great humour lewis jeez thank god ive now got a older reliable A3 worth extra money ive had my issues with vauxhall vechiles with 2.0tdi &1.2 pure tech engines never again pal.
I think the GTC is one off the most attractive hatchbacks off any manufacturer even the golf or A3 the vxr version really nice your car seems unbelievably cheap I'm sure it's worth more than you paid scrap or damaged good luck mate,
On the 6 speed its the gearbox end bearing thats common. Oil leak looks like rocker cover gasket common on the vauxhall engines. I believe the rocker cover also has the breather built into rocker cover.
@@peterg3661 yeah same as the 2.0 diesel I think I've got lucky with this one. On this one it goes into the inlet manifold but yes we're still not 100% it must've been leaking a while so we will wait and see

Make sure your battery is holding charge, i noticed it says from the topdon it is at 11Volts which it should be at 13/14 volts, these when the battery gets low give out all strange signals to the sensors which then throw an eml light.
I'm not a fan of Vauxhalls but that is a nice looking motor which you should do well out of. Would have loved that as a first car. I was surprised at the rust spot for that age though.
@@MrFrog_ yeah drives surprisingly well too hence the MOT result. Just received almost full service book today too. Yeah it is 12 years old though I guess
@@leanne-morgan7226 I remember they used to have some great finance offers. I just find a 3 door so impractical, massive doors, very hard in tight car parks 🤣
That one is the basic model (Sport), standard alloys and seats. The SRi is nicer. There is also a Limited Edition VXR lookalike with leather seats and diamond cut alloys and of course there is the proper VXR.
I've had nowt but trouble with mine with water leaks practically every pipe and housing are plastic. Turbo's are known to fail, gaskets blow and timing chains stretch (and the tensioners break). Doors fill with water due to the drain at the rear of the doors being a lot higher than the front. The engine also needs special oil (Dexos 1 / Gen 2) which is difficult to find and Vauxhall won't sell you any unless you let Vauxhall service it. Back street garages will just stick any old oil in it.
@@normanstephens5391 that's one of the reasons I thought it could be this purge valve, apparently it's common for them to idle higher with this fault. It very intermittently flagged up an ABS light after the video which made me think more it could be this as it's part of the vacuum system
When yoh plugged in the scanner and said "it's a manual" 😂😂😂😂 that is not asking what gearbox it has. That's asking if you want the scanner to "automatically" determine the vehicle or if you want to "manually" select the make and model 😂😂😂😂😂😂
