may have been re-recorded with an older David Attenborough, but the footage, pote tially exactly the same based on memory, is certainly re-used. That said, the natural abilities of this spider are, and remain, absolutely amazing. Spiders are incredible creatures in ability and intelligence.
... It Could have been The BBC Documentary About... I'm Not 100% Sure that It Wasn't About SPIDER'S... YEH!.... Greetings from Saturn 🪐 3:53
A string of web stretching from one end of the earth to the other is strong enough to stop a jet airliner mid-flight.
she's as elegant as they come
Wow amazing
That's was really cool watch. I really do learn few things about animals and insect just watching BBC videos.
Incredibly amazing !
Spinnen sind einfach toll. Gruss Jürgen 🤠
They are the octopuses of the insect world
There is no other voice I'd like to listen to more when describing or talking about nature other than Sir David Attenborough's. It's not just his voice but also his deep understanding of the subject that takes you on a captivating journey of its own 😌🙏
RIP, dragonfly.
Wow, so amazing the way it wraps up.
Just like an orb weaver spider
Amazing creature
Her strategy is simple, wait till I walk into a single strand and laugh at me flailing around in a panic.
That's so cool. I love nature's creations 🕸🕷
This film footage is awesome 😎
Wow, never knew, that the female spiders can spit out a 25 m long of silk. Amazing how they catch their prey. Thanks for your contribution to my knowledge. God bless 🙏🏿❤️
I like the way the silk reflects light
These shots are amazing.
Amazing! Both what nature does, and how it has been so nicely photographed!
I love these videos❤
Damn.
Sorprendente e increíble. Trabajo de las arañas
Arachnid engineering 🕸️🕷️🕸️🕷️
Incredible creation from an incredible Creator
I had a web in my yard last year that spanned a 20 gap between trees. It had to be done in a similar way to this spider. The body shape and proportions of the spider in my yard were very similar to the vid spider also. Southern Indiana
Impossible footage!!! Until you did it...
So amazing!!
شكرا على الفيديو
Fascinating!
If you're ever up late at night, and get the chance to watch a spider spin its web, watch and enjoy.
Simply Amazing!
“Tougher than steel.”
Someone walks up and smashes the web with a steel bar. “Who’s tough now?”
Scientists still can't figure out how such a small creature can produce so much web - nature is so much superior
Maybe you haven't figured out
But there is plenty of research on it
Wow....Walk into that..that's when you find out you know karate.
Mind boggling!!! 🤷🏻♂️
Attenbourough you beauty ❤🎉
Nothing worse than walking through a spider web in the morning. Makes me feel violated every time.
Just wonderful ❤
Magical 🥰🥰🥰🕸🕸🕸 Love them.
I can't believe there's an entire subset of animals that eats the strings that come out of their butt just in case they need to make more butt string later.
Ok spider 🕷️🕸️
Okay. I'm impressed. I felt my jaw drop at the length of the initial strand.
Woow so amazing😮❤
wow i didn't know little spiders make a sound like a fishing reel
😄 I love the BBC sound effects!
so interesting , had no idea such a spider existed.
Wonderful ❤
Amazing
Amazing!
amazing 😍
Love Spiders 🕸️🕷️ and this is so marvelous to view in HighDefinition... I've even grown to 🧡 Octopuses too 🐙 their Intelligence is captivating 😁🎒📚
wooooooow 😱😱😱
Great
Awesome
So that's what I've been walking into when outdoors...interesting 🤔
How does a spider even generate webs in their body . Only Toby Mcguire can do it without a formula 😂
Super !
nature is just mind boggling 😜
I love it when scientists are baffled....God knew what he was doing when he created the impossible. Just like a bumble bee....thanks for this! Hate spiders but much respect to her - what a great creation!
Your gods don't exist, sorry to say. ;) This is just plain ol' evolution doing it's thing.
When I see a spider it just committed suicide.
Now I can imagine how spiders build that trap network
if something came out of me that long i'd die.💀
Wow
Sooo busy!
