    I’m glad my dermatologist told me to stop using chemicals on my hair many years ago. It’s really a roll of the dice with harsh chemicals and you really have to stay on top of caring for it with treatments or it will likely break off because it’s weaker. I wonder if her hair was coming out or breaking off. The lady is complaining about not getting a relaxer more often which isn’t a good idea because there isn’t that much new growth so a greater chance of overlap and double processing.

    • @kyuubisgirl3232
      @kyuubisgirl3232 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I used to get my hair chemically straightened and I would almost always have chemical burns on my scalp because the relaxer would always start burning earlier than it would for others. I just gave up on it lmao

      @@kyuubisgirl3232 It seemed like no matter what precautions were taken, I would get scalp burns from relaxers. And sometimes when I would complain, the stylists would be slow to rinse me out and keep spraying oil sheen which wasn’t really helpful. I know now that the type of hair I have isn’t naturally very porous so that’s why it took longer to break down from the relaxers. But by harsh chemicals, I also mean permanent dyes because my hair broke off really badly from it because I kept using my regular stuff instead of using products for colored treated hair. I swore off all harsh hair chemicals for good in 2008. I’m not against them in general but against them in my hair. Not to mention those salon visits aren’t cheap.

    People don't understand, hair care is truly a Process. You cannot expect the same result when you've trained your hair one way then all of a sudden decide to change the entire development process.
    Black Hair is different. Not all but most of us have to train our hair, point blank. You cant go regular, than back to relaxer than braids then decide I want it straightened without some kind of result. It's bound to happen.

    • @UKImmigrationLawGeek
      @UKImmigrationLawGeek 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I find Black hair to be quite difficult. It is so hard to maintain it when it is natural. Also, although braided hairstyles are expensive, it is easier to maintain it. In respect of relaxing it, many people find that their hair cuts out and it is not easy to regrow. My hair is now very short. I used to have a braided hairstyle for many years, but it has cut out and I wear a scarf most of the time.
      Relaxing one's hair can often result in hair loss. Maintaining this type of style can be difficult and some people have sensitive scalps.

    • @UKImmigrationLawGeek
      @UKImmigrationLawGeek 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JohnDoe-1956 It often takes quite a bit of time to dry black hair. I don't know how much you know about it, but some people find that their hair "shrinks" when it is washed. This means that one's hair gets slightly curlier.
      Some people also find that to make natural hair to look neat, one has to spend ages combing it and also putting moisturiser in it. This is why some people also have it relaxed. This in itself can lead to things such as having one's hair actually falling out over a period of time, which can happen if one has a sensitive scalp.
      Furthermore, if one has relaxed hair or has a weave, this must be maintained because if this is not done on a regular basis, one's hair can be damaged.

  • @Sweetheartbabez
    @Sweetheartbabez 2 ปีที่แล้ว +44

    As a black woman , we all know relaxers are damaging! 🤣🤣 Like sis, you would have had a better chance suing the company that makes the product than her. And yes, relaxers burn!!! I believe the Plaintiff, but she did a bad job explaining hair loss. I suspect it wasn’t losing hair by the roots due to a scalp burn, but hair breaking off because of an improperly applied relaxer. This is exactly why many women of color have stop relaxing their hair and gone natural. Why ? Because these hairdressers apply relaxers too strong or improper resulting in breakage near the roots and loss and thinning of hair.

    Lady, a ponytail can cause your hair to fall out. Age can cause your hair to fall out. How can you possibly prove that the service the defendant gave you caused your hair to fall out?

    Braiding does not cause hair loss! Hair naturally sheds about 70 hairs a day so if you have braids, the shed hair stays in the braid until it is unbraided. This causes people to think they have hair loss but it is natural shedding

    When you repeatedly have strong chemicals put on your hair to change the color or the texture then eventually it starts breaking and/or falling out.

    My hair is ramrod straight. Perms font take the same on each side so one side curls the other goes stiff. Women need to accept the kind of hair they were blessed with and just go with it.
