- Hi friends! Welcome back to the channel! In this video, we are sewing along to McCall's 7969! This is my second time making this dress and I still love it! I'm a big fan of pull on garments from dresses, skirts, pants and this dress is really comfy! I like to pair it with sneakers and a denim jacket!
I have the fabric link below if anyone is interested. It is 92% Viscose 8% Linen. I really love this fabric. I find it easy to sew with. It presses great and has awesome drape!

I have watched several videos for this pattern, made it and searched again for videos to try to clear up my confusion. I came across your video and you explained everything thoroughly and showed the process beautifully. I now feel confidant to tackle this project again and make something that I can actually wear in public!
Thanks for this sew along. I've had this dress on my list to make for 2 years now 😳I packed up and moved homes so that's my excuse! It was good for me to see this one comes together nicely. I am itching to sew now!
Hi Brittany, have you thought of doing another mini capsule video? If not doing the video, maybe you could make a great selection on a pattern that could help someone create a mini capsule wardrobe. Something with maybe a jacket, pants, tops and a dress and even a skirt as well. You could also link to your fabric store the fabrics that would work with the wardrobe. Just asking 😊🤷🏽♀️. Oh and by the way I’m loving these sew alongs.

I will follow you I’m 4’11 so I’m make a sample to see if I need to shorten, had a time with the gathering and binding
How did you choose your size Brittany? Did you go by the full bust or the upper bust?
I love that fabric. I think that was the mistake I made, the fabric I used had way to much body and wasn’t nearly soft and floaty enough which that dress needs. Thanks!

Can the pressure foot that you commonly use on your sewing machine be purchased separately? If yes, where?
I really like this dress but it’s a little low cut for me. How could you make it so the crossover is higher? Is that possible? BTW I really like your sew along.
I suppose you could raise the two cross over bodice front pieces a couple of inches at the centre front and redraw the lines from the shoulders down to end on both pieces. This might affect the bodice facing. I'm not sure if it is shaped or just a strip but you could replace it with bias binding. It is too low cut for me too personally.
I put a triangle modesty patch in the bodice turned out just fine
Wondering if you sized up or down, also I made this dress with cotton, which was a mistake. Do you think rayon or polyester is a suitable fabric?!?! 😊
