The differences between liberals and reactionary people seem profound and even unbridgeable. It is because they are rooted in personality characteristics and biological predispositions. On the whole, research has shown that conservatives desire security, predictability, and authority more than liberals do, and liberals are more comfortable with novelty, nuance, and complexity.
Very well done, especially considering the length, but I think that the examples of less governmental interference were exceptions. Even in social issues, liberals want more government intervention: from early integration efforts like busing to more modern ones like Affirmative Action; redistribution of wealth programs from early welfare to Obamacare, all of it takes more government involvement in people's lives. Marijuana and the border might be good examples of where liberals want less government.
You have an original meaning, which is closer to what the meaning is outside the US. The US meaning which is closer to what he said. Than you have the political media meaning, which can be all over a map, usually as a purjorative. It means everything to the point it means nothing.
I disagree with what he said about less government intervention in social issues and policy. Liberals in today’s world use ever more government intervention to force people to accept social upheavals that they don’t believe in and don’t want to support. Liberals want government to control more aspects of people’s lives, not less. Classical liberalism, which is more aligned with Libertarianism today, wants less government over reach in society. Liberals support growing the size of government and support larger and larger budget deficit spending, along with the inevitable increases in all forms of taxation. Conservatives support smaller government with lower taxation which, in a perfect world that never quite exists, allows people to take care of themselves and their families without needing the ever expanding social welfare state that Liberals support.
Okay i belive everyone is equal but there sould be a govenment to keep order but just that to keep order and if the populis wants to legalize say gay marriage then thats wat happens. so am i a liberal or what? (Also i support gay merriage and equality and freedom of speech)
TheGr1mm R3aper I don't see what's wrong being a liberal. I'm in the independent/netrual which means I don't have a party and also that I on both sides of the political parties (Democrat and Republican).
Actually, to give more money to the poor people of society is some socialism. Liberal actually means less acting of the government in any cases. And german liberal parties like the free democratic party FDP are way to economically liberal. They are for way lower taxes for the companys because of lobbyism and corruption.
wow sir you did it in under a minute where as others still try to explain it 13 minutes deep in the video
