HI Ed, Please don't take this as any criticism of the excellent video but I Just wanted to mention that i had some difficulty in getting my WC-1 to connect to my brand new Jupiter X. These are mostly school boy errors, but I did manage to get it connected eventually. Just thought i would let others know what i did to fix the issues as it may help some new people such as myself. 1st issue) To resolve the connection issue, after hunting around on the Roland site i discovered that the Jupiter X firmware needed to be at the latest firmware version (3.01) although i believe that the WC-1 is supported after ver2.0. 2nd Issue) The instructions to update the firmware states it is done via USB drive which must be formatted on the Jupiter X, i used a 4gb usb drive as it seems larger than 16GB are not supported? i had an issue formatting the 4Gb USB drive on the Jupiter X, This was resolved by placing the USB in the Jupiter X then powering on the Jupiter X and then performing the format of the USB this then completed correctly. after updating the Jupiter X to version 3.01 the WC-1 connected to the app correctly as per your video 3rd very minor Issue) i could only use the 2.4ghz network on my wireless router not the 5G so i assume the WC-1 will not support the 5G network. All worked out in the end and i absolutely love my Jupiter X.
Your comment actually solved my main issue. I needed to update my Juno-X to the latest firmware and after doing so, the WC-1 worked so thanks for leaving this comment! I'm still waiting for Roland Support to contact me about why my Roland Cloud membership shows as subscribed in the mobile app, but not on the actual desktop app or in my Roland Cloud account on the web browser. Did you run into this issue as well?
Is there a way to move user patches back and forth to the computer with this? So something like design a sound on the synth and open it up in zenology in a DAW, and vice versa, to finish songs. This would be unnecessary if it could be done along the same USB cable when plugged into the PC (or is that already possible?) But as far as I understand the only way to transfer sounds now is through a USB flash drive correct? Even if the synth (Fantom) is connected through USB to the computer
Do I have to "buy" a hardware lifetime key for a model expansion in order to be able to install and use that model in my hardware (Jupiter-X, Xm, Juno-X or Fantom), or can I use my Roland Cloud Pro Membership either with or without a WC-1 dongle to "rent" a model and install and use it in the same manner in my hardware? There seems no clarity on this at all, and I am under the impression that this "rental" idea doesn't work this way, and models will refuse to install into hardware unless purchased outright with a lifetime key. In a recent review of the Juno-X on YouTUBE, Loopop states that he was able to rent and install model expansions successfully as part of his Roland Cloud Membership and/or with his WC-1, but I did not have the same experience with my Jupiter-Xm, either with or without my WC-1. Can someone PLEASE give a definitive answer to this???
Hi, I've just bought a WC1. I don't know how to use start de one year Roland Cloud Pro membership that is supposed to be part of the W1. Someone can help please ? Thanks !
Just a question! How do I sell my sounds to the cloud. And what price should I take for people who don't want to explore there well paid synthesizer? To me it seem to be a trend of buy stuff to buy more stuff. If you buying a synthesizer explore what it can. And not because I own one! Ohh. And by the way what information do the app collecting?
So can do all of the same Roland Cloud sound transfers mentioned in this video, by plugging in a cable to your PC, IOS, Android? In other words, is there any advantage to the WC-1 over cables?
@@ChrisP3000x ok…so what other keyboards is the WC1 compatible with, other than the Jupiter X series? BTW…I did watch the entire video and also bought the WC1…I have both the Fantom and Fantom O7…not compatible with either of Roland’s flagship keyboards! Thanks!

Great video. I see that this juno x is just about black where on some video's it's grey. Is there two colour variations? The black looks so much nicer. 😀
You need to explain how to get the free 1 year pro membership, where the hell does the activation key go in setting up?....I just got this and will NOT CONNECT to my Jupiter X....Holding the button does nothing!!

I'm pretty confused about this process and why it's not setting up.]
Roland doesn't make it easy to find info on their website. They keep saying to go to the wc-1 product page to see a list of compatible synths. HELLO, there is no wc-1 product page, only the Roland Cloud Connect, and it doesn't have squat about compatible synths. The ONLY place to find that is on the Apps Store page for the App. And it's only compatible for 2 Jupiter models and the Juno. Took about half an hour just to find that out.
Hey Ed, if I press the button on my WC-1 ADAPTER and no light turns on does that mean the adapter is faulty? I just ordered it ( I thought I could use it with my Fantom 06 which I now know isn’t compatible yet), but I want to know if I need to return the item to get a replacement for when Fantom compatibility happens. Hope you can give me an idea. Thanks.
You prob have the answer by now but it’s not faulty just need to plug it into the device to power up. This isn’t clear in the manual along with a lot of areas to do with the Juno X!
I find it frustrating that Amazon sells this with one year of Roland cloud, and it’s not even compatible with the FANTOM. Seems like a waste of several months worth of cloud service that you can’t utilized. Roland should think twice before releasing something that doesn’t even work on their flag ship product.
The flaw here is not everything has a sample song, so you have to load them on your keyboard to know what the sound actually is. As an example, the "SDZ131 Kinetic Waveforms" sound pack in the app does not have a sample song, but has 34 tones you have to individually load to hear each one. Very poor execution.
Another Roland useless concept. To work with it one should purchase the WC1 and a phone/a tablet....WHY???? Roland cloud should work like that on a PC/Mac! From experience, these "USB sticks" have a short life under heavy usage: so in a period of time one should buy another WC1. This idea works exactly like the Jupiter X editor/librarian that is free but nobody uses it namely because everybody needs a VST in order to link it to a DAW. I am so disappointed.
Ed's presentation here is what pushed me to purchase the WC1 for my Juno-X. Thanks for this, Ed.
I literally just got my Fantom-08... Please make it available for the FANTOMs
