I think with Doctor Strange that it's more about the fact that he was extremely skilled. He could save other targets, which we already know is possible thanks to Winter Soldier.
Agreed. Hydra's whole plan in Winter Soldier was to commit full-scale genocide against anyone and everyone who could potentially form a resistance against them as they rose to power. Even without knowing that Dr. Strange would become the Sorcerer Supreme, his surgical skills and rebellious personality that they couldn't easily manipulate to their side was enough to mark him as a threat.

it's not, it's said to be that it's set just after 'Iron Man 2' and the whole film spans over the time until after Civil war, because he's been learning how to become the sorcerer supreme over many years. So therefore they've been watching him learn the arts and things like that. The final credits scene may actually be the only one set in 2016, because clearly his magic has evolved by being able to change Thors cup.
Zarbi Xii or the more obvious explanation of Dr. Stranger happens before winter solider, Iron man's element has selective use, the leader hasn't taken center stage as a villain and exist on he's intellect rather than cartoonish scheme, Thanos stole the Gantlet and didn't want anyone on his scent so he had it replaced with a replica seeing as no one knows he has the gantlet outside the audience and finally Ironman arc reactor functions as a super magnet which has been slowly pulling the pieces of metal close to the surface but at the price of poisoning him. He loses himself in the role of " Iron Man " and when he is finally ready to not be the hero again he takes it out only to realize that the reactor wasn't what made him Iron Man.
Doctor strange is set in 2016. When he has his accident the car radio says that a former army colonel needs surgery after breaking his back. Thats rhodes' accident from civil war. Proof that it's set after Civil war.

That's a good movie. I mean i dont know a true DC fan that doest like the movie.
So ok it's not a kid movie "ha ha" full of shit joke and teenage pretentious humour like Marvel's MCU. This movie actually try to ask some logic questions about the position a super hero should have and respect, and the only marvel movie that ask itself thoose kind of question (what a hero with power should do about institution, rules, internationnal relations etc) is the Civil War arc.
So no sorry, from a numerous points of view, the film is good
Visuals, world design, caracter constructions, acting (with a crazy good Ben affleck in batman, even if your the kind of kikoo that "does not like ben affleck because Christian bale was good), and a big part of the scenario actually make sence.
This movie have one big default : The way the movie bring Doomsday on the table is actually shitty. It's true, and even I can recognize that. But just saying that the movie is bad because the great media and snob reviewer said it, does not actually make it a bad movie.
Batman V. Superman doesn't have the coherence that good films have. It has good elements, but they don't flow well together because the editing is horrendous. Also, a film can have any tone or any level of maturity and still be good. The "kiddy Marvel movie" argument never works. Superman The Movie is one of the best movies of all time, and it is like the Marvel movies.
Also, not all art has to reflect the current political climate. Of course, Civil War, along with Iron Man and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, do this perfectly. Art can also reflect the state of the human psyche and arguably is the best when it does address this subject. For example, Guardians of the Galaxy is about people coping with grief, either with laughter and friendship or isolation and violence. Doctor Strange is about recovering from an existential crisis and rebirth.
Stark used the extremis virus to fix himself. Thought that was pretty obvious.

Without hitting google, I don't actually recall them making that obvious in the movie either.
That being said, I always thought it was kind of silly that Stark couldn't find a doctor good enough (Cough-Strange-Cough) to do the operation to remove the shrapnel shards.
Also, that whole scene in Iron Man 2 where he asks pepper to remove the Arc Reactor makes no sense: If its just something on the outside to hold the shards in place, then why does it seem to go deep into his chest cavity, perhaps replacing his heart altogether (as he seems to suggest, as he said he will die if the backup isn't connected quickly).
My only answer to this scene is this: He was playing a HUGE practical joke on pepper! ^_^
Somehow he built a fake chest she could reach into, and did all the necessary acting just to scare her (he's a big enough dick to do that you know ^_^)
Doctor Strange starts off before the events of Winter Soldier. He was training the entire time through Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Civil War and the end battle takes place after Civil War. It's just like how Spider-man Homecoming, Thor Ragnorak and Black Panther are all happening simultaneously and will leads straight into Avengers Infinity War.

There was an easter egg in Doctor Strange referencing a man with a spine injury, presumably the one we see in the videos with the failed suits that Tony Stark shows during his trial (or w/e that was).
That is incorrect. Go back and re watch Doctor Strange. Right before his car crash, he puts on a Watch that has the year on it 2016. Winter Soldier is clearly in 2014 and Age of Ultron is 2015 as Confirmed in Thor: Ragnarok by Hulk's 2 year transformation when Thor says, "Sokovia was 2 years ago." One of my gripes with Doctor Strange was they never really explained the timeline of his training and if it truly was months or a year, why did it take Kaiceillus so long to bring Dormammu.
Well if Dr strange got the time stone couldn't he train in any time period he wanted. Or at least they could explain it away as some sort of time dilation due to Dr strange messing with time. I dunno.

You're forgetting a tiny but weird part in Winter Soldier. In the movie, a random Penske truck saves Fury in his chase scene. Later on another Penske truck kills the hydra man that was grabbed and thrown out of Cap's car in the highway scene. A lot of people speculated it was the Punisher and the directors of the movie said the guy driving the truck had his own agenda. But after watching Daredevil season 2 it's obvious it's not the Punisher so one has to ask, WHO WAS DRIVING THE PENSKE TRUCK?

Unlikely, in the show when DD and Punisher are in the graveyard, Frank basically says he went to war in Iraq or Gulf War (I forget) and when he got back he said he was tired. So the next day after he got back that's when they had their picnic and that's where his family got killed and that's when he got put into a coma. So it's not so much a plot hole as it is that in the MCU the Infinity Gauntlet is part of a pair that have been separated for some reason.
The Gauntlet is just a conduit to harness the power of the Infinity Gems, so I guess there was two made so the wearer could chose one depending on what their dominant hand was.

Doctor Strange's film covers about 9 months. The accident takes place about 1 month before Peggy dies in May 2016. The part with him going to different places trying to get fixed is about 4 months long, he arrives and gets admitted to Kamar-Taj about 3 months after Black Panther. He's in training for 5 months until the fight in Hong Kong in March 2017.
The ending credits scene with Thor occurs in Fall 2017

The point at number 1 is wrong. Marvel has said that Doctor Strange is set around the same time as Iron man 2. Well in the beginning anyway. Hence the line in the car before the crash about saving someone with a spine injury from a mech suit. Referring to Hammer's failed suit in the court scene in Iron Man 2.

I'm not saying the whole film. But it starts earlier than 2016. Kevin Feige has said it's set over a number of years that brings it level with the current state of the MCU.

It's possible, there was a Chinese surgeon but sometimes they use more than one surgeon. Also, Doctor Strange is most known for neurosurgery but he is an expert at all types of surgery, evidenced by saying he could have done better surgery on his entire body just after his accident.

Defected Russian agent is her backstory. A movie on her origins will likely not answer any more questions. I mean the questions in this video are basically "Who are these random names of people we don't care about?" and "How does Hawkeye know stuff?" The answer to the first is, seriously, who cares? The answer to the second is that Black Widow gets around (which should be pretty obvious when she's gotten to the point of flirting with a huge green monster). The first Avengers movie makes it pretty clear that Hawkeye and Black Widow were involved at some point, so why do we need a movie to see how that went down?
Don't get me wrong, a Black Widow movie could probably be cool, but my point is we do not need another origin story. We are way too far into the MCU to start going backwards now. The same applies for Hawkeye's origin or Nick Fury's origin. There are so much better things to see (like the Inhumans movie that has been put off, possibly forever).
A solo Black Widow movie has to happen. It just has to, particularly to answer the origin and past backstory. Just a thought, though: who plays the younger Natasha Romanov? Scarlett Johansson is the only Black Widow, but I don't think she can portray a teenager anymore, despite her level of talent.

The car he crashes, Lamborgini Huracan, started being made in 2014, so at least thats when the movie takes place. Also, the Avengers tower is seen, so it takes place after Avengers 1 or 2.
Yeah but there was a small easter egg when Strange was offered a case when a man broke his back when he tried on a Stark Tech-like supersuit. It's been confirmed that they were talking about the soldier who broke his back during the test run of the Hammersuit during Hammer's court hearing in Iron Man 2. So, obviously this takes place well before Avengers 1. But right before he fights Mads Mikkelsen's character the first time, Wong mentions that the Avengers protects the Earth from physical threats. That means that from the time of the beginning of the film up to this point, Thor and Avengers already happened.

The xray that is shown in the movie has the date 2014. so add to that the time he trained, came back to the USA, the dude recognizes him and tells Strange about him. On the subject of Tony Stark creating the new element in Iron Man 2...it wasn't bad assiumTony's father Howard mentions in his Expo video "revolutionize the future" and no more. Tedious work... If you remember from the first Captain America, Howard is analyzing a tiny piece of what was fueling the Hydra weapons as an energy source and it destroys part of the lab when it is touched,... Howard being a Genius engineer had reverse enginered the piece of teseract that he was analyzing, Howard could not finish his work and leaves a message for Tony on video disguised as outtakes for Howard's Expo introduction, telling Tony.. HE is the key to the future, and Tony being a genius figures out that his father is showing him how to piece together and finish Howard's work with the scale model of the Expo itself wherein Tony finds the makings of a new element Howard discovered but was unable to synthasize it because he was limited by the technology of his time..not only that but Howard perhaps felt the world as it was wasn't ready for such power and feared it getting into the wrong hands . The proof that Howard and Tony replicated the Teseract is that when Loki touches Tony's Arc Reactor with the New energy source within it the scepter containing the Mind Stone is unable to act upon Tony because essentially the element in Tony's chest piece is teseract in essence, proof that the two energies of the gems cancel each other out is when Eric Selig gets his mind back he directs Natasha to place Loki's scepter within the portal to touch the teaser act the shut it down as a fail safe stating "you cannot fight,.. You cannot defend against yourself, meaning the stones cancel one another out when their energies are used against one another,touching skin has nothing to do with why the Mind Stone failed to work ,an ultimate power of th universe would not be hindered by primitive clothing and a primitive earth alloy.essentially the element Howard Theorized and Tony created mimicked the behavior of the Teserect in Tony's new element in that it absorbed the power surge of the Mind Stone in Loki's sceptor and was defused. Ur right on everything but 1 thing. Loki failed to mind control tony cus the scepter needs to come into body contact but when he touched tony he touched the reactor so there was no body to control.
I think that because the substance the Tesseract is made of can contain an Infinity Stone that's also the reason it could block one.

The noises that the guns fire in captain america the first avenger, is the same noise when iron man blasts someone. The guns fired in captain america 1 were powered by the tesseract and you can clearly see that the tesseract and his technology are very similar because of the same sound you hear when iron man fires at someone.

The infinity gems in one could be the ignots chosen for the end of this universe. As the stones that are omnipotent and currently being hunted by Thanos are the active ones from the past universe. It would completely make sense for Odin (who get his power directly from Yggdrasil:the left over energy that caused the Big Bang) to choose, assign and be in possession of the gems that will survive this universe's eventual end.

If that is true I guess the finale battle (in Infinity War) will be between Obin and Thanos because the avangers can't defeat him so going by that thor can't so I'm guessing he will die and Obin in rage kills Thanos with the second hand.

Tapiwa Mamvura if you watched iron man 3 like I did 2 days ago by chance it took about 4s to use a laser or something to make it all while it burned a giant line through his basement but imagine how much power and time it would take make a suit plus its what he uses in his "batteries" so chances are electricity would spread throughout the suit and melt him in a second
+Dylan Mulvin 1, you're very right, and 2, once he gets the vibranium made, how tf does he shape it if it's impossible to mold or destroy ahaha. I only disagree with one thing, electricity wouldn't spawn in the suit lol, or even anything close to that. BUT it would be a good conduit of electricity so if someone like whiplash came after him, or someone even hit him with a tazer, bam, he's out. Scientifically speaking of course. But then again, his suit is iron? Iron conducts electricity? So he must just have a special and unknown way of preventing that. Like in the exoskeleton part of the suit that surrounds his torso and so on, like you see in avengers (2012) as he goes to threaten Loki and the suit is being taken off, piece by piece. Seemed to have rubber covering of some sort.

The element is probably fairly difficult to make in large quantities, or the properties that make it good in the arc reactor do not translate into good plate armor. There's a reason that they don't make planes out of the same stuff as the black boxes. Just because one metal is stronger than another doesn't mean it works better in the same places.
The HYDRA watchlist was for individuals that were calculated to become problematic, but they can't all be Starks or Banners, nor can the reasons for them to need to be killed be nearly the same. Strange was still a famous and skilled surgeon, the influence that was getting him was probably why he pinged the algorithm.

Actually, with the Tesseract Red Skull could see the future, in The First Avenger he isn't talking about him destroying the world at the end, but actually about Thanos killing 50% of the universe. It's likely that Red Skull simply wrote down everyone who he saw as a threat to Hydra all the way back in 1944, and this list was the foundation of the HYDRA watchlist.
Loki never killed Odin. At the end of Dr Strange, it said in the ending credits that Strange and Thor were looking for Odin.
He didn't go for the risky surgery to remove the shrapnel because he's a narcissist and thinks that he can solve all of his own problems on his own. He didn't want to go under the knife in a risky surgery because he didn't want to put his life in anyone else's hands. The ending of Iron Man 3 is showing that he's gained some humility, so he blows up his suits and goes through with the surgery, even though there is a risk he will die. This is pretty much his entire character arc in Iron Man 2 and 3, so I don't know how you could have missed it.
I think also, since there were several years between one and two and three that Tony has been working on a way to get the shrapnel out of his body and it took that long for him to come up with a plan he was comfortable with (Magnet above the operating table that doesn't attract the surgeon's tools... probably because they were plastic or something.) It could also be that by the time he came up with a surgical method that could work he was comfortable with his power and didn't want to be rid of it until the event of Iron Man 3.

I interpreted the narration at the end of Iron Man 3 that Tony found a cure for Extremis, so he first got it out of Pepper, then used it on himself so the operation wouldn't kill him and could finally get the shrapnel removed.
Franz Perez Plus its said in IronMan 3 that he uses some of the extremis virus to survive the surgery.
I did a little reading, and it seems that him using Extremis is implied rather than stated in most cuts. In the Chinese version of the film, apparently a Chinese surgeon is the only one skilled enough to perform the procedure, so Tony goes to him. This weakens the argument that he used the Extremis (though it could have been useful to grow back those missing chest-bones).
In-universe it would make sense for him to use it, but I think the film's narrative of letting go and redemption means that he didn't use it.

Also, Stark (and presumably Jarvis) already knew about vibranium, which has been mined in Wakanda for years (decades? centuries?) and was used to make Cap's shield. Why would Jarvis congratulate him for creating a new element, if it was just vibranium all along? (Did Stark ever even _name_ his new element, in the movies? I'm sure I would have remembered hearing the name "Badassium".)

As he said, the name came from a tie-in Comic. There is no mention of Badassium in the Films.
As for not using it for the suit, who's to say what kind of element it really is? Some crystals are great for conducting/absorbing energy, but not super-durable? Likewise, some metals are super-heavy and their weight-to-durability ratio is all out of whack.
You could also infer that it is was in his Hulkbuster suit perhaps.

Well, As we understand (and after making some research) Tony did used Vibranium components for His Mark 45 Suit we see in Age of Ultron. Tho not completely made out of Vibranium. I like to think of it as some sort of Vibranium-beta (Hint to Adamantium-Beta and all the other Adamantium's)

It makes sense that the beginning of the film takes place in IM2 given the reference to the victim of experimental armor. Then Strange must spend years looking for cures because the Ancient One mentions the Avengers after he is nearly done with training (which takes a year at most).

Because the generator only controls the engines. Unlike the modern planes today, not EVERYTHING was controlled by the engine/powersource/whatever the heck the like to use now. The flaps and gears in the wings and tail were probably wired to the steering wheel or the control panel at the front, meaning that in case of an engine failure you'd still be able to move them (somewhat) manually!

I've been wondering about the plot hole referring to Arnim Zola's algorithm too! Ever since that hydra double-agent spilled the beans in "Winter Soldier!: Unless the events in Doctor Strange actually take place right after Iron Man 2. The setup is in the scene in Dr. Strange when Stephen is asking his assistant for new cases. The assistant mentions a certain Air Force Colonel who's spine was injured during an experiment body armor test! That poor fellow was the guy that Stark shows to the congressional panel. The suit he's wearing actually turns his torso completely around! To which Hammer replies, "I want to point out that guy survived!" (That's the colonel that Strange's assistant mentions.)
IMO that's the only way to tie in this particular plot hole and I applaud you for mentioning it!
With how the sorcerers do battle in other dimensions it's entirely possible for the events in Dr. Strange to take place with only a few organizations knowing anything about it. Namely Shield (who at this time has already been infiltrated by Hydra.)
IMO it all fits and if you want to watch all 15 movies in the true timeline order then Dr. Strange has to be #5 on the list between Iron Man 2 and the 1st Thor movie.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Until someone can convince me otherwise. ;-)

Chances are that they were keeping an eye on Strange to recruit him, as he was the foremost expert on neural surgery and Hydra has a thing for mind control. Also, Strange was mentioned as having consulted for SHIELD in the past. It's an Easter Egg self-referencing a previous Easter Egg.
As to the Colonel with a spinal injury, it has been stated that it is referring to Rhodes but the test pilot of the Hammersuit. There is no reason to assume it's a new injury, as Strange is referred cases that are considered impossible, and the Hammer test pilot would still have a spinal injury regardless of what year it is after the incident.
As to the Infinity Gauntlets, Odin has a right hand Gauntlet with inset gems in his case, while Thanos has a lefty with empty sockets. Doesn't take much brain power to work the implications of that out. And yes, Loki just needed to teleport Odin to Earth before waking from his Odin Sleep, take his appearance, then "wake up". Again, pretty much implied, no real mystery.
We know where Abomination is, and we know that the US Army has him. We'll either see him later on or not. The Leader is too smart to get caught this early in the story, so that's not really a mystery either.
Widow's ledger doesn't matter, nor her switching sides. Explaining everything detracts from the character, not adds. Same with Hawkeye.
Tony's Badassium probably needs a CERN sized collider to create in usable enough quantities (get it?), and we does even know if there is a CERN in the MCU as CERN was only possible due to the EU allowing a single machine to be built that so large it crosses borders of multiple countries. The MCU has not shown us an EU or a CERN. Which means Tony has either a smaller set up taking its time, or a larger set up still being built (probably in Texas as was originally planned in our universe). And yes, we are told through exposition that Tony used extremus to survive his surgery, after he saved Pepper by fixing extremus.
And the Red Skull was teleported, not disintegrated. He probably ended up where everything else did that was hit by his weapons, wherever that may be. Sure hope Marvel doesn't forget where they put him.

One thing you guys are all missing is that Strange's car crash takes place around the time of Iron Man 2 (as alluded to with the line about a broken back from experimental armor). Plenty of time between then and Winter Soldier for his movie to happen, or for him to go through a portion of his training.
