The opening few sentences is a good example of what the later chapters needed: an editor. We start with Kirks perspective, then end up with Julians without a transition firmly established. It irritates me, but nothing can really be done about it.
Least Zren has an editor! Though I have it on good information the guy is a lazy bum so I wouldn't have high hopes of him.

something about the "Hunter ship lining up to pierce the freighter with its boarding proboscis" made me realize that ship combat in this universe is basically the same as the cell stage of the game Spore, or perhaps the game Flow.
like I get it's three dimensions and all that but basically you've become a macro scale single-celled organism when you enter combat in a ship

Im catching up with the last reading, it's saddened me knowing that. Because I know I will have to wait for every new episode, I could read but dude your narration and the voices of the characters are so great that sound like a professional audiobook, and I have hear a lot of audiobook. (I usually lisent the audiobook while reading the same book practice my English, good method to associate words with its correct pronunciation) 👍

The depression bit of this story is basically happening now in days.
If we don't have a world war, or if we don't start space colonization soon.
We will rehit 7 billion, and slowly decline from there, or we might not rehit 7 billion, but hit 6 billion, and start declining from there.
We need a reason to go on, and going on for no other reason than just because. Isn't enough reason to continue.
So. There seems to be three "6's" running around.
* The original that was captured and interrogated by US Intelligence...and eventually escaped.
* His back-up / replacement that was demoted for his unorthodoxy.
* And another back up (presumably) to fill the # 6 slot in the chain of authority.
The fact that the Author fails to understand basic world politics at a level where NATO would be having the colony, the tech and the SF teams instead of fucking UK and Canada working as independent entities. Not to mention the Iraq diplomat which acts as Earths emissary is just insane and immersion breaking

As a sidenote, good luck once you get past Warhorse. The essential reading order is... not quite accurate I feel, when it comes to the ordering of _Good Training,_ _Good Training Campions,_ and some of the other side stories.

That solid editing need is why I wish the Jenkinsverse, once finished, gets a solid professional editor behind them to turn this into a TV series. A lot of the beef descriptions would get cut.
@@sintanan469 Well, the descriptions can be rolled up into the visuals, and so will be cut by virtue of you having eyes. There appears to have been a bit of a memory leak though among the collection of authors of what was actually covered and what details are established and known. The repetition saps my energy for continuing to read... and so I've stopped reading it again...

That was a very satisfying... episode? part? chapter?
Rough rule of thumb is 10,000 words is about an hour of audio. So once we reach the points where Hambone was able to churn these things out monthly, we'll be seeing the chapters in 3 parts or maybe 4. Some of the insane chapters that I won't spoil run into the 60,000 range so those will be a big job.
Zren usually records these things in live streams, sends me the audio which I then do 3 passes over before giving it back. Every hour of audio takes me around 4 or 5 hours to get to this quality not including rereads of fudged lines or voice mistakes.
I enjoy doing this however so it's all good. I just want Zren to bury me in audio so we can start catching up to Hambone.

Second strike against the hunters! Second poke of the bear. Idiotic beyond belief! You do not strike and give the enemy time to adapt. You strike and keep striking ,until the enemy is no more. Anything else, you're "cruising for a bruising". In this case...people will die because the idiots got moral qualms.
Author is from Reddit with no idea of how the world works. Canada and the UK having all alien tech/leaders in space and working as independent countries is proof enough about the lack of real world knowledge. Best to ignore a lot of the plot that the story has turned into
