  • Heavy? What sorta person says the GT Zaskar, is...heavy? This do-it-all trail hardtail is lighter than Nukeproof, Ragley, Cube, and Vitus. About the same weight as my 2018 Cube Analog 29. GT, definitely did their homework, producing a quality rig for us passionate mountain bikers that do not have loads of cash to purchase a full-suspension.
The Sram SX components are definitely better than Shimano Deore & SLX. Ya just gotta take care of her and she'll get ya through any trail.
Just a quick mention to bike producers: It be practical, to equip mountain bikes priced over a $grand, with tube liners, unless tubeless. They sure do prevent flats. Not yet, but when this happens (always the rear tire!), I'll install tube liners.
The deep blue color frame is eye-grabbing in the sunlight. And I have abused the WTB i29 rims in the past, without ever having to true the wheels. Yes, this includes riding through an entire Winter. Every-damn-day.
The dropper post, is my first. Some reviews say it's cheap and unreliable. I have it perfectly set, and doubt I'll ever play with it. When it does fail, a simple rigid post, will be my back-up.
My only rants of the Zaskar LT, is: No lock-on grips! Any bike over $500, these days, should have lock-on grips. Hell. Even Walmart bikes have lock-on grips! Secondly: Those darn plastic pedals. If you're ordering (Purchased mine through Wiggle.com )or buying from a bike shop, a $one grand bicycle, they should come complete with a set of worthy platform pedals.
The Suntour Zeron 35 fork. I know. It's cheap. Again, Not all of us can afford a Fox 36 or Rockshox Pike. And I find the Zeron to be lighter and more bump efficient than the Rockshox Recon forks.
One more thing: Thank You for viewing my video! Many more of the GT Zaskar LT, in the very near future.
