We've recommended some seriously hefty boys and girls on the Board Game Masterpieces series so far, but here's something to give your wallet a rest. With just a deck of cards and some incongruous bullish branding, 6 Nimmt manages to be one of the most addictive games of all time. And Adam's most played game EVER!

My in-laws (specifically my sister in-law and her husband) broke this gem out on a camping trip. We played 5 rounds in one sitting, and not one person even so much as considered getting up from the table. I felt like I had found a drug that I had been craving and never known it. The only problem is that I completely forgot the name. Now it's in a shopping cart on Amazon. Thank you so much, Adam and crew. You have brought me so much genuine jubilation because of this video.

So, "Hornochse" (which is the theme for the game) is mostly used as an insult in the neighbourhood of "idiot" or "moron" but with a hefty dash of stubbornness mixed in in German. The game itself is quite brilliant with a lot of mental footwork involved.

    • @gnosjo

I really hope it blows up in popularity

Most addictive game in my collection is Spirit Island. It has been by far the most requested game, and if I bring it to the table early, forget about playing anything else. Everyone wants one more go with a new spirit. I have had to leave it behind on occasion in order to get my friends to try all the other games I compulsively buy thanks to this channel (among others). I will definitely be picking this game up as an add on on my next board game order.

6nimmt is wonderful. So easy and cheap that anyone can pick it up, just as good with 3 as with 10 players, so quick that you can play a round whenever you have spare time, but still so engaging that you easily can play it for several hours!
Side note - While this victory certainly didn't count, I am rooting for you to win at least 22 BGC games this year, Adam. I don't think you, or whatever poor souls you will have to drag down into that hellscape with you, deserves the arduous experience of 15 hours of Monopoly.

Not sure if it's the most addictive game in my collection, but Cribbage holds a special place in my heart. My dad taught my brother and I the game when we were three and we've been playing it ever since. I've been trying to find more people to play it with ever since dad died last May. So far, not much luck because everyone wants to play games over their phones and that game, and let's be honest ALL games, are better in person. There's so much more to a gaming experience when you're sitting across from someone, not staring at a screen. I'll be buying this game for sure to try out, thanks for the recommendation!

You should do a video on Monopoly Deal, it’s the card game version of monopoly. It takes what’s considered one of the worst board games, at least the worst of the mainstream ones, and makes it super fun and adds a ton of excitement and strategy.
One thing I’ll add about the game, much like regular monopoly where people make house rules, you can do it with this without breaking the game but rather make it more compelling. The game shines with 4-5 people but often it’s just me and my partner playing With just two people playing the standard rules the game would be over in minutes so we make a few changes. In the game you need to collect 3 full property sets to win, so when it’s just the two of us we double that to 6. Also there are “wild cards” you can use to make property sets: there’s nothing in the rules that say you can’t use multiple wild cards in one set, but we limit ourselves to one wild card per set just to add that extra challenge.

I introduce this game to EVERYONE I can. I'm still a little rough around the edges at teaching it, but after a hand, usually the table is getting it. What a great game. I love the chaos of higher play counts. 7 is probably the sweet spot for me. Any more and you may as well just play your cards blind, you'll do about as well....still fun though.

My friends and I are addicted to Disney and Marvel Villainous. There's only 4 of us, so it's a really nice game to just grab and play. There's so much tension throughout as you don't know if you should further your goal or maybe try and set someone else back. Adam should look into "Professional mode", where cards are played on the right or the left. Since finding the mode on BGA we have played this game in this form ever since.
A lower card pushes the row from the left
A higher card still goes to the right
You choose where you which row you want to put the card if it is equidistant between a start of row and end of row card
The first time we played it was after midnight, and after a few drinks.. puzzled looks and lots of laughter followed.

It seems devilishly easy at the start of the round, but as the game progresses you realise you are infact an idiot of the highest order by completely screwing yourself over and backing yourself into the diseased ridden, rat infested corner of unintentional self-sabotage! When the torturous nightmare is over and conceding is now the only way forward, the quick polite question by others at the table of “Another round?” Is very quickly responded with a loud and sharp “DAMN RIGHT” as you try to redeem your poor little damaged ego and create a joyful memory of victory to wipe away that sordid memory of self flagellation….. always keeps me, and my weird S&M ego, coming back for more.

When I play this, I always seem to mutter the sentence "I hate my hand, these cards suck"
Also, I hate when you have a lovely run in your hand, like 21 is the start of a row, and I have 22, 24, 26. Lovely. What a great way to empty my hand ... Then some bellend plays 36 after my 22, and essentially JUNKS MY HAND, ITS BULLSHIT.
Saying that, I love this game.

Speaking of German games, you guys should make a video on "The Great Dalmuti".

Really wish Adam would make a video in this style but reverse, for Monopoly. I don't really know how it plays, but everyone says its bad, especially Adam. I want to know why! Please, Adam?

Although bit more difficult on the scale, I would say that Welcome to.. is a great example of being addictive. You are just writing numbers. That's it. What could make you think more than 10 seconds? Surely there is not a situation where you are f*cked by all of the choices and you have to drop stuff in order to write 1 simple number :D
It's a fun game, bit harder to teach to people new to board games, but I think it can be really addictive, because of the simplicity.

Thank you for saying "addictive" in the thumbnail. Makes my inner grammar nerd go crazy whenver I hear someone incorrectly say "addicting" urgh

I totally botched a teach of this game after a few pints, and now my friends won't play this game again no matter how much I tell them, "It's honestly great guys!"

i don't know why there is bull iconography or why points are bad, but the reason there are 104 cards is that is how many cards you need for a 10 person game.
