To be honest, us Vietnamese people did not care at all about competition of countries in Asia. We just want to get out of the shadow of wars and develop along with the world. We have been criticized for what we have nothing to do with for so long, but we want nothing other than peace and growth. Back when ASEAN was an anti-Vietnam organization and since Vietnam joined, nothing happen besides the economic treaties and cooperations. We wish for peace and development in Vietnam, Philippines, and every country in the world ❤
But first, VN must stop being con artist anti China but corruption of the politicians and elites. The venders cheating tourists and ripped off customers.
The Philippines will face harder times ahead if they don’t stop borrowing tons of money from China. This will be this region’s greatest downfall in the short future: mountains of debt and the consequences of not paying it back. China will own these countries without the need for wars. It’s their Art of War strategy.
Among the countries that Vietnam loves the most on this earth, it is definitely the Philippines. Every year this country suffers from dozens and hundreds of storms and super storms, large and small, so people's lives are severely affected. From Vietnam, we hope that the Philippines will be strong and developed so that its people can enjoy happiness and prosperity to contribute to alleviating the suffering from mother nature
What you said is a big joke. Vietnam will never be a leader, not in the past and certainly not in the future. Vietnam's political situation is extremely unstable and corruption is very serious. How do I know? My relatives run factories and do business there. Vietnam is a country with a corrupt regime and rampant gangs, and the business environment is extremely bad.
Thai investors enter Vietnam first. That is the Amata Group that went to build an industrial estate. At the old airport in Saigon and bring Japanese investors to build factories in industrial estates as well. At first he thought of investing in Sihanoukville. But the Cambodian officials are rife with corruption. and changed the agreed upon location to another place, thus causing him to become distrustful that in the future there might be a problem of not being sincere Or change conditions easily When investing in Vietnam, there were problems with electricity and water supply. The Vietnamese authorities were diligent and hurried to solve the problem. As for the South Korean capital group, they did not come to Thailand. Because Japanese businesses are everywhere. and Thai wages are quite high In addition, the Vietnamese authorities are helpful in legal matters. Many rules neither collects taxes Nor is there to be a labor union. Set up a power plant to supply the factory. Including cheap labor Emerging markets that are beginning to grow and has a large number of workers
@@สุทธิศักดิ์มธุรพงศากุล Thai investors were not necessarily the first to invest in Vietnam when it opened up after the US embargo in 1995. And the reason why Korea invests more in Vietnam instead of Thailand will have the following reasons: 1. Workers' wages and operating costs to produce products are cheaper (of course) 2. Korea receives preferential policies and market potential (Another part is that during the US-Vietnam war, Korean soldiers fought in Vietnam. And to compensate for the war losses in VN, Korea invested heavily in Vietnam (according to the agreement of the 2 countries) 3. Closer cultural and ideological proximity 4. Yes. HQ did not think that the Thai market would be beneficial for them because Japan was everywhere. It was better to look for a new land that would be easier for development.

Competition is good to improve quality and know your weaknesses. What is not allowed is being hostile and bringing each other down, like China and the USA. Cheers from Indonesian ✌🏻
Its their mindset. The Philippines need to change their country's name first. Still honouring their colonizer King Philip of Spain. The Viet fought foreign powers for their people. The Philippines meanwhile dreamt to be the subject of King Philip Jose Rizal style or at least in modern time to be the 2nd Puerto Rico. Break the bubble first.
But Vietnam still worship Chinese culture and everything Chinese. They do pay a lot of attention to everything related to China everyday and wish to be accepted by China that vietnamese had roots from China. This is fact if you know vietnamese language. Vietnamese are very upset when China said vietnamese people were not originally from China.
one of the problem is electricity, in Vietnam it's only 8 cent per Kwh, while in Philipines it is around 20 cent per Kwh. Without cheap electricity, u cant focus on developing mass producing industry even though the GDP per capita of 2 countries is the same
I see, its a hard lesson, privatization electricity only works with developed countries where the source and production are abundant. For most developing countries, it's more like big mistake.

The list is long for the Philippines: - Lacking infrastructure - Too many strange rules and too much bureaucracy - Corrupt politicians - Too many who believe that God will solve their problems (he won't) - Too many who believe that the Americans will solve their problems (they won't) - Inability to accept that trade with China is the key to success in Asia I've been travelling extensively in the Philippines and Vietnam the last 20 years. As a Vietnamese, I affirm that my country has achieved such success thanks to the correct orientation of the state, especially ensuring political stability and social security, especially controlling social evils such as alcohol and drugs. This success is largely due to the contributions of many leaders, but the role of Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, who appeared in this video, is not true to reality. During his leadership, corruption and extremely high public debt were created. He does not deserve to appear in the video as a representative.
Don't be mislead, because in real life, Vietnam held the Philippines in high regard. We don't care about Vietnam economically better than the Philippines but want both to have economic growth so all people can truly escape proverty. Philippines: From no.1 to no.7 in ASEAN 😪😪😪 Today, we are hanging up as number 7, badly beaten by Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. I'm afraid one day Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar will surpass the Philippines too.

Philippines - $592Billion 4. Thailand - $563Billion 5. Vietnam - $517Billion the Philippines will soon overtake Singapore which pretty much forever and becomes 2nd while Vietnam gets to be 3rd somewhere in 2035, the Philippines is already expected to reach 1trillion economy (GDP) before 2030.

You overlooked the main reason why foreign investors choose Vietnam over neighboring countries: it’s the quality of the workforce for the wages they pay. It’s not just about cheap labor; it’s about getting the same or better quality of work at a lower salary.
Cheap Vietnamese labor is not the main factor. The main factor attracting investment in Vietnam is vocationally trained and culturally qualified human resources. I work for a vocational college under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam. The Vietnamese government sponsors tuition fees from 50-100% for vocational students depending on the profession. For vocational students from 16 to under 18 years old, they will also be supported with living expenses of more than 100-150 USD per month. Most Vietnamese workers are hard-working, skillful, clean, comply with regulations, and are willing to work overtime if the company has many orders. They work hard to receive high salaries and Lunar New Year bonuses. They only take time off during the Lunar New Year and major holidays like Independence Day to reunite with their families and immediately return to work.

these type of videos are from western perspective. They don’t understand Vietnam and Philippines much. Vietnam and Philippines are not comparable at all. Vietnam is Confucius culture that’s heavily influenced by imperial China similar to that of Korea with a long history. The Philippines has none of that. @@DT-im1dp We're not naive. We know the best things for us. We have been fighting and outwitting China for thousands of year. So, China is always a lurking danger.
Given the current trajectory, the Philippines could potentially become one of the poorest countries in Asia if not the entire planet. Despite the resilience of its people, there are significant challenges in political leadership choices. It’s quite unusual to see a country elect a president whose father was accused of plundering the nation for decades. Additionally, the repeated election of movie stars, a boxer, and individuals with criminal records to the Senate and House of Representatives is really appalling. It's sad but true ..
I think the culture in Vietnam is better. People in Vietnam work harder and have better sense of getting good education. I can see the same situation of Vietnamese and Filippinos living in the US. The culture is making the big difference.

We the Filipinos have witnessed some of the major reasons for this... some of the major obstacles are 1) difficulty to manage the Ph due to language differences, logistics (split into thousands of islands), various cultures, 2) non-ending split between communist-extremists in the South, and democratic-Christians in the North, 3) corruption, extortion, bribery, 4) energy cost crisis, 5) slow development of the nation due to the heat, humidity, rain, storms all year round, 6) focus on politics instead of economics, 7) being soft and forgiving. Our newer leaders have evolved and realized these obstacles and the Filipinos are coming together slowly but surely under improved leadership to counter all these obstacles. Philippines is way more difficult to manage than a few square footage of Singapore. The leaders who come out on top becomes one of the strongest leaders in the world due to the difficulty of managing the Philippines... that is if they remained steadfast, unwavering, and true to the people. Philippines is proud and happy for all our ASEAN countries for growing their economy, the Filipinos really isn't here to race to finish first, we race to be happy while being at our best and enduring the adversities we face with great fortitude.. unlike the Chinese who race to come up on top and beat everyone.. because they have ulterior motives.

The most important point that makes the difference between Vietnam and the Philippines is human quality. This means better education and Vietnamese nationality
Vietnam has confucianism and the old Asian grit and honor. This is not popular with White people but will keep Vietnam stable. Philippines adopted Hispanic culture which is good with impressing White people but makes them chaotic
Geographic location. Food is cheap in Vietnam because it is a solid land mass with access to a major river system (Mekong) making food and water much more cheaper. Vietnam is also not a disaster prone country with average typhoon count per year of 4-6 while Philippines gets 20. While Volcanic eruptions is also much higher in Philippines where there was eruptions in June this year, also one in 2023, 2022, and 2020. Philippines is so disaster prone that Pandemic hit the philippines in 2020 while there is a volcanic eruption in the middle of a typhoon. In comparison, when was Vietnam suffered its last volcanic eruption? 1923?
It all starts with cheaper food. With more affordable food, Vietnamese people can afford lower labor cost. Lower labor cost attracts investors and manufacturers since it lowers their overall expense per year. It also don’t hurt that Vietnam don’t get hit with much natural calamities that might damage manufacturing facilities. Surely not education since Philippines is known to have highly skilled and educated workforce like in Business process outsourcing industry that requires higher education compared to mundane jobs like shoe making and cloth making of Vietnam. Philippines also export educated workforce especially nurses and seafarers worldwide, in fact, the royal family of United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia prefer Filipino nurses for their care.

The other big factor is like China, it's people are the X-factor. We have many Vietnamese working in Singapore. They are like the Chinese, super hardworking and resourceful. They just need the right leadership to start flying off. And looks like the time has come;they seem to have one now!
In the Philippines a lot of the riches of the country go to the politicians, their relatives, their sponsors, government officials and the oligarchs. Not enough left to develop infrastructures, drinkable and affordable water facilities, consistent and affordable electricity, higher standard of education, minimize corruption and red tape, etc.

No choice. Vietnam can produce roughly average 126sack of rice per hectare while Philippines can only produce 83 sack. It makes Vietnamese rice far cheaper than Ph rice production.. Why? Because Philippines in general has freshwater shortage especially in summer where there’s even drinkable water shortage without major river system. Vietnam has Mekong river (one of worlds biggest rivers) it is also a continuous landmass and not a country compose of thousands of tiny island making everything easier like transportation, agricultural infrastructure building, etc.

Both countries have their own issues, but from an outsider's perspective, I believe the biggest problem in the Philippines is leadership. They prioritise their personal interests over the national interest, acting for themselves and their families. Although they claim to be democratic, leadership is dominated by only a few families who continuously hold power. This overlapping system of interests greatly affects the decisions made for the country.

as Vietnamese we want both countries to thrive. No point in comparing two countries since we're all trying our best to achieve better. Phillipines has their own problems and so is Vietnam. We'll overcome them together ❤
Vietnam and Indonesia are the countries with the fastest growth over the next few decades. Because they have independent national politics and a tradition of hard work. In the Philippines, since they have not solved the political colonial problem of the United States, they cannot choose a system that suits them. This has led to an excessive gap between the rich and the poor and serious corruption.

As a Vietnamese, I really respect and admire the Philippines. Your country and your people are very resilient and indomitable, even though they often have to endure many natural disasters and unusual weather every year, you have not fallen. I am not talking about the economy here because your country has suffered a lot from the destruction of natural disasters and storms, so that also partly limits your economic development. If your country did not suffer from bad weather, you would develop even more. I hope that your country will not have to suffer much more damage caused by natural disasters so that people can still do business and live happily. Thank you for protecting us to some extent. We are all brothers.

Too much political corruption, centralized government power as well as over protectionism policies in terms of foreign investment. The wages barely increases while the competition for jobs becomes more cut throat. A lot of Filipino workers opt to work abroad for these reasons, mainly the wage differences. But they turn into sacrificial lambs for their families reaping the benefits back home. Crab mentality is also part of the culture. Pulling each other down for their own benefit not knowing that they themselves are also stuck in this pit.

Because your country is isolated in the ocean and divided into separate islands, creating (essential) food is difficult as well as traveling throughout the country. Not to mention the natural disasters suffered instead of Vietnam. Therefore, your country needs to develop tourism, especially human development (Japan has been too successful as an example, their country does not have preferential natural resources). But politics needs to stabilize first.
@KomiChannelXI’m from Vietnam and actually we always say that thanks to Philippines, we have been able to avoid many storms that could devastate our country. This is a true fact though and we always feel grateful to Philippines for protecting us from those storms ❤ Just hope that Vietnam, Philippines and other Asean countries will grow stronger and stronger together 😊
@KomiChannelXphilippines is the most disaster prone country in the world. Philippines have alot of development but natural disasters hampered alot of its economic potential. Philippines is like starting a civilization in hard mode. Freshwater shortage in summer, average 20 typhoons a year, numerous earthquakes and landslides, volcanic eruptions in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2020, etc. In comparison, when was the last time Vietnam suffered a major volcanic eruption? 1923? Philippines is compose of thousands of islands while Vietnam is a contiguous landmass connected to one of the biggest rivers in the world making irrigation substantially easier and making the land much more fertile for agriculture. Mekong river has one of the highest hydroelectric power potential in the world thereby giving Vietnam 23K+ megawatts of cheap energy source. Philippines only has 3K+ hydroelectric potential in comparison having very small and few rivers. That is why food and electricity is far cheaper in Vietnam… with cheaper food and electricity, people can afford to have lower labor wages. Low wages attracts foreign investors since it makes production expense much cheaper. Vietnam has much more favorable geographic location its even surprising it took them this long to surpass Philippines.
@KomiChannelXand if you’re talking about why Indonesia is richer, first, OIL. They afforded to develop earlier because they have oil… and geographic lottery gave them that. Secondly, they don’t get hit by natural disasters as much as Philippines despite them being a much bigger country with more widespread islands.
Vietnam is an emerging powerhouse and rapidly improving due to lower cost of manufacturing. However, there will come a time when it wont be sustainable and people will demand higher pay and higher real estate prices will follow. It is the same with the Phl in the 80s when a lot of factories were making American brands before they left in the 90s due to higher costs and political issues
It is true that FDI goes to countries that bring the highest profits and leaves when profits decrease. Like the Chaebol groups in Korea such as Huyndai, Samsung, LG... Vietnam is taking advantage of the opportunity of FDI investing in production in Vietnam to quietly develop its own corporations. These corporations are currently the largest in Southeast Asia in their fields (you can refer to Google). If FDI later withdraws, these corporations will replace FDI and continue to invest in Vietnam. That is the difference between Vietnam and neighboring countries in the Southeast Asian region. Vinfast (Vin Group) electric cars, VinAI, VinBigdata, Viettel Telecom, Vietjet, Hoa Phat Steel Corporation, FPT Software,... are all leading in Southeast Asia. Currently, Vietnam attracts a lot of FDI not only because of cheap labor costs. Because India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka have cheaper labor costs than Vietnam. Compared to countries with cheap labor, Vietnam has advantages with a young workforce with a passion for technology, many skilled workers, a good education system with a high literacy rate, many free trade agreements (FTAs), a transparent administrative procedure system and a stable political system.
Vietnam is also adopting technology and developing its own large corporations, which is completely different from the Philippines in the past. Currently, there are many well-developed technology corporations in Vietnam such as FPT, Viettel, VinGroup, VinFast, Vinamik, Moniphone, and Truong Hai. Regarding your concerns, Vietnam has made preparations and has requested the establishment of technology transfer centers and research and development centers, so you don't need to worry about that.
Vinfast don't really have any technology. Most of its stuff outsourced from somewhere else China and Germany. You say Vietnam request but that's on Vietnam side to request but who will transfer the technology? No one is gonna come along and give you technology for nothing. Vietnam only has itself to count on. How many overseas students return to Vietnam? South Korea did its own independent research and had some technology transfer from Germany and Japan through various methods. When I look at the streets in Vietnam on videos I really can't see a developed country in it. It's just too too chaotic.
@@02tonylAgain with this nonsense. Vinfast bought technology from Germany and later developee their own as well. Most of the parts of the automobile have been 80% domestic for now and that percent will continue to rise.

The Philippines will face harder times ahead if they don’t stop borrowing tons of money from China. This will be this region’s greatest downfall in the short future: mountains of debt and the consequences of not paying it back. China will own these countries without the need for wars. It’s their Art of War strategy.

You overlooked the main reason why foreign investors choose Vietnam over neighboring countries: it’s the quality of the workforce for the wages they pay. It’s not just about cheap labor; it’s about getting the same or better quality of work at a lower salary.
They even placed an R&D center in Vietnam (Samsung,...) that show how smart and well working in the high-tech field

Vietnam's per capita GDP in 1990 was only $ 90. In some way, GDP per capita of Vietnam in 1980 was equal to Thailand and Indonesia, the countries escaped the war several dozen years ago. Vietnam ended the war with the United States in 1975, devastated, continuing the war with China and Polpot 1979-1989. I don't think Vietnamese GDP per capita in 1980 = $ 650.

PARENTAL AND CHARACTER.

It is a good deal for Vietnam too so it's a win for both countries 😂

Vietnam and Indonesia are the countries with the fastest growth over the next few decades. Because they have independent national politics and a tradition of hard work. I am not talking about the economy here because your country has suffered a lot from the destruction of natural disasters and storms, so that also partly limits your economic development.

Vậy là bạn mới có sự hiểu biết 1/2 trong sự hiểu biết mất rồi.VN sẽ không chững lại đến khi jdp 13k dolar người / năm.
