- The first trailer for Black Adam came out a few days ago, and I think it looks pretty terrible. Just another generic Rock action movie. Here are my thoughts......... #blackadam #blackadamtrailer #trailerreaction #blackadammovie #doctorfate #dceu #reaction #therock
I actually liked the trailer, I just didn't like the ending of it. The jokes were unnecessary. However, I agree with the fact that The Rock should've had a wig on to draw more fans otherwise we're just seeing another fast and furious movie. Keep in mind, He wore a wig in a Hercules movie before so why not a Supervillain movie?
Yeah I think Hercules is the only movie on the past decade that he's actually looked different and had an accent.
Dwayne needs to take a break already feels like he wants to be in every damm movie shit is sickening 🤢
No hair is the biggest problem for me. First, Bloodshot with bald actor and now this with bald actor. Are they really that insecure to not want to wear fake wigs on their heads? No one will care if it’s fake, they know, and the fans will still enjoy them because they look accurate to the source material, at least.

This is the type of movie that goes straight to DVD and the hallmark channel.
It definitely does look like a vanity project.
It looks more like The Rock playing his character Hobbs, who finds a super soldier suit and acts like he’s the new Superman.

I couldn’t agree more with what you are saying, like why does Black Adam need a solo movie? It has already been confirmed that Black Adam will fight Shazam in Shazam 3 so why couldn’t they just wait until then. I get that they wanted to introduce the justice society but just make a justice society movie not a Black Adam movie. Also they should’ve made him look like the Black Adam in the comics with the ears and the hair that would’ve been so much better than what we got. It basically just looks like the rock in a black suit.

Even though I'm cautiously optimistic, I do agree with your arguments. Every video I've seen about Black Adam shares the same concerns when it comes to the Rock's involvement, even John Cena, terrible basic geography aside, shows more acting range than him...the other complaint I've seen was about Cyclone being another redhead character thrown under the bus

@ProGrammEGR honestly don’t think there’s a single Rock performance, or even movie he’s in that I’ve enjoyed. He has absolutely no range, and I think ultimately he’s just not a great actor. Not sure what the appeal is. Definitely has an impressive physique...and that’s all I got 🤷🏻♂️
I don’t think it’ll be bad but I also don’t think it’ll be that good either. It’s one of those movies that falls in the middle. Honestly I never really cared about this movie. I sorta thought Black Adam was gonna be introduced in Shazam or in a Justice League vs Legion of Doom movie. The Rock just wants to be a major player in a cinematic universe weathers if it’s Fast and Furious, DC, or even a generic Disney comedy. Honestly I get more character out of John Cena’s Peacemaker than Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. At John Cena doesn’t act like John Cena most of the time in Peacemaker. Probably the only hype the movie has going for it Henry Cavill’s Superman cameo, which he’ll only be there for like two seconds. I know people will say just be happy we’re getting something if that means more movies like Black Adam, Wonder Woman 84, Aquaman, or Birds of Prey, or more of Snyder’s style over substance BS than I’d rather there’d be no DC movies.
Caville sucks as Superman too tho. He should have been an evil Superman from start to end.

Not to be a downer but, my opinion: I’m starting to believe that as long as there is good acting (via what the director pulls from the actors) the story could suck and the movie would still be good. I feel like the actors are peacocking. The rock doesn’t have sadness behind his rage so it doesn’t feel real, feels like acting. 🤷🏼♂️

even without knowing the comic character beforehand i just know the movie bad base on the interaction of plot armor -the son and the mother ...it just so bad none of them have somekind of chermistry with eachother , every thing feel force and just leave bad taste of capitalism , and when the joke being tell , no one at the cinema laugh and i'm in asia

Look, I'm gonna see this movie no matter what--I really like the character and some of the stuff I've read about the story direction. But this trailer? It's BAD.
It's like if you forced an AI to watch a bunch of superhero stuff and then cut a trailer. The ship in the beginning? That looks straight outta Black Panther. The invulnerability and catching a rocket thing? That's straight outta Superman and Justice League (Steppenwolf catches a rocket in that). Dr. Fate's magic looks like he's going to Dr. Strange's mirror dimension. The Intergang guys on the flying bike thingies look like the Chitauri from The Avengers. The bit with the jets, while ending differently, looks like it was pulled right out of Iron Man.
I really don't like the music choice for this. It doesn't fit. It gives off "pretending to be epic" vibes. It also makes the tone wonky. It seems super serious, the music kicks in, and then there's a goofy joke. What is the tone they're going for? Shazam had a trailer with hip hop, too, and I never felt any tonal dissonance in the ads. What happened here?
I'm also not sure what the point of the fleeting glimpses of the JSA are supposed to accomplish. General audiences don't know them yet, because they've not been introduced to them. What is a context-less shot of Atom Smasher running or Cyclone flying supposed to communicate to an audience that doesn't know who they are? If you're not going to establish them somewhat in the trailer, don't bother showing them and muddying the messaging of the trailer.
Lastly, if this is the only footage you have to work with, it still could've been edited together better. Why end on that "he caught a rocket" joke? People have seen superpowers in this universe before, guys. It's like "They fly now?" "They fly now!" from the last Star Wars movie. Instead, end on the bit with the jets to leave that image of Black Adam killing people out of convenience as the last image in our heads.
Again, I decided long ago to watch this anyway. I'm not trying to shit on anyone's hard work. I'm just hoping they get helpful feedback from this trailer so subsequent tv spots and trailers are better.

People talked shit and made whole videos about how Aquaman was trying to be a Marvel film and now how DC copied one 20 second shot from Ironman. It's like, literally, Marvel has been copying DC since it's inception when it was like Timely Comics. All of their superhero's archetypes are carbon copies of DCs heros. Iron man is Batman's archetype, Thor is Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel is Supergirl, X Men is Doom Patrol, Dr Strange is Dr Fate, Thanos is Darkseid, Quicksilver is Flash, Namor is Aquaman, Hawkeye is Green Arrow, even Infinity War is DCs Crisis on Infinite Earth's, DC also did the multiverse first. The entire MCU is a copy of a DC movie. Also even now Disney's Ms. Marvel show she's essentially become Green Lantern. It's sad that people are going to think Dr. Fate is a Dr. Strange ripoff in the Black Adam movie because Fate came first in the comics. I agree DC started off bad and have had a slow crawl towards correcting that mistake but... Half or more of every franchise sucks except Feige movies. Half of Star Wars suck, More than half of Fast and Furious sucks, Most of the Transformers franchise sucks, Terminator, Harry Potter is having a rough time now, The Godfather 3 isn't even very good. Like DC is on par or better than every other franchise in Hollywood history. They even corrected some early mistakes like Suicide Squad and Justice League. Obviously though Feige is the greatest movie producer in Hollywood history so u have to give it up for him but literally no other franchise ever should be compared to what Feige has been doing.

I'm not with the fan base worshipping. Its just woke, force feeding messages, stupid humor. Idk it's a messed confusing script.
His wrestling days in the WWF we're great, earlier films like Walking Tall or the rundown we're funny I thought but took a nose dive afterwards.
Ever since 2010, his re-emergence into blockbuster films he'll always played himself.

In order to compensate for his terrible acting
