I literally had tears in my eyes at the sight of the shooting star, my brother would have been 61 today but he died of COVID last February. He never even saw his 60th birthday because he was on a ventilator, he loved the stars ✨ and the shooting star made me think of him. Thank you for such a lovely video ❤️
Imagine what the original settlers on svalbard used to think when they didnt have the internet to ask why there was random light in the sky in the depths of polar night! That must have been so strange for them!
The red cloud phenomena, the aurora, the stars, the ocean waves, the fire crackling, the moon, and the snow surrounded by the darkness of the polar night...be still my heart.
I am a warm weather person. I've always said that being born in Canada proved to me, that God has a sense of humor. You are gradually changing my way of thinking. "This is so beautiful!!!!"
Amazing Cecilia and Christoffer: the stars, northern lights, red cloud spectrum and the moon all in one (not to forget Grim). Just one of the reasons your channel is a must watch.
I’m of Nigerian/African descent and while I appreciate and wonder at the beauty of northern climates (even go on ski vacations on occasion), I absolutely luxuriate in warm, sunny climates and am at my best both physically and mentally there. If a warm ocean beach is available nearby, I thrive. I often wonder when watching your videos if there are any black or brown people of color in your community and if so what is their experience in terms of keeping physically and mentally healthy.
I have a friend who is a Composer/singer/songwriter/sound artist who was in the Artist in Residency in the Arctic (which was on Svalbard). she was there for 2 weeks. Mostly on a boat gathering sounds of water, ice etc. She ask the same question. "Will I be the only black person there." She did mention a bartender who was there. I actually saw a few videos he did but I can't remember his name. So yes but not very many. However there are some people from other countries other than Scandinavian and European countries.💕
We have a German shepherd mix who is... unenthusiastic about the water bowl, but her FAVORITE thing is going outside in the winter, even when it's -40°C, and just eating ALL the snow. ❄️
I can see why you love living on Svalbard. The magic you get to experience on the daily is truly something to behold. You capture it so beautifully. ❤❤
Cecilia, you truly have a gift for story telling! The fire outside was so lovely! Thank you for sharing all the beautiful skies, land, and ocean with us!
Absolutely wonderful! You captured a very rare phenomenon. I read about this red sky effect in a book published by the University of Tromsø’s Museum in 2006 called Arctic Lights which I bought at the Tromsø Museum. The book covers many types of unusual Arctic sky effects and has one chapter on the rare red sky effect seen from Svalbard during polar night. The chapter is written by Fred Signeres who at the time was a professor at UNIS on Svalbard. He might still be. Many thanks!
Your channel brings me so much life and insight into the magnificent Glory of God. I just had to subscribe after binge watching your videos. This one was so great!❤️
Watching your videos gives me so much joy. Your love of the polar night has given me a greater appreciation of the winter months. I'm learning to embrace the darker days and cold weather as a part of a natural cycle of life, instead of an inconvenience. As always, thank you for sharing your world with us. Much love from Atlanta, USA!
Same here! Up in Canada! Where I'm from we get as little as about 7hrs of daylight around Winter Solstice & it's often overcast too. I'm embracing these long, dark nights so much more this year!
That sky, the moon, the stars, the pink and blue, the northern lights, the shooting stars, the snow sparkling like diamonds! Honestly, it was so beautiful and magical. It made me happy and made me cry!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont stop showing us ur life… u have no IDEA how much i enjoy ur channel it makes me happy! And i feel like im there like im living this awesome life….i enjoy this channel More than the gossip ones lol 😂
Cecilia is a fantastic commentator! She’s able to slow us down, notice the details and the feelings; and capture the wonder of a different environment.
OK I am addicted to you and Christopher and Grim! I have struggled with this as I had ideas of what Svalbard should be like - no fake (although lovely) nails , no cleaning your windshield without proper gloves!!!!! But I have adopted! I love your beautiful and often unusual perspective and the beautiful drone work and editing and of course your music and OF COURSE Christopher’s cooking, Looking forward to more❤️
Those clouds were more frequent when the Space Shuttles were still being launched. The oxygen / hydrogen fuel they used added large amounts of water vapor to the stratosphere making them visible much more often.
I love how the snow shines like little glitters when Grim came home, especially when it looks like blueish. I know it's probably just a detail but I don't know the snow so I find it so impressive and beautiful.
The night sky is so beautiful!!! I'D prefer the months of darkness over the months of light! The sound of the ocean, the cold crisp clean air, the magical beauty of the night skies!! BLISS!!!!! Jim from boston massachusetts here!!
There was something special in your presence starting at 10:38, "What a day guys...." I felt like you were talking to us as if we were trusted friends. It was lovely. You were lovely. Thanks for letting us in. It may have had something to do with the awesomeness of that day. Thanks for sharing it and you in it. 🌺❣️🌺❣️ Grace in Sri Lanka
I adore how much in love you are with Svalbard and your life up there. It’s beautiful to watch you being amazed and how much you enjoy the scenery. One of the things that I love most is how you say “it’s a beautiful day, so so beautiful “. Thank you for sharing these wonders and seeing them through your eyes , with so much love , amusement and wonder is truly a blessing. Thank you so much !
The Red colour sky was a rare magical sight.as explained by you Cecilia the science behind it .the efforts you take in posting such unique moments is commendable.kudos to you .
I’ve been binging your channel since you had Kara and Nate visit and I had the great luck to be exposed to you, Christopher and Grim’s life. What an incredible life you live- I was in jaw dropping awe watching and hearing the magic of nature. Thank you!!!!!!
So beautiful, enchanting and yes Magical! The Universe, this planet we live on has so many mysteries to enjoy and yet be discovered! Your videos are incredible!
Your authenticity is so truly inspiring. I wish you, Christopher and Grim all the very best in 2022. When will you be able to see noctilucent clouds? I truly enjoy your vlogs. Stay safe and wishing you all the very best from my family in Florida to yours there in Svalbard and wherever else those you hold dear are located.
@@larrybarrett5810 I stayed there once on our fly/drive holiday, swam in surprisingly warm seas and enjoyed being at the other side of the Atlantic from where I live in southwest UK!
This video was perfection. I watch your channel videos on our big TV with the lights out & it’s like being right there with you. I love this so much that I have no words. Bravo, Cecilia, bravo! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Can’t get enough of your beautiful vlogs!!!!! I love the polar nighttime and northern lights and snow!! I live in the U.K. so it’s really magical!! 👍🏻🌻🌈🍦🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️🙅♀️
So beautiful, loved it!! The sound of the ocean, the red sky, shooting stars, the moon, your fire....what a perfect polar night day!! Thank you for sharing!!
Amazing! I felt like I was there 💫 I saw the shooting star🌟 And made a wish! I love the other cabin lights blinking on and off. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Awesome. Sitting by the fire outside watching the moon, shooting stars, northern lights and a pink and red horizon. We finally got snow over New Year's. After watching this I want to sit outside tonight on my hammock with a fire going but it's supposed to snow tonight. Ya know what? If it doesn't snow very hard maybe I'll still do it anyways.........
Polar night is proving to be so magical this year. You think it's too dark? Cecilia shows us the brightest spotlight of a moon, vivid aurora and the prettiest contrast of reds in a black sky ✨🌌🌕 This is nature at its best
That scenery is just... unreal. WOW. Pretty pink skies to the left, big bright moon to the right, and northern lights in between??? I would've sat outside all day in the cold just staring at the sky lol
Thank you for all your hard work on making these videos for us! I truly love seeing this part of the world. It’s remarkable. I never click on a video as fast as I do when I see yours pop up in my notifications lol ☺️👏🏻
A truly magical way of living where you get to view the best of nature in this darkness. It feels like you are taking us on a tour of a different planet. It is truly a life for the selected few. Love from India.
I was in Tromsø for new years and was super lucky to see northern lights on two nights! 💚 While I was there, I often thought of your vlogs and your life in a place even closer to the north pole. Thank you for sharing the beauty of that with us!
You have over 208,000 subscribers! That is a fantastic milestone! So well deserved; you post amazing content. Thank you and congratulations! Hugs and kisses to Grim. ❤️❤️❤️
Omg, watching this from Helsinki where the below 6h-long-day in December is a struggle, respect for your resilience during those loooong days with no light. And yes, it's pitch black!!! No wonder you were so happy to see the pink sky! I am sure the first rays of sun after the polar night will be a special delight!
I feel like only after living in Sweden for a while I can truely relate to your excitement about the light. Does not get AS dark of course, but you can still feel the difference in energy levels a lot. Loved the video :)
Wow you are so lucky to have all those happening together and thanks for sharing with us, I will not get to see it in person in my lifetime. So crisp and peaceful looking.
Cecilia, this is one of my favorite videos of yours ever. What a wonderful, miraculous day for you to film. The waves, the sky, the moon, the shooting stars, the northern lights…all of it. Just fantastic!…..
I saw 2 shooting stars and when you were lighting the fire there were several ORBs or spirits behind you! Beautiful video and love your energy and appreciation for life and nature. Namaste and many blessings 💖
So utterly real and so enjoyable because of that. My sleep patterns have been ruined long ago due to crazy work schedules and sometimes I get a bit too awake and my pulse rate jumps. Your blogs put me in another, gorgeous, mystical place with you three as guides for company in a magical land. And after a couple of videos, I’m relaxed enough to fall asleep easily and happily. These productions are therapeutic! 😁
Serendipity breaks through on an occasion. I am not one for cold temperatures. But you get to experience things I may never encounter. A blessing for living in far away places.
During the winter here in southeast Michigan, it seems that we see the sun every third or fourth day. Most of the winter is gloomy and overcast. So far this winter, we've only had three or four snows and many days of high winds. We certainly don't have any of the beauty and awe of the Polar night.
Michigan here too. I have sat outside before Light on my covered porch with my coffee and seen shooting stars, I've seen twice the northern lights in separate years and all this in the winter skies. I'm SE Michigan.
You were filming during a meteor shower, aurora, AND the crazy red sky! What a beautiful day that is! So lucky!!! That's so magical!!
Yess!! 😃
Amazing 😻
I literally had tears in my eyes at the sight of the shooting star, my brother would have been 61 today but he died of COVID last February. I am so sorry.❤️

Have you ever thought about writing a children’s book? Could be about Grim’s life up North during the polar night :)
Ouuu good idea!
I love this idea so much!!
Awww
No no, it has to be about a friendly polar bear that saves Christmas!!
That is a fantastic idea!!!
Your appreciation for the beauty you see is contagious, so glad I found your channel. Thank you for your enthusiasm and for every post

Grim just chomping on snow! He's so adorable!
This red/pink/purple sky is so beautiful !!
Watching these before bed always calms me down immensely, reminds me of how beautiful life is in and beyond and behind this moment
I am a warm weather person. I've always said that being born in Canada proved to me, that God has a sense of humor. You are gradually changing my way of thinking. "This is so beautiful!!!!"
Grim running toward you was just THEEEEE BEST! Oh my heart!
Amazing Cecilia and Christoffer: the stars, northern lights, red cloud spectrum and the moon all in one (not to forget Grim). Just one of the reasons your channel is a must watch.
The dark skies compensate for the absent sun by giving you a magnificent and colorful light show! 💙💚💗💜
I am beyond obsessed with Grim. He is the dang cutest

Love, love, love the natural "noise" in this video. The waves, the crunchy (dry) snow, and the crackling fire. The views are spectacular too!
That means it’s been 70 days since I ran across your channel and I’m very thankful I did!
