Thanks for this vid, I've been watching a few on changing trans fluid, and everyone dumps most of it all over their floor. Your Funnel trick/suggestion def. makes this much cleaner, will be using this when I change mine. Also, first one to show the top fill location.
I am glad that this trick was an easy way to not make a mess for anyone and everyone to use! Thank you for watching!! Please help me out and subscribe for more!
Thanks for the video. Tip, clean the fill hole area. I noticed you put the funnel in to fill and it was crunchy and assume dust and small sand got in 😢
You may use DCT fluid as well, but gear oil 75w-90 may also be used. However, as you have stated DCT Fluid is recommended in the Owners manual supplement.
There is a full plug above the drain plug on the side of the transmission that you may choose to use, but I find it easier to fill from the fill plug on top of the transmission next to the shifter, where you can pour your fluid into.
Yeah I also used the top plug above the transmission to fill it as well. But my question was how do you know you’re not over filling if you don’t take out the upper fill plug on the side and let it drip out? I kept the upper side plug off and had the fluid drip out so I know I’m at the proper level. I noticed in the video they just drained and filled without checking the level…was just curious if there’s any issues over filling.
@@13nloz16The transmission takes up 1.7Qts to 2Qts of Fluid for it to be full, I am usually going off of the fluid levels left in the bottles as I add the fluid into the transmission
Sweet ! i need to do thin on my ST wagon, great video.
Thank you for the support! I have more videos on the way!

@@onefasteg1057 it was some of the stuff I couldn’t get to, it was along the hole. I tried to clean it off the best I could 😅
Why use 75W90 instead of DCT fluid, which is what I believe Ford recommends?
Just as long as its GL-5 or higher it can be used, per Edge Auto Sport.
I believe you need DCT fluid in the transmission
Not gear oil 2:29

@@Nick_UCARS Agreed but the Amsoil DCT or Motul DCT fluid shifts a lot better.
@@hersheyroseman4508 agreed, Motul is just something I have always used. AMS Oil has amazing fluids too.
@@Nick_UCARS Yep, both good companies you can beat the Price for Amsoil for the performance.
Ive heard an see that if you want to expend the tran life use 75 90 instead of the dct ive seen pictures of how te trans ends with dct oil so na
Does the SE have a top fill hole like that?
It should have a fill hole up on top like I showed in this video, but if it doesn't you will have to fill it from the side with a pump.
how often does this needs to be changed?
@@6mariooo235 last I read, it was 100k miles for a transmission flush.
PTU and RDU is 500 track miles, or extreme heat cycle
@@Nick_UCARS do you have a wishlist or something for all the fluids?i have the car from 2016 and i think its time for new oils
Hmm service book shows a side fill hole??
Yes there is also a full hole from the side of the transmission, but it’s easier to fill from the top.
Thanks. Great video by the way!
@@truthform I appreciate the support
Don’t you have to open the top side fill hole and have the fluid drip out to have proper fill level??

St and RS aren’t the same. But still informative
I know they aren't the same, but the orientation of the drain plug and fill plugs are.
