Great hard work mate, be very proud of yourself. She's come together very nicely and should be good for the maiden voyage home. Great support from the other guys as well, just makes the project that much special. When you get home that's when you can rest your weary hands Paul. ha-ha.👍👍
@ awesome. I’m restoring a 71 HG wagon in my carport. Same thing I’m no restorer. Just cutting rust out and then I’ll have to get it painted because there is so many different colours on it and rust repairs. I’d love to keep it old and ratty
Another amazing update, seeing the golden nugget progress from a bush wreck into a driving car has been awesome. Can’t wait for the next update and seeing you drive it around the test track. Such an inspirational build!
This was the boxing day binge watch I didn't know I needed! Love it! I always found coffee with cream, no sugar in the morning with ibuprofen and paracetamol on the bad chronic pain days helped. Not medical advice!
I’m glad you chose an LC, they are just overall a better looking and built car than the LJ ! Less plastic, and so evenly balanced. Just add a bit of work to 3 litres, triple SU’s and the extra trimming, and I’ll be happy reliving my twenties
I was going to say nice job with the air dam, it's good to have at least one shiny thing on the car. But then you went and added the fuel cap, two shiny things😎. Shame about the weather holding things back, but you can't control everything
I love this series, thanks for all the work you have done to record it. It's a great back story, brining a torana back, the whole thing is epic. Good luck with the last week, but you dont need it, you'll make it happen.
Bloody awesome mate. Do us and yourself a favour man wear a mask when your sanding that shit. I know they suck but slowly suffocating to death later in life ain't worth it. Loving your work! Ps your little image inserts crack me up!!!!!😂😂
Led lights look great wish they were around when I had my HR Ute back in the day make driving at night a bit brighter & that local coldie beer you were having matches the golden nugget🤣😂 the nugget is coming along just perfect well done mate👍
Glad to see the garage chin spoiler on the car mate, 18th Bday present that I never got to mount on my LJ from the Ol' Boy looks a million dollars and is in the right place. Good work mate.
Lovin this build, but it's bringing back old regrets of having to sell my LX SS, those headlights with the retro look look amazing, i've seen Tories with modern ones in & they just look stupid, keep up the great work, from Brissy.
Pauly this video was well worth the wait. I can’t believe how far the nugget has come in such a short time. Very inspirational for us guys with projects at home. Can’t wait for the next episode!!
Mate you have done awesome job so far was in Perth mid November for my daughter's wedding what a big place good luck for the rest of the build will keep watching ,they are a great bunch of guys and I follow dom ,and Byron as well , cheers , shaneno, nelson, nz, 🍺👍
Bloody awesome stuff mate looks tough will be a beast when it's done she's Gunna turn heads mate I just can't believe what you have done from a rusted dented forgotten classic to a beast top job mate ❤
its come up good when you were making the accelarator linkage i thought damn i've got the exact piece he needs sitting on the shelf in the garage lol came with a 138 out of a torana think you said you'll be passing through mildura too 😉😉😉🙃🙃
Damn, starting to look pretty much like my LJ 🤣 173 with a 2 barrel ?, shit can't remember, manifold and extractors of a crashed 186 gtr, went like the clappers, amazingly economical as well with that set-up
Great progress Like seeing ingenuity and using what’s on hand I also like to two different golds your using make is more interesting along with the patina Did have a question how did you get it registered without a heater demister?
@ Was made to fit one to my 67 year model car when I took it for inspection In WA no exceptions is what they said (when I lived there) You got lucky Keep it moving forward
Different states different rules I guess. Modified cars have to have them but if it’s standard and didn’t come with it, it’s not required, that’s NSW anyway
Love it mate. Would youtubes be interested in a hd ute. All the motor from small to 202. Plenty of parts. In a garage. Old 85 . 3 moth's do live selling everything tolls. God on ya guys. Mick the gong. )

Cheers man much appreciated. Hands definitely need a good rest 🍻
Mate it looks tuff. I’d leave it as it is and do another Torana as I full resto. You’ve done so good in a few weeks. I love it
Cheers man, one thing I’m not is a restorer, I do have a few plans for it but it’s definitely keeping its bush find look!

Cracker video mate love the chicken as the supervisor 👌🏻

Lovin this build, but it's bringing back old regrets of having to sell my LX SS, those headlights with the retro look look amazing, i've seen Tories with modern ones in & they just look stupid, keep up the great work, from Brissy.

Thank you
Whats the plan after you get back Sydney? Are you going to pull it down for a full restoration?
Not into restorations per se but I do have some pretty cool plans for it which includes removing 2 doors
Damn, starting to look pretty much like my LJ 🤣 173 with a 2 barrel ?, shit can't remember, manifold and extractors of a crashed 186 gtr, went like the clappers, amazingly economical as well with that set-up
Yeah nice. It goes great as is but looking at triple SU’s cause it does feel like it needs more air and fuel
Great progress
Like seeing ingenuity and using what’s on hand
I also like to two different golds your using make is more interesting along with the patina
Did have a question how did you get it registered without a heater demister?
Cheers, novelty plates but the the heater was an option on the LC’s in 72 they became mandatory

Was made to fit one to my 67 year model car when I took it for inspection

You got lucky
Keep it moving forward
Different states different rules I guess. Modified cars have to have them but if it’s standard and didn’t come with it, it’s not required, that’s NSW anyway
Can you do a rough paint patina over primer, use original paint colour enamel over water single pack primer abit of water to upset it

Cheers 🍻
That chook though!!

The colour is called Etruscan gold I’m pretty sure. Looks like the door has been done in Sunburst gold.
