coming straight from the blender conference video. LOVED your portfolio there. can't wait to see where you take the channel from here. this video was an EXCELLENT start! very very insightful!
@@RolaTH-cam I think you misunderstood what I wrote, I was waiting for a tutorial of how Jess made the textures so realistic, I don't see anything wrong with what I wrote ✌
I saw your 2024 blender conference and for what you have accomplished at your age is staggering. I have been successful in the industry for 10 years and I'm much older than you and was humbled. Keep it up, you're amazing.
It's always fascinating to see under the hood of someone's texturing process, I actually went and hunted down your BCON talk as well as a result. Super super impressive stuff, especially by 23 years old! Fun fact: "fac" is short for factor. So not an acronym or anything, just means Blender expects a scalar/float/single value as opposed to a colour or vector input. That is a lot of BSDF's for Blender to plough through, though, in just one material :S
Im simply baffled by your ability to combine creativity and technical knowledge. I PRAY we get a JessW course at some point. You're absolutely goated for sharing this - and what a wonderful speech at BCON. I wish u the best, cheers.
Hi Jess, thanks so much for the tutorial. Would be great to have a little explainer as you use each node as sometimes it isn't always clear why. You are amazing btw!
Thanks for sharing Jess! And it was awesome to meet u in Amsterdam! Just stopped your video to say... For those wondering where's the musgrave node in 4.2 or above. It's not there anymore 😢 But you got pretty much the same result using Noise texture and changing it to "Hetero Terrain" ;) Also i believe if you do a smart uv unwrap before the texture paint u dont get those paint issues. Now let's keep on learning from your style.
You can make these videos as long as you want, as long as there's valuable information in every minute - and here there definitely was! It's fantastic to see your thought process and the iterative steps you take when creating the assets. The entire time I was just wondering: Building a scene with this much attention to detail must take AGES! Pores, specks, scratches and bumps in every object with tons of assets on screen. Crazy effort, congrats!
I hope you see this and know that you are an inspiration. I look up to you, and if I become half as good as you, it would mean the world to me. If you, by any chance, have or are willing to work on a mentorship program or paid tutorials, I would be the first to sign up. Sending you plenty of love from Lebanon ❣
Seen you on Instagram a few weeks ago, and you changed my perspective on what I can in Blender. Want to say to you huge thank you. You motivate me to create and be creative! Hope your channel will grow quick and you will get good feedback
So glad you are finally here Jess! I subscribed a long while back but I only turned on notifications for your channel just minutes ago and then boom I got a notification that you put a video up😂
Yep, texturing is a tough process, this is my weakness in 3D due to lack of knowledge. I will watch this video and implement the knowledge in the video. And thx for sharing
Amazing video and process, it will for sure be an added value for my Industrial design workflow ! I love to finally see tuto from someone who I've been following the work for so long !
Absolutely awesome work. Been following you for some time now and was super exited to see you created a video! Also, I’m going to have to get one of your awesome clothing pieces or figures asap they are FIRE.
Finally she makes the youtube train awesome welcome to the family great video looking forward to seeing more from you just remember TH-cam is a marathon it's not a Sprint I can't wait to see your next video #keeprendering
thank you very much for the tutorial, I am very inspired by your creativity and brand, you are very cool, I wached the whole tutorial, I did not think that the blender has the functionality of creating textures like in after effects, but everything is very different. In the process of creation, I wanted to eat.....
I'm sure you will be reading the comment section again, so... Could you please provide more info on how you approached your figuregot sweater. You mentioned that it was created on a laptop, not some beast machine, how do you manage to make the crochet stitches on a sweater so bumpy though? Every time I try to replicate something like this I bump into a standstill with a model being too highpoly for me to apply the subdiv modifier for better displacement, but at the same time it seems to be not highpoly enough for crochet stitches to be so smooth and bumpy... love your stuff, btw
looks like I've suddenly got 57 minutes free on Monday morning. I'm sure this will be a nice addition to what you spoke about at BCON!
legend learning from legend 🔥 🔥
