- Thanks for watching. The tools and procedures used here should generally cover all of the external spring, steel slider Triumph forks for 1964 onwards as fitted to 500cc, 650cc, and 68-70 Tridents. The specialty tools used in the video are available for purchase in the links below. Not all of the forks are identical inside; they changed at times over the years and may not necessarily match these in the video but the general construction and procedure is the same. If something doesn't budge when you're doing these, try a little heat.

Great video. My experience lies with motocross and Harley suspension. This set-up with your descriptive walkthrough is like a walk in the park!
What a satisfying video. Thanks a bunch for inspiring me to do this job myself.
Great video! You explain everything in detail along with possible issues one may encounter. I can now see what I need to do. Fantastic!
Thank you very much for this video. I’ve been looking for a good video on a fork tear down for a while. This helped a ton!
Excellent video, thank you.
Thanks for a great video - and a great voice!
Perfectly presented video! Thanks so much for a no-nonsense quality tech video. Nice one fro UK! Chris

Thanks so much! and tips for compressing progressive fork springs while sliding stanchion tubes back into the upper triple tree?
Great breakdown of the forks ! Can you do video on why forks TOP OUT ( Clunk ) on rebound and what might be the fix ?
I dont even own a bike like this but was interesting to watch 🤟
nice vice clamps
Is it possible to change out fork seals without pulling the stanchions from the tripletree? I'm thinking I can take off the front wheel then unscrew the fork seal holder and pull the bottom part off the stanchion while leaving it in place. Maybe.
Can I ask which way the ali separator tube should fit, please? Both of mine are slightly reduced in diameter at one end only, for about 3/8". I have removed them from a 1965 T100SS, and assumed that they were the same diameter for their whole length. Thanks in advance, from Nammo in central UK
very good is the bsa a65 the same?
I was hoping you could help me answer a question. Do these forks have a shuttle valve or do these have only the restrictor?
They have the restrictor untill sometime in 68.
What about reassembly?
Do you have a special tool to install the fork seal in the holder ?
I'm just doing the same thing did you find a tool or easy way of installing a new seal back in the holder?
You can use a pipe or huge socket
Same steps for a 1970 Bonneville? 650 T-120
Where are the shuttle valves??
Looked familiar 🤔
Hey guys. great video. Your site is down :-/
I have a set of shocks that need rebuilt but I'll probably let someone who knows what they are doing. I'm missing some parts.
Lubrication.
