How?!?! I was raised Christian, both my parents are Christians, my sister refuses to associate with organized religions but is a firm believer and I was left with the burden of being (unwillingly, I might add) an atheist, super jealous of believers. I had no idea Knowles was an atheist for so long. I don't mean to bother you really, but if you have any suggestions for me, please do share. Thank you very much. Have a lovely Saturday!

@@melissanogueira8195 All good, I'm happy to answer if I can. I started having stronger and stronger feelings like something was missing from my life. A pull to something more than myself. I am doing ok in life (family, kids, sport, career, money, etc) but something was missing. I had no clue what that was, until I went to our local church, and had an intense feeling that this was right. I still had a long way to go to fully open my heart to Jesus, but I kept going back, listening to worship songs, reading the Word, praying, and studying the historical evidence for Jesus. I realised that I had been completely wrong for decades. I decided that I actually believed that it is all true (this was a massive thing for me) and then fully committed and gave myself to God. I truly am a new creation. I have had the most insane "God nudges" and answered prayers. It's really real! But this did not start happening until I 100% committed my life to Jesus. There is still a lot that I can't explain, but I have to have faith that I will understand when God is ready for me to understand. Honestly, the thing that was missing from my life (the missing part of the jigsaw) was Jesus. I dunno if that makes sense, I hope it's ok. I sincerely hope find some space for Jesus in your heart. You have a blessed Saturday.

@@melissanogueira8195 I have this nudging feeling to give you some advice. You desire something christians have but believe you can't comprehend it.
But what if I told you that you could begin to? Atheists deny God and the supernatural but in doing so they blind themselves to something simple... Disbelief in God doesn't negate anything the bible teaches.
So the solution to your problem is to read the bible with the desire to learn what you do believe in 1st.
I personally recommend you read it with the desire to learn the philosophy taught within. For this purpose i would read or listen to Ecclesiastes, Psalms, Proverbs, Then the Gospels. While the philosophy is in the whole bible, it is most evident in those books within in my opinion.
A mistake many make is that they try to force their faith and belief, but such things cannot be forced. Instead seek the truth with an open heart. Learn the wisdom to be found in the bible. I personally believe the bible has something of value for everyone who seeks something through it with an open mind.
      Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

I used to be a hard core atheist. one day, I was at a park by a large river having a picnic with my family. I went to the garbage bin to dispose of the garbage when I noticed right by the bin, on the floor, a crucifix. I picked it up to throw it in the garbage. but I didn't. I couldn't. I didn't want to bring it back because I was an atheist and it wouldn't make any sense for me to be conflicted about throwing a crucifix in the garbage, right? I took it to a nearby pine tree and hung it on a high branch, and left it there... fast forward four years, am reading the bible, praying the rosary, attending mass on sunday, and proclaiming the gospel to the world. I thank jesus because even when I turn my back on him he never abandoned me. Christ is Lord.

I’m converting to Eastern Orthodox Christianity, raised Roman Catholic. I returned to my faith about a year ago, and around that time, I was passing by this Russian Orthodox Cathedral, “St Alexander Nevsky,” on my way to work. Every time I passed the church, I’d think to myself, what a beautiful church… well, fast forward 1 years, while researching the history of Christianity, I made the decision to convert to the faith, and started looking up churches in the area, and fell in love with the St Alexander Cathedral, and decided to go there for my first Orthodox service. I didn’t make the connection at the time when I was looking up churches in my area, but I will tell you, when I pulled into that parking lot for the first time, my mind was blown 🤯
I had passed that church several times when I was in the area heading to work, and forgot about the church, as my route to work changed due to traffic patterns… Now, I’m attending catechism at that parish, and going to Divine Liturgy every Sunday.

I became a Christian as a child. There have been sooo many genuinely life saving coincidences in my life it can only be that God watches out for me along with the rest of His children. For instance I have been three car totalling accidents in the span of 30 years. All of then were someone crossing in front of me at traffic lights. None of the three were determined to be my fault and in none of the accidents was anyone injured. I once had a tie rod end break on a car and when the wheel caused me to vear off the road at 30 mph the car stopped precisely in someone's driveway instead wiping out a telephone pole mere yards away. To top it all off The person whose driveway I was in was a member of the church I was attending. Praise God for His perfect timing. Remember Trump has been making Christian overtones. My conscience ate at me, so I did something I don't do often, I prayed for a similar opportunity to present itself so that I may redeem myself (if only partially). About a week later, a guy knocks on my home door asking for $10 because his mom was in the hospital and he needed help. I looked him in the eyes then ended up giving him $40.
I lived in that house for about 8 years, not once before or after that day did a single individual just go door to door asking for help. My only regret is that I gave him 4 times what he asked for and not 7 times.

In the book he basically just forgives everything and everyone even if they haven't repented. Bear gave it a great review calling it THE MOST FAITH AFFIRMING BOOK HE'S EVER READ. At 24, I was becoming a lot more serious about my faith and was thinking of becoming Catholic. At the same time, I was moving to Belgium for my studies. It was super difficult to find an apartment in the city that I was moving to, especially as a foreigner, and I was really praying to find a good place.
I ended up finding a place that was the perfect size and location for me (thank you Jesus), and the first weekend that I moved in I found out there was a Catholic church just a 5 minute walk away! It was not just *any* Catholic church, but the *only* English speaking Catholic church in the city (all others were Dutch speaking).
I enrolled in RCIA the next month, and I have been a Catholic for 1.5 years :D
God also put so many wonderful people into my life during the time of my conversion.

I believe you will find this fruitful.
What you mention about discernment has been systematically (as much as possible) described by St Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556). St. Ignatius calls this the "Discernment of Spirits", and another type on discerning God's will for your life.
Father Timothy Gallagher has studied St Igantius work on this and has videos on it, which he calls "Ignatian Discernment".

"I do not see coincidence. I see providence." -- Morpheus. Get this. Among many my prayers, one is to be the Lord's warrior, and he sends me to Fort Campbell, KY. (An hour north of Nashville. What up DW!) Fort Campbel is an Army post but I'm Air Force. Not unheard of but still rare (I'm computers "Comm" by trade). But here's the kicker. Outside of Ft Campbell is St Michael Catholic Church (my namesake) and on post is a gym with no other than MY LAST NAME. Lozada.
God sent me to place where there is my First and Last name. I'm still in the thick of it. I have yet to see the fullness of what this means other than God indeed does answer. It may not be how you intended however lol.
(Additional prayer is for Mission, Ministry, and Marriage) Pray for me. Cheers & Blessings. Deo Gratias.

I’ve grown up Christian. And mistakenly misunderstood teachings and scriptures that left me in a place of feeling condemned.
I believed in Christ. I believed in His Scriptures and His Prophets. But I just felt so woefully unable to access His Grace.
Something clicked, something snapped into place in my understanding. Of course I felt unworthy of Christ’s Grace, that’s why it’s called “grace” and not “reward.”
You cannot “earn” His Love. It’s already given, it’s already extended. I CANNOT save myself, nor can any work I offer up earn my Salvation. The enabling mechanism, the linchpin, the Person who is sufficient to save is Christ.
My heart has softened, I am less harsh to myself and others. My prayers seek out His Will, rather than my own. Christ is my Savior, personally, individually.
And He is sufficient to be that for all who have lived, all who yet live, and all who ever will live. He is The Messiah, The Son of God. In His Name, even Jesus Christ, Amen.

I havent gotten one yet up to this point so i decided to get one but i wanted it to be home made and i know someone that might be able to help me make it happen and told myself next time i see him ill ask if he can help. I get back to work and go to deliver some stuff to one of the offsite buildings at the hospital i work for, and who do i run into but the exact person i was just thinking about less than 2 minutes prior. Ive had things like that happen before but that was the quickest and most precise its ever happened and all i could think was, “ok, god wants me to pick up my cross”. The one greatest lesson I have learned over the years, is that God doesn't give us what we want , but if you open your heart God gives you what you need. When times are tough, when every choice seems like a terrifying one, I always have put myself in God's hands and I have never been let down..he has always led my family and I down a path that is the path which turned out best.

For me I prayed to God when I was in a dead end relationship, I prayed that if we were meant to be God keep us together if we weren’t then let us part ways. 2 weeks later she broke up with me to my surprise. So I thought this must be a coincidence. I prayed again as I learned more about Jesus. So one day I’m driving down to work, a 2 hour drive, I did this weekly, I prayed for God to help me believe in him and restore faith in my heart, 20 minutes later I’m taken down a diversion because of Road works, down a road I’d never been on and then I saw it. The biggest sign I’d ever seen, simply saying Jesus has Risen. And that’s when I knew, it’s time to give my life to Christ.

The difference between this and the new-age "law of attraction" is that God will give you what you need, not what you want. Christian synchronicity always leads to wholesome things.
A few months ago, I was struggling with some family issues and feeling down. I randomly went to a cafe I don't normally go to, and I was reading something about the prophet Elijah who I had been studying. I noticed a guy in the corner with a massive Bible (unusual since this was in Cambodia, where there are very few Christians). He told me his name was Elijah, and he was a Christian counsellor from Singapore. He leant me a book to read while he was doing his Bible study, I opened it on a page talking exactly about the trauma I was going through (it was a book by Henri Nouwen). Lots of things like this happened, especially meeting with random Christians with pieces of the puzzle. I also noticed people who are not so nice quickly showing their true colours. Prayer is like having a compass pointing you in the right direction.

What Russel said about rev3:20 is exactly what I did 20 years ago. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. I said Jesus if you are real and you are the truth then my door is open and I meant it in my heart, and he did just that. It changed me into someone that prior, if we did the “are u a nice person test” where u ask if you had a daughter would you want her to marry someone like you? My answer before Jesus would be an emphatic NO. Now, I pray that she meets someone like me when she’s older, as in someone that loves God more than her. And the loving God thing I laughed at, I was watching Kent Hovind 20 years ago and he said if you love the Lord and I laughed out loud and said that’s asking a bit too much, loving someone or something I’ve never clapped eyes on, but God had the last laugh, because he changes your heart to a heart of flesh just like the bible talks about. You only have to watch films today to realise Jesus is the truth the way and the life cos it’s only EVER him they ridicule, or you his name as a cuss word. Imagine that? People don’t believe in Jesus like my brother and dad yet they use his name more than me. It’s like me hitting my hand with a hammer and screaming oh Father Christmas surely!! His name is etched into our hearts, his name is above all names. ❤
