Absolutely MAGNIFICENT~! Baby has to do more the rest of his life~! Beautiful creation~ I love and admire all the people that care and do these type filming and sharing~THANK YOU
I just want to thank you for taking the time and going through all the effort and hard work to bring this to us. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen the whole time. VERY impressive video!!! The mother is gorgeous, and it was amazing to see the chick turn from a little downy dumpling into a bird of prey so quickly.. Thanks again, most of us would never get the chance to see this in our lifetimes.
We are watching a nest high up in an oak tree on our small farm in Williston, FL. We are having to watch from the ground. The chicks hatched 1 or 2 weeks ago, and are being fed by their mom and dad now. Can't wait until they get big enough to see (the babies). Thanks for the video - it helps us understand the timing and what to expect on a weekly basis. This is a fascinating experience.
They will nest there every year forever, and when they are dead and gone, it will be taken over by another pair.....cool....I used to live in Gainesville, Florida.. actually out in Windsor, Newnans Lake, and saw nesting bald eagles and ospreys there each year...
I have been watching a hawk pair outside my suburban apt. I've never been a burd watcher, but this has been so fascinating. They are so big and majestic. Thanks for your video. I hope i get to see some fleglings fly.
The Presidio in San Francisco had a cam on the Red Tailed Hawk nest there last year, it was fun to watch the two baby hawks grow up. This year a pair of Great Horned Owls stole the nest from the hawks.
You got it Butch! Thanks for taking the time. Also, if you liked this, you might also enjoy a series called Wilderness Owl Adventure. If you search that title it will come up. I think it's a 3-4 part series. Cheers!
That was a great video, can't wait till you have more. I had a mother hawk bring her two babies in the back yard...plenty of trees too, but they were alway on the ground. Mom sat on a railing of neighbor's deck and kept an eye on the baby hawks, although they could fly. It was amazing just to sit and watch for days, then they were gone. Mom is still around. Thank you for your video, loved it.
Your channel is so rich with great great rare imagery of the most beautiful flying creatures in their most natural habitat. Thanks for sharing this. I was so hooked watching your vdos from present the past and I completely wow by the images you show.
@CrazyTaileZ Yeah, I only hope to be so fortunate next breeding season. It was a real treat to be part of this and I'm glad that I got to share the experience with others. Thanks for the support man!
Really glad you enjoyed it! I'm an aviation fan and grew up with my dad flying 172 -182s. These days I take the occasional R22 instruction flight when I can afford it. These birds certainly are the true masters of flights though with individual feather control. You've probably seen the Peregrine Falcon 'Frightful' break 242mph! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful video, thanks so much for making that and sharing it. I love at week 4 when he got his colorful feathers in and then again late week 5 when he stood up tall and strong like he was ready to face the world. It's incredible that you got all of that on video! I've been chasing hawks for so many years and have only gotten that close on a mom a few times and have never seen a baby before. So I'm glad I could see one grow up. Great job! :)
I'm in Indianapolis, IN and it just so happens that we have two redtail hawks living in one of our trees in the backyard. We noticed them when one of them dove for our little dog as a possible snack...heh. Now we watch these birds in awe. My friend managed to capture several amazing photos of our feathered friends. To be very honest, I've never stopped to really notice these amazing birds for any length of time. Now, I feel mesmerized by the hawks; especially when snapping a close up photo, the
We have a hawk nest right outside our house. We can't get to the nest, but from time to time you can see the babies stretching, flapping their wings, wiggling their little heads. Looks so comical, reminds me of something off the muppets. They are so cute.
Awww...thank you so much for sharing. I'm a TOTAL bald eagle lover and just starting to get into red tailed hawks now. I live in Southern CA in somewhat of a rural area and they are all over the place!! I've been following A LOT of bald eagle nests and wanted to branch out (no pun) and check out videos of red tailed hawks. You did an amazing job on this video. Thank you once again!!!!
Same here. I recently found a red tail nest with 3 chicks and adoring parents. This video was helpful in the aging process of the chicks, as well as, downright entertaining!!
@Verilioness Very thoughtful of you to offer such kind words of appreciation! I must say, it really was my pleasure to experience this process. I'm just thankful that I was afforded the opportunity to make it out there each week and then be able to share it with others. Thank you for being an encouragement to me.
Wow! Absolutely amazing! What a cool experience to get to film somthing like this. Excellent work! I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing! Thumbs Up!
@CrazyTaileZ Yeah, I only hope to be so fortunate next breeding season. It was a real treat to be part of this and I'm glad that I got to share the experience with others. Thanks for the support.
Thank you for sharing I am a little addicted to eagles of Decorah, Iowa. I have watched them from before they were layed the oldest is about 5 weeks old. Nature is a God given gift. Thank you again for the Hawk video it was really cool they are also an amazing creature of prey.
Great video Patroit.. As an aviator nothing in nature seems to fascinate me more than falcons. They are the best flying machines out there with their spectacular flight dynamics and intense use of the thermals created by the warm wind drafts. The wings are quite exquisite as they propel the bird to breakneck speeds whilst maintaining pinpoint flight in combination of needle sharp turns..
Unbelievably beautiful, she was here for 2 days an now has not been here for 2 days. Sniff sniff, certainly she is not done with me yet!! :-) All the research I did said a Red Tail Hawk is a Messenger and Visionary....Awesome! Now I need help to interpret
Perhaps no interpretation needed, just a wonderfully designed creature by an ever more wonderful God. Maybe you were blessed with this hawk so that you would seek the truth and love of Jesus Christ. :) I sure hope you get to see it again!
Patriot36 Yay! She has been back the last 2 days!! And you're right, whatever reason she is here.....I am blessed!! Watched your video (for about the millionth time). Can you say what location was that was filmed in?
Barb Sanders-Cole Awesome! How exciting! She might be a seasonal visitor for you and come back year after year. Yeah, it was just a bit north of Phoenix.
We had a red-tailed hawk nest high in a Douglas fir near our house for five years. We could never see the nest at all, only the parents flying to and from, but the babies were extremely noisy both in and out of the nest. Shriek-shriek-shriek (on an upward note) started in early February and continued through summer when the fledglings were flying and demanding food from their parents. I am surprised both that these youngsters are so quiet and the fact that when they do vocalize, they sound like adults and not like the juvies I used to hear.
We have on NEST in our tree. One year one of my cat's brought one to me,or to my cat pen,it was inside so one of my young ones got it.It wasn't hurt at all, mostly because I feed the crap out of my kitties outside, and they wouldn't know what to do with it anyway. So I put it over the fence into my neighbors yard, and after about 15 minutes,it flew away. They are back now-I think nesting again.I been hearing them scream at me when I am by the tree. That baby I saw was the size of a chicken, huge!
Thanks venuslnd. I'm humbled by your compliments and encouraged at the same time. I'm really glad that you're enjoying these videos, which is my whole goal to begin with!
Great work in capturing this life. Desert looks healthy where you are filming. If you make it down to Tucson, feel free to contact. I have video of a family of Harris Hawks around my house.
@ahmpow You're very welcome! I have a couple of places in AZ where I can watch eagles but it's always from a long way off. I'm glad that your enjoying them hope that you get some good pictures. Truly, only God could create such magnificence and order in a creature. Thanks so much for the kind words!
@WillfullyVague Thanks! When I consider the complexity of a single cell, so complex that even science has only begun to scratch the surface, the transformation of from egg to fully functioning predator is nothing short of a miracle to my way of thinking. : )
So glad that you enjoyed it so much! I get pleasure out of others getting pleasure from my vids. If you liked this you'll also like the "Wilderness Owl Adventure" series of vids. Pass them along to your friends! :)
All you really need is a good set of binoculars and a chart or book of common birds in your area. I guess some good rain gear wouldn't hurt over there either. :) I know there are several birding clubs in Scotland as well.
the only bird watching i do is staring at the seagulls that come to my windowsill for bread. Got two babies and a gull who taps on my window for its daily feed. Need to get out there and see more wildlife, live in Scotland in a small city so its not really ideal lol.
Well, I've very happy that you enjoyed it so much! There's a similar series called Wilderness Owl Adventure. I think it's 3-4 parts and has more "adventure" but some of the video shots turned out really nice. Hope you like them!
Wow, amazing story birdsong! Perhaps you could share your photos in a video or post your video as well. If you do, please send it to me as a video response and I'll post it to the channel. Really glad to think that you've enjoyed so many wonderful views of these awesome creatures. Keep up the great work buddy!
Great video! I'm watching (and trying to video) a pair of Red-Shouldered varietals in my own back yard. Unfortunately the nest is more like 80 feet off the ground so I doubt I'll even come close to the quality of your video.
@MJW427 I'm very fortunate for sure! This was a special video for me since it took about 7 weeks to produce. My longest project to date. Thanks for the compliments and encouragement.
yeah well there's glens nearby, just a few miles from my hometown but i don't have a car and there's few buses up there but it would definitely be fun to go up one day.Used to be out there a lot, literally all over Scotland, be good to get away from the city for a while! lol
@Cr0cket20 Thank you! These birds really are magnificent. As an aviation enthusiast, I really enjoyed watching her flight dynamics in action. The level of sophistication and precision in her little airframe is quite extraordinary. Thanks again, I really appreciate your views.

Thanks very much! I'm in Arizona. My ancestors are from Malta. They owned a large stain glass factory there.
That was awesome.. It reminds me of my experiences with them. They are beautiful birds!
Thanks Danny! I've glad you've been able to experience these creatures!

I enjoyed watching the video till the end... and I like the soundtrack you used at the end part! what song is that?
@heykayde Yes, it was a treat to see and document. I hope the owl series blesses you as well.
Today I actually heard a red tail hawk cry in real life it was so cool to be able to identify them. I live in Ogden Canyon Canyon and Ogden Utah so we get Red Tails we get an osprey that hunts in the rivers we get wild turkeys. @SleepyFox79 Anything with a good optical zoom, 12X-20X. I'm using a Canon that takes four x NiMH rechargeable AA batteries, which will run all day long. I like cameras that take AA because rechargeable are inexpensive and any formula can be used in an emergency including Alkaline. Any camera that uses a li-ion battery pack is typically good as long as the manufacturer designs it with sufficient capacity.
