    Just a headsup for everyone who is using the fairikabe HDMI adapter or any HDMI adapter for that matter.
    Audio does work with them, BUT you have to put the xreal air in a different mode.
    This was added about 5 months ago in the firmware. You can switch the Xreal Air's to HDMI audio mode instead of the default usb audio mode.
    You do this by holding down the brightness DOWN button till you hear the glasses make a sound. The imagine in the glasses will go blank for a few seconds and comes back with working audio.
    Don't thank me, Thank the amazing Xreal reddit for randomly mentioning this in a post.

      In addition to this, when in this HDMI audio mode. You can hold the power button for about seconds (on the xreal airs) To turn the brightness buttons into volume control buttons.

      Thank you for this useful information. The cable I bought with the HDMI and USB on one end does supply audio. The USB supplies the power and audio to the glasses.

    Works! Able to charge and do Nreal simultaneously. Only 1 drawback: If you have your Citra emu set up to play 3DS games in 3D, it won't work. The 3D (side by side) effect only works when the glasses are plugged directly into the deck. Must have something to do with the HDMI to C conversion, other than that, this is amazing! Thanks !

    Nreal had potential, but the fact that they don't want to address the something as basic as charging while using the glasses is very diappointing. The best they can do is put out a $120 box is ridiculous.
    I'm saving my money for Oculus 3.

    Defintiely gonna buy this right now until they just make one with two usb c ports lol
    also to answer your question, it will cut power to the ssd if it’s connected when that happens. I had the same usb c hub and was just gonna buy a cheap m2 and load windows on it, just leaving the hub plugged in but if you connect or disconnect the cable it’ll power cycle so it wasn’t viable.

    Hi! I have SteamDEck and buying Xreal Air 2 Pro for it. Its main problem cannpt power/charge while using the glasses as only one usbc port for charge or connect stuff... There are various expensive muds like RedMagic dock etc to solve it but with a cable mess.
    I am building lithium packs for drones and electric motorcycles so have some soldering skills.
    I have a plan to solder to the 2 main +- cables of the Sd battery and make a small DC 2pin pug to one side.
    That way I could give power to the battery leads directly which is as a 2S battery around 8.4V (it is written as higher voltage cells so 8.8V is the max, but I can measure vilt voltmeter at 90% charge level if it is 8.8V I can set a stepdown to 8.8V for example.)
    And I could power it from 12V battery/adapter using stepdown dc-dc module setup for the battery voltage to keep (8-8V for example)....
    What do you think?

    • @MyCoolStrawSir
      @MyCoolStrawSir  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You know I couldn't find anything about anyone adding a second charge port to it. It's kind of dumb that a second one specifically for charging was not added. I can't solder and don't have a lot time to learn but if you can make a video about adding a second one. I'd be happy to learn and try it out.
      IDK if it would be feasible to put it on the bottom. Will the the steam deck know its being charged? I have the Steam Deck OLED now. It's much better than the LED one

      @@MyCoolStrawSir with AR glasses lcd or oled not that important as it will have oled in the virtul screen.
      Not sure of the best place for extra battery lead port, maybe not bottom as need to put on stand. will check best place.

    I have both Viture and nReal air and can confirm the USB C to glasses and charging Adapter from Viture will work with nReal Air. The Mobile DOCK for Viture unfortunately does not work for nReal Air. And the iphone adapter from
    nReal does not work for Viture.

  • @BlackSilence001

    just use the Viture's USB-C TO GLASSES AND CHARGING ADAPTER if you dont need a mouse and keyboard.

    • @MyCoolStrawSir
      @MyCoolStrawSir  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I like my option better because it is cheap and easy to use. Looking at that Adaptor (Im assuming the mobile adaptor), paried with the steam deck mount would look better.
      I how ever do not think the mount is compatable with the KillSwitch Case. If there are 3D printer files that adapt or change the mount to work with the case. That would be perfect. I do normally use a bluetuth mouse and keyboard.

    Got the larger wavlink dock and cable linked in the info. Works with sound but my video seems to be un-aligned. The top of the screen (in the glasses) is repeated below the display in a strip like a reflection but not inverted.. like the vsync is off or something.. still playable and charges but kinda weird l. Maybe I should try another cable.

    • @MyCoolStrawSir
      @MyCoolStrawSir  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try a different hdmi adaptor. Both the Walmart one and the wavlink worked fine, if that doesn't work the cable probably needs replacing.

    How big is the screen inside the nreal in your personnal experience using it with steam or windows 11 laptop?

    • @MyCoolStrawSir
      @MyCoolStrawSir  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is looks like a 120 inche TV in front of you.
      Using it both with Holo OS and windows OS, is pretty darn good. It's not true AR since it is just a giant floating screen. You will need to get used to not moving your head to look at different parts of the screen.

    i hate that we have to Frankenstein stuff like this just because companies always seem to think one type c port is enough.
    one type c port for charging only, and one high spec type c for everything else... that should be the standard for high end devices, laptops, and game systems.

    • @MyCoolStrawSir
      @MyCoolStrawSir  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that was a complaint a lot of youtubers I watch have said.
      Hopefully steamdeck 2 has USB 4 and a separate charging port. If I could hook up an external GPU to this, it would be perfect.

    • @signe_stilett
      @signe_stilett ปีที่แล้ว

      Imo, 2x general purpose type C and mini HDMI would be a great set of ports. You can still use docks but I had issues with displays' audio that way, so a Mini-HDMI to full size HDMI would be THE solution for usage as portable plug-in console. Would want it to ship with Type C to Type A as well, lots of people have peripherals and USB-A hubs still
      Unsure how would use of Micro HDMI affect the display bottleneck. Probably wise to look at Display Port if Valve want to push for even more power (Which is funny to me, Steam Deck replaced my old laptop)
