Chip and dip with candle holder is likely a toothpick holder?
That makes way more sense.
that’s an old chip and dip set. The dip win on the upper cup, and then the chips went in the bottom unless there was a section you could put two different dips, one with chips surrounding it, and one up above my grandmother had like three of those she hated all of them.
That what I thought too. But not toothpicks but the bigger food picks.
There I was imagining all kinds of romantic chip and dip nights! 😂😂😂
That makes sense, I first thought shot glass!
I found my very first Glassybaby at the thrift store this weekend. Only $1.99. I was thrilled.
Hi joslyn, thanks for another great video. The chip and dip tray is actually a toothpick holder not a candle holder. It's great for cheese or fruit 🍓
The Log Cabin cookie jar at 3:53 is musical and at least 60 years old I have the one my mother received from someone as a wedding gift before I was born through the mail totally shattered that she lovingly glued back together. It is in my treasured items cabinet. I'm 57. She passed from beast cancer when I was 16.
My parents had those same cruets; they are Hazel Atlas. They got them along with the matching salad bowl for a wedding gift in 1955. My sister now has the cruets, and was able to find the replacement salad bowl on eBay. Absolutely beautiful mid-century set.
Tobin James is a winery in the Paso Robles area of California. The star design is their logo.
I get both sides of thrift store buying. Most are for profit now, including Goodwill. The CEO of a National thrift store makes high six figures, Salvation Army is in seven now. That makes me wonder. I get that they don't get brakes on rent and utilities and they do have a payroll to meet, but they get the stuff for free. It's all gross profit.
From the reseller's POV, I don't have to buy from them but I do out of convenience. To travel to the places that are different than the thrift store, I have to factor in gas and mileage and many times, I don't find anything.
It's getting tougher to find a bargain, but every once in a while, a monkey does fall out of the tree. So chips and all, I go in search for the elusive. It still happens. Recently I bought a pair of Mosur vases c1900 for 13 dollars, it was Tuesday senior day and they were 15 percent off.
Happy hunting!
Chip and dip is actually for mini meatballs or weenies, etc and dip the holder is for toothpicks. You should go back for that. They sell well this time of year for 30.00, 40.00, 50.00 or more.
I love the term "peach luster". I will add that to my memory bank. Good thing you and I are tall so we can reach those high up art pieces!
Hi 👋, I think the holder on the chip and dip is to hold pics for orderves. I’m not spelling that correctly lol. 😊
Kim it's spelled Hors d' oeuvre, it's a very difficult word I actually like your version of it better😂
Ebay says it's a vintage chip and dip with candle holder although toothpick holder makes more sense.
Even when you don’t fill your cart it’s such fun searching with you. Loved the colourful art work.
I have 7 of those wooden cats & they sit in my kitchen window sill. Each one is different. 😊
Fruit, fruit dip, and toothpick holder
The statue is like one I bought in the Dominican Republic. It is a sun goddess. I also have the moon goddess.
I just bought her last week in Santa Domingo- she is a tourist piece. But I still love her.
The holder on the chip and dip is for toothpicks- my mom had one just like that - she put meatballs in the large dish and a sauce in the small dish
Oh man! The corningware with lids! I have a stack, no lids!
I have found that butter pats are also dood for holding used tea bags.
I'm just here for the commentary! Hahaha. "Romantic chip and dip!" Hahaha
Jocelyn, hi you can give the extra things in the baggies away in a giveaway or just re donate them as long as you get what you liked 😊😊😊
The miniature tea set and pieces can be saved for Laurel to play with when she’s older. She could have a well filled dollhouse. 🥰
Hi Jocelyn. On the first Goodwill stop, I saw Italy on the back of the funky critter sculpture too!
I couldn't see past the chip under the headpiece (3:33). Funny how Jocelyn buys damaged goods in one Goodwill and purges the chippies in another!!
Shrimp cocktail sauce with cocktail forks
I searched sold Hallmark Ornaments… WOW!!! Now I want to go on an ornament hunt !!! Lol 🤪
Yes. That is a toothpick holder on the set. Worth possibly $35 up.
I just bought the Anchor Hocking teal one and paid way more....
At the 2:30 mark, the 2 piece, well 3 piece 'chip and dip' set... that little metal piece, that you thought was for a candle? Probably for toothpicks. Just a guess.
I love it when you aren't sure and you ask your viewers. Learn a lot from you and by reading the comments.
Loved the lil blue drawers chest. By the green made in italy figure. Would buy it.
Me too! 🙂
Come to New Zealand Jocelyn. We have fantastic Goodwills here.
Where are the Goodwills in New Zealand?
@@wendy-diannwendy-diann8060 we call them Op shops or second hand shops. They are everywhere.
I have spilled the oil from those lamps on my hands too! I was looking at a pottery oil lamp and I of course flipped it over to see if it was marked. The store I was in did not have a public bathroom so I could wash my hands. Thankfully my husband had a tissue in his hoodie pocket I could wipe my hands with. I couldn't wait to get to the next store to wash my hands!
The metal dish missing a handle looks like Glo Hill from Canada, we see alot here! They are mid century serving ware, the legs and handles are usually Bakelite 😊
Love your videos I have learned so much.
I loved the little white seahorses to the right of the green vase. I wonder what they were?
The number one Hallmark ornament to bee on the lookout for is any, but especially the first in the series, of the BIRDS series. Look it up and you’ll see what I mean.
Those "vintage" santas are a dime a dozen. We buy them on the wholesale floral network. I guarantee it was new.
Love that you show us that there are some stores or days you just don’t find much because that’s the reality of treasure hunting for resale! I don’t think I heard you say one darling though! 😩
5 Goodwill's in one day is def tiring! Take a well deserved day off Jocelyn! 😊
There were two Partylite candle sconces (17:49), MCM style glass panels with soldered copper frames. Lol, I noticed them right off cause I found one and I love it!
That mid-century chip and dip was a toothpick holder😇
The crusts go with a bowl. As a set, they used to be around 50.00 second hand.
Love how you do cart review, sometimes common sense, sometimes google search! Thanks for being you!
Oh, this is the Goodwill that has that fire detector sound going off, every now and then. What is that sound? LOL
Hi Joslin, Love watching from Chicago. 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
The pewter whale belt buckle ... one sold just like that on Sep 22nd for $60.
Ha, yuck to the cruets. I just today in Gettysburg saw a Lark truck. That is weird.
There’s some tobacco leaf plates on the bottom shelf as you were putting the silver tone plate back! $$$
There looked like a MacKenzie Childs round “box” for lunch or appetizer plates!
I saw that also!! I wondered if anyone else thought the something
Berner Brothers warehouse has the lids 😂😂😂
Tobin James is a wine company in the central coastal area of California
We pass by it when we drive over to the coast.
lol, chip & dip date night. Good one.
Tobin James is a well known winery in my area!
Hey neighbor, I love seeing other central coasters shopping with Jocelyn at all her cool stores. Ours are crap.
The beeping in the Goodwill always makes me think my fire alarm battery needs changed 😂!
@thecrazylamplady Would/could you make a video on how to start reselling? Specifically the way you do it where you source from a lot of thrift stores. This would be so interesting and helpful
I think I saw a Rae Dunn blue chapel?
Are you opening a vintage and antique store of all your goodies ? I can't wait for November 1st
Some goodwill visits are better than others. 😊
You make me want to go to Goodwill again. I haven't been in months.
Chips and dip by candle light. 😂😂
I enjoy your channel!!
2:41 I think that is a toothpick holder on the chips and dip set.
Loved the video❤😊.
Buying for Christmas resale is in full swing!!!
Hallmark is hit or miss, I pick them up at flea markets, for $1. Some sold for $20 plus, and some I still have. Sports do well for me. A Santa on a beach barefooted sold for $22.
I have that piggy… and he is atomically correct…. 🤣🤣🤣
Wish that first place would fix their smoke doctor or whatever that incessant beeping that happens every time you are in there.
Need a better view of the scarcrow painting. I hope it goes in the booth so we can see it better.
what was the brass candle sconce at 12:40? It looked a little arts and crafts
Was the little green figurine's foot damaged.
The little cat is a pot sitter.
You missed the Mud Man at the first store!!
Thanks for the idea
I found an artisan rincanado emperor penquins and chick figurine at the goodwill in my home town for $4
The last 3 shopping videos were great. I want that white cat- so cute. I noticed that almost 40 of your BIN have ended on eBay without being sold. Are we leaving eBay completely?
I looked up sold comps for hallmark ornament. The highest seller is Scarlett O'Hara!?!?! $2000!!! Whyyyyyyy? Lol😂
It’s so silly that they took the price tag from the bottom and placed them on the design! Can they just stick it next to that?🤪😄
By the way,Dagny found the lids in another Goodwill,I think last year..on a holiday!😂
Star Wars and Scarlett O'Hara hallmark ornaments seem to be selling for the most
Omg That sun bowl 😍
Baggies ❤❤❤❤❤ I love the baggies 😂
Love your videos
❤ chip and dip for date night 😂😂
Enjoyed the video. JoAnn
Just wondering...If I ran into Jocelyn at the antique store, would she say "this one looks like it has some age?"
Hilarious. If she saw me she’d say…”some serious crazing.” Lol
Your amazing!❤ California
Loved the artwork. And the black checkerboard piece @ 12:43 caught my attention, but you didn't look at it. I'm always hopeful. Thanks for taking us along today! 💙
Was that Finland Littala glass mixed in with all that glass?
Your hair color & style is very attractive. One of my favorites. I commend you for your tolerance for the background noise in the store.
You were so quick to identify the Glassbake dish! I have one in my cupboard.
I do love her hair. Her tolerance for the background noise is much higher than mine. The romantic- date- night chip&dip comment cracked me up.
It's a toothpick holder
Interesting art!
What is a glassybaby?😊
What do you mean by cheap milk glass vase? Are some not worth much as others? What is the difference?
The less substantial weight could be an indicator of cheaper milk glass…
Not always true so research yourself on the types of milk glass..
I think she means that it's a type of bud vase that was mass-produced in huge numbers and is relatively recent. Being so plentiful, it doesn't have much resale value.
@@marlamork7350 thank you!
@@davidwhitten2097 thank you!
True. My grandmother that I lived with growing up had milk glass vases like that, and she was poor. I never thought they would become more valuable. I always thought they were nothing special so I don't know why a lot of people like them now.😄 Nostalgia, I guess.
Would have picked up the hand blown glass item from “The Lark“ you could have more than quadrupled your money back on that.
Mushroom Trivet
I think the 'scarecrow' may have some religious symbolism. As in Goya's Third of May, but I can't see much. And I'm probably over reaching without closer examination. Lol.
Whales have been good to you.
Did I see a fire and light bowl?
There would be nice candle drip in your chip and dip set..lol
Or the chip n dip tray is for a candle to keep cheese dip soft?
Thanks 😊
Tobin James is a winery here on the Central Coast of California.
I’m so jealous by your local Goodwills. We only have one in my area and it’s mostly clothes. I saw so much on the shelves of this “small” one that I would have loved to grab!
It’s slim pickings over here 😂
I live vicariously through your videos.
We live very close! I feel the same, so much disappointment at Goodwill
Hey it’s Jeanetta
Chips and Dip and who would have known the Electric goes out ?😁😁😁😂
