Thrifty Stitch Haul #1 my Flosstube mini series

I’ve decided to start uploading some mini ‘flosstubes’ and call them my ‘thrifty stitch hauls’ as I do so much thrifting and find so many lovely things related to cross stitch. I hope you enjoy and are inspired to go thrifting and buy second hand. 🖤
Those of you who watch my videos will notice a few items in this haul that I’ve actually used/started. I filmed this 10 weeks ago but couldn’t decide wether to post it onto here or not. I decided to go for it and I hope you all enjoy! 🖤

I always buy second hand frames from local charity shops, save a small fortune and help the shops. It never crossed my mind to buy new frames. Upcycle and reused. Love it.

I love this. I love finding treasures, and have a hoard of frames and embroidery hoops I have found at the thrift stores and yard sales. I started out cross stitching using all items I bought secondhand. I love your outlook on thrifting and secondhand, and I think these videos are a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

I love finding treasure in the local charity shops - I’m always buying second hand frames and I also always get rid of the glass!! like you say - they have so much more character than new ones!! One local charity shop also has DMC and Anchor threads - and I usually do a raid on there once a fortnight!!

Thanks for this. I love searching charity shops and I have a box of old frames for finishing. I rarely see patterns and supplies, I did pick up some fabric once. I always look in hope though.

There is a way to get the musty smell out of paper. Google it and there are many ways listed. I’ve done it and it does work. Good luck.
