Falconry has been a sport for over 2,000 years, and still puts food on my table. definition of falconry... noun 1. the SPORT of hunting with falcons or other birds of prey; the keeping and training of such birds.
666ffdp48 you don't just "get one" you need to study for the test, pass the test, get your license, get a sponsor, build your mew, get the equipment, get a bird, and train it.
Nice video, takes me back to the first redtail I had. That bird was phenomenal, far more capable than the average redtail, used to do all sorts of hunting techniques. Unfortunately it disappeared one day, flew behind a woodland and I never saw it agin, may have killed something and I wasn't able to locate it.
Not even a Metallica fan but the music behind this was perfect. I love the look that he/she gave you at the very end before devouring it's reward. Fantastic video! thank you so much for sharing
Great video. I have a few that hang around here. Also had a nest this past spring in a huge Oak near my house. It is amazing to watch them especially when crows show up and try to raid their nest. The red tails are a fierce opponent.
good video, am struggling to see prey in film, was it squirrel? it must be good when you get camera off rt and then pore over the footage, do you slow it down when prey appears... all the best...
awesome vid brother. im not a falconer, but we have red tails here. they have been one of my favorites since childhood. talk about an apex predator. thanks again!
Hey brother, I'm falconer too. I'm gonna go fly my RT right now and grab something too hopefully. It's her second flight, she missed a bunny yesterday. Anyway I wanna commend you on your footage, especially the hawk cam. If only I could fly along side my bird...
that is just amazing! do u need a special license for housing a hawk like this?! how did u train it to come back to u? i saw the mice u had in ur hand...
no Squirrel Chaps, she has managed 12 Squirrels this season with out incident. I do plan on releasing this bird so i don't want her to get used to something she will not have back in the wild. Thanks for watching check out my channel if you like what you see icwildlife
did it ever occur to you that releasing her back into the wild with no fear of humans and she tries to land on some ones' arm or hand? We had a juvenile bald eagle who raised havoc on this beach because she /he/it had no fear of humans. luckily they were able to remove the eagle without harming it.
you have to understand this is not a pet but a wild animal that allows me to work with her in her natural environment. I trapped her out of the wild last Oct. If you are interested look up Falconry in your state to get more information. I have a new one this year so look for my upcoming videos.
find a falconer in your area. Ask if you can go with them for a season and learn the ropes. When you have learn't enough and had a lot of experience, ask them how you could do it yourself. I am currently awaiting for the new season to start for when I take either a harris hawk or a saker or maybe even a perigrine falcon, but be warned, you will have to run like fuck otherwise it'll rip your prey to shreds.

loved it.
Alexander Bronsky, yes you do need a Falconry Lic. What state do you live in?
nice vids mate... Do you use Squirrels chaps or do you never bother?.
What camera are you using on your bird? I’m guessing the mount is a transmitter back pack.

Hey Robert, Great Video! this is amazing, I live in PA and I am looking for apprentice. Can you help?
Can you pet the hawk? You two pals?
what'd you feed him at the end??
whats the head gear for on the bird?
lol...looks silly.
what did you use to shoot the video from your red tail?
have you ever lost your eagle or release it to the wild?
Is that an "assault hawk" or a "sporting hawk"?
This is something I want to get into so bad, but I have no idea how to.

dude this is so fucking cool!!!!!!
The slow mo was a bit unnecessary, but the hawk makes up for it.

I'm still working on catching my wild pigeon for bait course you can't catch a hawk without bait
leemilkakuh In the UK it is illegal to both use live bait and to catch a wild bird, you can obviously buy captive bred birds surely?
Holy wow eh, it's got a helmet.
Look up Ohio Falconry.
It's a Rat. about 120 grams
