Hi Dave, glad to see you back with a new video then. Hope everyone had a great Christmas? For myself I had told you about fitting a new turbo charger to my Astra estate, yes got the car going then. Until Christmas Eve and had just left my house and I heard a small bang, turned around back home and looked under the bonnet and found out the new fan belt was not there and the pulley had disappeared from the alternator. So did not have a good Christmas myself then, put a new alternator on, on Friday afternoon went to contact the battery up and found out the battery had a fault in it. So as you can tell my luck has not been very good. Roll on 2025 now, wishing you and your family a Happy New Year when it arrives Dave.

I worked at a Vauxhall dealer in Bolton for 18 Months as a photographer, I only remember seeing 2 of these come through on the 2nd hand market, both sold on the day they came in. that induction kit is worth a few ££'s too. cant wait to see the next video :)

I love my 2013 gtc vxr, i daily drive mine, mine done 123k great engine if looked after, i service mine every 6k, just a little tip when you service it, there is a cross bar, where the oil drain plug is, best to remove it other wise oil goes everywhere ask me how i know haha, check the front discs as theses are not cheap to replace, mtc Discs are 500+ with out pads, best of luck, loads of red panels on ebay at the moment kieren

@@DaveRebuilds I think I remember right is 320bhp is stage 1 safe, stage 2 is with intercooler and full exhaust system 340bhp, I've got induction kit and intercooler to fit to mine, I've just missed out on full exhaust system, sports cat, as the original is a massive what I have read reduces power out put, I'm not a tuner , I'm only a hgv mechanic, look forward to seeing more videos as there not many of theses on the roads,

yeah sure when I called dealer if they can get one sure it was about 3k, if you get one make sure towing eye cover there. again hens teeth cross e ver front bumper the same ,,if I hear of one ill give you a shout

My boys love it when I get the cleaning stuff out mate they love the snowfoam so we cot some coloured snowfoam from duel auto care as well as some nitty gritty which is a great pre wash

these are brilliant cars. I'm not into modern cars as I have a 1979 MGB GT and im 21 years old. BUT my fathers Astra GTC VXR running 350BHP and 520NM with a stock turbo with hybrid core is widly fast. Managed to beat a BMW M4 in the wet. The drexler diff and suspension setup is wicked and the weight of the car helps to reduce skipping when launching. His one has the optional full leather and electric seats with blue stitching and pin stripe

@@DaveRebuilds easier than the vauxhall which is scary. Many companies specialise and still manufacture identical panels using original moulds and blue prints. However the car is now for sale and im getting a fully restored 1956 Morris Minor Splitscreen window. one thing to note about my dads VXR is that its fully forged so it is a good peace of mind that it wont go wrong. I advice service the car every 4k miles not 6k as the guy suggested above. The oil gets very black if driven hard every day

There are so many things you can retrofit to them, but most need to be programmed. Dash comes out quite easy, most parts are generic astra J, even the airbag

You should be able to push the Vauxhall logo on the boot, on the lower part of it to release the lock, but if the battery is almost dead it won't work. Merry Xmas and happy NYE from Romania !

@@steveng5503 😂, I didn’t even have to force them! Not quite as simple when I try to get them to come with me walking the dog tho 😂. Yeah the radiator is smooshed (technical term) up against the engine, so really want to get it out and straightened before I try starting it anymore 👍🏻
I did off camera yeah, but thanks for asking 👍🏻 I always check the fluids first thing when the cars arrive as my pal blew a car up a few years ago as he didn’t check the coolant and then let it “warm up” 😳😂

Front bumpers are a nightmare to source for those VXR's, I used to work in a bodyshop and we had one in for a new bumper, it took me over a month to find a new one, and that was well over £2k, you'll also have issues finding the bumper trim parts as they are no longer supplied by vauxhall.

@DaveRebuilds unfortunately you will be disappointed as these are not a patch on a mk2 rs iv had a good few mk2 rs and tried a vxr as took one in a px and it was the worst hot hatch I ever owned under powerd and horrible handling

@DaveRebuilds driving is a experience in its own right, in the vxr, 280 bhp, as you got a induction kit it might be stage 1

@@DaveRebuilds use Mannol oil. Its the best in the game. Shell is overpriced and Castrol isnt as good quality either

new bonnet has to come with new hinges to awoid any issues they usually bent anyway
