Thanks for watching...
Thanks for all of your comments very much appreciated!
Loads of "TIME" spent in the field.... I'm out with my goshawk nearly everyday so he knows we (dogs, ferrets and me) will try our hardest to produce for him; helping form a good partnership, giving him excellent hunting opportunities & exercise which increases fitness, this allows good rewards, so you can increase the hunting weight, which gives strength, endurance, confidence & good conditioning.
The most important factor is TIME!
I’m always amazed they don’t grab the ferret
Regardless of knowing/maned they are with them
Sensational videography and editing with music. Congratulations!
love ur taste in music!! everything from The Dark Knight Soundtrack to traditional Classical Themes!!! Awesome!!!
I'm impressed with your video and I recommended it to my friends. Your video seems to be professionally done. Everything from weighing your Peregrine, to the exciting Goshawk flights under dark clouds. Kudos to you, SIR!
Fantastic , so much care and patience you have put into these , brilliant stuff , much appreciated for uploading , joy to watch
Nice video that shows the variations in falconry. Thanks for sharing.
I LOVE PEREGRINES!!! I'm in the process of becoming a falconer, when I become an apprentice I want to fly a kestrel.
Interesting insight into Falconry. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice, with this EPIC music, so beautiful !!! WELL DONE.
Wow! Great work one of the best clips on falconry i have ever seen. Crystal clear and excellent hunting footage to match. Well done.
Warrior77 Thankyou
some of the best footage ive ever seen, great film..
Thanks for your comment. Although we are out most days, it takes a long time to get the footage. We are normally stood behind hedges or too distant to catch the best action shots! Very frustrating sometimes...!
One of the best falconry video available ! Congratulations
I was a Master Falconer for 29 years and I must say, "Great Video!"
What a Graceful bird!
Amazing video!
Don Gagnon Thanks
by far the best falconry vid iv'e ever seen on youtube. it must have taken a long time to make. excellent job! subscribed.
THis is Beautiful, I never thought this ever existed, amazing!
One of the best falconry videos I saw if not THE best ... Thanks for sharing!
Nice Film i love Hawks especially Goshawks.
Loved it, created with detail and great style. 👏🏾
Thanks very much…
First of all, I must congratulate you on a very well done video. One of the best I have seen. I loved the shots of the literature in the library, (many of the same books are in mine as well) The hunting footage was well rounded and filmed professionally. Your Gos, Harris and Peregrine do well in the field. We here in America enjoy the same passion of falconry being akin to the same brotherhood. Once again, well done!
Gyr Falcon Thanks very much for your comment, much appreciated 👍
Love watching this video again. I commented twice under my first TH-cam Channel "Goshawk 1974", now just wanted praise you on all your hawking video uploads. You are the best! OSH :-)
Thanks OSH very much appreciated.
All the best
Nigel
You are the definition of a MAN not to mention a badass. My neighbor has a Deutsch drahthaar, she is amazing in the hunt and absolutely adorable. They are exremely regulated here in the states its insane
A great video! Thanks for sharing. I so need to stop the second job and resume a more active falconry role again... =(
More videos please that was great .
TOTALLY AMAZING & powerful - nice sound-track- scary predators!
great vid, really nicely shot and well chosen soundtrack
That moment when harris hawk awaits to come out the rabbit from it's hole is top !
Amazing birds.
Amazing video, you are quite talented my friend, to be able to teach birds of prey to cooperate with humans. I would love for one day, to be able to do falconry.
There are a number of reasons for hoods, they relax a bird before hunting and also act exactly as horse blinkers, preventing it seeing anything which could startle it. Some falconers hunt out of the hood so when the hood is removed the raptor knows the falconer has put them in the best position to catch a meal.
This gives a strong, reliable hunting partnership where teamwork comes together to put food on the table.
I enjoy flying all of my birds. Soaring a Harris' hawk in the hills is awesome, so is a crow ringing flight or woodcock, pheasant or duck stoop with a peregrine, but personally I like hunting a goshawk in woodland.
lol at 0:26 he looks angry, I wouldn't want to mess with him lol.
Fantastic brill video!!!!
....Why did you have to show us your bookshelf.....I'm gonna be sick I want that bookshelf so bad xD
Love the dog at 6:45
Thanks. Sure is a passionate and dedicated collectors bookshelf. Falconry is a RAGE! Ha ha
The dog is Luga. Nostrils flaring on point in a winter rape seed field. He's an absolute loon!
Hawkins Falconry I was only joking about the blood and the animal being picked apart alive. There's nothing wrong with falconry. How do you get North American birds in the U.K.? Do you breed them in the U.K. or import them from North America? Goshawks and peregrine falcons can be found pretty much anywhere in the world but Harris hawks and red tailed hawks are found in North America where I live.
Awesome video, great job.
very Nice editing Nigel !!!!
brilliant especially loved that gos brilliant
Epic, really well done
MANY THANKS.
Best vid on youtube! cheers!
Thanks very much - Have you looked at the other videos? Here's the link to our channel : th-cam.com/channels/-RCX22O08YH8FMyb4KDZYA.html
you have got lovely birds brilliant video
Wow.. That's a lot of killing... Well trained and very tame birds.
This was filmed over a few years. Our videos contain footage of birds of prey hunting, which is what they do in their natural environment. I don't take pleasure in killing at all, but I do want to see our hawks behaving naturally, just like their wild cousins. Everything caught is dispatched humanely, shown the upmost respect and eaten by myself, hawks, dogs and ferrets... Nothing is wasted
nice video Falconry at its best
Nice fit looking gos!
great video!!!!
5:37 looks so cool 🦅
Ethan Skerry Yes it’s awesome to be out in the field.
Thanks for the comments everyone, very much appreciated!
Nice video!
woooow! amazing video! Abrazos! de un amigo cetrero en México!
(This depends on which branch of longwing falconry you are practising. Some falconers actively pursue pigeons, whilst in other branches of falconry they are a negative distraction)
If they do chase and fail to catch the pigeon they will actively try to find me from quite a distance, this is where I would reward them with a flush from a point leading to a good feed of warm meat - which enforces that positive hunting bond.
If they succeed in catching the pigeon....telemetry.
nice birds...nice house!
PandaPapa146 Not my house, just some land we used to be allowed to hunt on.
6:49 LIKE A BOSS
Amazing video
Many thanks much appreciated.
very cool
Very nice and decent vid wish we had more forests and green in the middle east, im thiniking of flying a hawk which do u recommend? carried a wild pergerine, gyr saker, gyr pergerine for 5 years. currenlty got a gyr pergerine.
very good
very nice
All birds are captive bred and parent reared.
nice peregrine falcon
Wow, absolutely BEAUTIFUL video! I'm a bird watcher and love photographing them. And hawk's, falcon's, and eagle's, are my all around favorite bird's. I'm wondering if you could tell me how much weight can a hawk the size of your's lift, and the biggest prey it can kill?? I'm also wondering how old your bird's are and if they'll get any bigger then they already are?? Sorry so many questions I'm just so fascinated with them!
I'm a little late so no one will comment on this but I had my red tail for 2 months! And! We're off to a good start. Not hunting YET. But soon! His name is Apollo!
Nancy Ray Good to hear that your bond is getting stronger. Good luck to Apollo on his first hunts.
Hawkins Falconry and good luck for you too! Your hawks are very beautiful and talented. Your falcon is very cute too! And so are your dogs ^w^ :)
I'm thinking to either get a Harris hawk or a goshawk. Which one would be better? My mom is saying to get a Harris hawk because they are nicer and our sponsor already breeded them and the goshawk is too expensive because he didn't breed any of them yet. I'm very talkative 😁 sorry about that. But which type of hawk would be best?
Nancy Ray There isn’t a best bird? Your bird choice should be influenced by what quarry you have available, the time, dedication, experience and commitment is the same with all species. They should all be flown most days. Just depends on what you want to catch and the style in which you want to see it.
Well, thank you for the advice! You are very nice :)
why do they put those things on their heads? Sorry for the question, I really don't know and it seems cruel, though I'd really like to learn falconry. I love hawks.
Hi Alex,
Hoods calm the bird down, just like blinkers on a horse.
me encanto el vídeo y mas aun la música
nice
excellent vid mate-i have a big female gos-which in your opinion is the best of all your birds to fly??
wow such a good video.
HOW DO YOU GET ALL THOSE BOOKS! I could only find 1 in my whole life
i now this guy
nicee
So nice bro
luga and otto if u aint gussed yet its lucas
i might be wrong but should the hawks be allowed to eat their prey? i was told the handlers usually take the prey away in order to prevent them from filling up and then refusing to hunt again? (the act of which always struck me as rather difficult considering the long distances the hawks sometimes travel....how would the handlers manage to get there in time to take the prey away before the hawks eat them?)
Depends on wether you intend to hunt more or if it is the last one for the day. Anyway you always give some reward be it a full gorge if you wish to leave a good impression or just the amount for the day in order to keep weight but not loose interest. They are like athletes, balanced diet, little fat and lots of muscle and endurance.
what are the musics?
poppy, fredddie and i dont now the harris
attach a go pro cam on that hawk
And i wanted to ask, I’m not sure if it was the same clip but how come the ferrets and the harris hawks don’t clash??
Ethan Skerry Ferrets are always kept in view of the birds aviary and introduced very early in training. I always hunt with light coloured ferrets so the birds don’t confuse them for rabbits.
Hawkins Falconry oh fair enough
Woow 😍
Oh to be rich.
Robert Dorman Hi Robert, My full time job is a fireman (20yrs), I work with my birds as a second job so I can afford to practise my passion and be in the field as much as possible.
I only have a maximum of three birds so this gives them sufficient daily exercise.
I hunt with them and eat what we catch. Dogs, hawks and ferrets all share, nothing is ever wasted.
I was in the infantry from the age of 16 (Guards Depot in London).
This taught me determination, hard work, manners, etiquette and respect.
Excellent, while appearances may lead to the presumption of wealth, at its base has been hard work and dedication... thanks for sharing the “rest of the story”... and thanks for your service.
Мужик,как маньяк кормит с таким возжделением с рук окровавленным мясом своих птиц.
So nice bro
