So, the manuel valve that you installed makes it a fully manual valve body? Probably not since kick-down is still a factor.. but not clear on exactly what the kit does to the valve body 😒 in my case i am missing the kick down linkage and need to make pressure high permanently.. good video but couple things didn't get cleared up here....
Nice video, very helpful. Ive got a tf998 torn apart at home waiting for me today. I just cant decide weather to leave out the 1-2 shift check ball. Its not a high performance application by any means, just a carbed 4.0 in an 83 amc eagle. Im doing the shift kit primarily to get rid of the 2-3 overlap and firm things up a bit. Im on the fence about tire chirping 1-2 shifts. I like them, but my 72 c-20 has been running with a tire chirping shift kit for 30 years and it sorta beat the shit out of the rear end. How firm is the 1-2 shift with the check ball left in but the rest of the kit installed?
Quite stiff, will chirp with your foot into the gas. See the video of the Newport drive along you can hear the shift: th-cam.com/video/6ZMKMouhGpU/w-d-xo.html
Thanks, I ended up drilling out the 1-2 shift hole with the larger drill bit but leaving the check ball in. It shifts decently firm, but not as firm as yours. ofc it could also be that there is a lot more power feeding yours.
Sweet! Thanks for posting your feedback too, i'm sure there's other guys that will find this useful. It's nice that we have a good community of comment'ers on here.
Transgo looks more involved than b&m. The thing I haven’t liked about B&m is after the mods the shift points are too soon. How does that compare to trango?
I proceeded as follows: take the TransGo drill plate ... mount it correctly .... instead of drilling, I marked the small portion of the valve body with a marker through the drill hole...dismantled the plate...took out my Dremel (or dental technician hand held drilling machine)...chose a small drill bit and erased the small wall.....this approach makes for a much cleaner result.....ACHTUNG!...if You are not used to dremel-handling...hold the thing with both of Your hands...take slower RPM....not to slip all over the place and ruin the valve body brain....
The series has been a huge help. Thanks!

Why did you not put a new seal on the kickdown shaft? All that work and dripping fluid under the car....

Do you have a link to purchase the kit? Thanks.
hice vídeo , could you send me that diagrama, I from Venezuela,
You skipped videoing the drilling ... This is the part that I find the most worrisome. so this video did nothing to help me ... Thanks a lot ...
You're Welcome!
Sounds like Maybe you ought to pay someone else to work on your car fella.
