PBI is crashing Tableau. 1. PBI is cheaper. 2. PBI can be integrated with MS stack(Azure, Powerapp & Power Automate, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, etc). 3: Dax is easier to use. 4: visuals can be automatically sliced and diced, more user-friendly, custom visuals are powerful to use. 5: PBI you can modify relationships, and generate paginated reports.

I hate how Tableau is always creating new updates causes interruptions on workbooks created in previous versions. Whereas Power BI has improved a lot in the last 5 years I'd say, and something I really like is how it can integrate with Python. A lot of users would say Power BI is user friendly but that's not necessarily true. Power BI can be just as complicated if not, more complicated than Tableau. Also, I don't like how Tableau Prep and Tableau are two separate software applications. Whereas with Power BI you have essentially both tools integrated into one, with the Power Query Editor. However, when it comes to analyzing large data sets, I would opt for Tableau just because it has a better processing Power than Power BI. I like the two, and I used to have a preference for Tableau, but I'm honestly impressed by Power BI these days. Though Power BI is cheaper to license, I do find it annoying how they don't offer an enterprise licensing model like Tableau, which might make some organizations resistant towards adopting Power BI. I would absolutely love to hear you and Ahmad Chamy discuss this topic as your both very passionate about both softwares in their own respect!

Thanks @davida6146! I agree with a lot of your points. In my perfect world, these two would be in the same product :). There are aspects about separating out the ETL/cleaning that I like, but would like to see some of the functionalities within Tableau Desktop. I like Tableau's flexibility in terms of creating the charts and dashboards - the experience is just very different with Power BI. I agree though - there are a lot of improvements over the years.
