Lindsey, don't worry about mispronounced words, we all do and it's entertaining because we are all guilty of. There is a Google pronunciation that I use. I'm going on 70 and am a voracious reader. If I find a word I don't know, I look it up. We just adore you❤ I love all your thrifts finds! I've found great pricing on yards of Aida (old stock.) And I've started dying my own colors and love the surprising results. Enjoy motherhood, it goes so fast! And please share any creative pursuits you've tried. The embroidery is fantastic❤

What a find by your mother! It’s interesting to see more of the everyday parts of normal life preserved as they weren’t treated and handled with extra care because they were just so normal.

In Russian Hermione is pronounced almost like you did. So maybe you don't pronounce thing wrong, maybe you just speak a lot of languages! Anyway, so glad I found your channel. For some reasons English flosstubers are a perfect mix of Western and Eastern cross stitch styles for me. Keep going!

I stitched some of these little houses and cottages way back in the 1990's. They've been lost in the mists of time so it was fun to see them again. Another Poldark fan here, I'm on my 3rd go around with the series and just never tire of it. You asked what the 'd' meant on your vintage pattern book. Its the old fashioned sign for penny. So that 2d means two pence, in old money. ( it changed to decimal in 1971).

So happy to see you post another video, i still owe you a reply on insta (sorry 🫣) but had to comment here. I feel the struggles to find time to stitch, film, edit, post...its a lot. I meant to film this weekend too but was just braindead and couldn't. Thats ok. Anyway its so hilarious that you pronounced Hermione, just with the letters pronounced in the order they come up. Makes total sense to me. I pronounced it (in my head) the same way until i watched the movies and was like "what"? The most funny thing though is, as you continued talking about you cockerel pattern. My mind was blown as i virtually just read a book about poor cock-e-rel who forgot how to crow to my son and had that lightbulb moment of...oh, thats apparently not the way to pronounce it 😂 you would like german 😊 we pronounce things exactly as they are written 👍

Loved your video. Seeing those vintage kits took me back to a time many, many years ago when I visited the Harrogate show and one of the stands had all of the Derwentwater Designs model stitched and hanging up. They seemed way above my limited capabilities at that time being petite point and stitched over one. I do have a few in my stash and am inspired to get started on one of them. Poldark is one of my favorite shows of all time, I’ve been feeling a rewatch coming on. I’ve thought about reading the books as well but haven’t yet!

i really loved seeing the long stitch kits..i had quite long pause from cross stitch and was doing different things and i think i wold enjoy bit of stitching with wool..off to ebay i go to have a look

Thanks for this. I love searching charity shops and I have a box of old frames for finishing. I rarely see patterns and supplies, I did pick up some fabric once. I always look in hope though.

I always buy second hand frames from local charity shops, save a small fortune and help the shops. It never crossed my mind to buy new frames. Upcycle and reused. Love it.
