Great video. When you drilled the spring pocket for the 3/8 ball, was the hole drilled right under the groove in the flat part of the casting or down lower in the rounded part of the pocket? Thanks.
@@ClaremontClassicGarage Thanks man. I'm sure it's very difficult to record and work at the same time. I'll take my chances by myself. I think automatic transmission are a strange and mysterious piece of mechanical hardware. Drill a hole too big or in the wrong place and bad things happen. Or nothing happens. LOL... I bet I can I do it though. If not, I've got six virgin 727's to choose from plus 2 extra (untouched) valve bodies sitting on the shelf. But I'd prefer to see it done just once before I do it. I'm guessing yours went well or you wouldn't have made a video.
So i see 1-2 shift spec is .086 to .125, what would occur if you went with the 125 spec? will the shifts feels like it's going to snap your neck everytime it shifts? Planning on getting this TF2 kit for my 727.
As mentioned in the video C was already at the recommended limit of .125(1/8) and D was already bigger from the factory than the recommended limit although they said that was OK.
@@mikeroberts5646 Google a drillbit size chart and print it. It is the handiest thing to have in the shop. It will show the decimal sizes of Fractional, number and letter drills in ascending order.
@@mikeroberts5646 All of this wil apply to a 904 exactly the same as a 727. Just don't go too crazy drilling. Pick something in the middle and try it. You can always pull it back out and drill some more to taylor it.
Some of the mystery explained, love automatics, nothing else in 50 years except motorcycles.
Just what I’m looking for
Thanks for watching!

I'm sorry, I did this a while ago and i just can't remember.
Can't see what he's doing. Does any have video showing how the shift kit is done?
Sorry if the video doesn't answer your questions. I tried to be as detailed as possible without the video becoming 3 hours long. Its a balancing act.

@@ddogmog They're not that bad. Work slowly, keep everything clean and you will be fine.

Yes, the larger you go the more it bangs.
@@ClaremontClassicGarage appreciate the reply, thank you.

By the way mine is a A904 off a 318 Base Charger 71
Just want to make sure I don’t screw up
Thanks
