      Almost every solution I have found was Thunderbolt 4. This is the first actual USB 4 solutiion I foumd. In fact,I think it's the first USB 4 hub to come out. I alao think that's why it cheaper and why it can be powered by usnc power delivery. Likely we should see cheaper one's come out by other manufacturers.

      @@justinspirational Thanks for the video. I've been aware of that for a while, but it's only available for order from China and ordering from China to the US can be problematic, so some people like to have more options. Theres also some added benefits to using a hub such as the ability to plug in additional peripherals at the same time.

    Forgive me if I missed something here, but why not just use the Rokfin Mini Hub?
    It is literally designed to plug into your phone and lets you have a power source and AR glasses at the same time.
    It is much smaller and cheaper than this approach. No extra cables either.

    • @allinvr
      @allinvr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both the HDMI and Displayport are outputs only. There are two usbc ports. One is usbc power delivery in which supplies power to the usb 4 hub/dock itself and the host device that the usbc male plug goes into. The other usbc port can connect to a usbc display device or any usbc accesaory you nay have.

    Hi I found your video searching for a way to have the glass be used on or with HDMI devices but stay "powered" indefinitely. Is the HDMI port on this hub bi-directional?
    2 ways I'm thinking 🤔
    HDMI plugged into this, feeding into either the "Main" USBC cable attached to it or feeding the HDMI signal to the TB4 passthrough USBC port that you have the glasses attached to?
    I've been trying to find a way to have the glasses be fed from in HDMI "hub" of sorts so I can have like let's say my PC on HDMI 1 then my Nintendo switch on HDMI 2 and then just be able to have the glasses be powered and used indefinitely.
    My next idea was trying something like a USBC TO HDMI cord that allows for separate power but I don't know if those type of cords are bi-directional HDMI cords. Most of those cords are meant to plug into a phone and put the picture on a TV not take an HDMI signal and pass it through USBC.. I don't know if you would be able to test this but if you do you would be helping me out so much man..

    • @allinvr

      I've paid for everything I have reviewed on my channel this far. I have the nreal light which are ar glasses. I write software for the nreal light glasses and Quest VR headset. For my needs and for some others using a wireless battery bank isn't a very good option. First because you use the phone as a controller and having a wireless batter bank attached to the phone adds too much weight and is a clunky solution if you are doing a lot of AR stuff on the glasses. Second, while wireless charging is probably fine if all you are doing is watching videos or mirroring your phone screen, once you start using all of the advanced AR features and sensors I find that wireless charging won't charge the phone faster than it will drain and I get maybe a few more hours out of it. Being able to keep everything in my pocket or a fanny pack with just a single USB cable to my phone works extreamely well for me. I know I am not the only one looking at various wired solutions. So I'm sorry if you found this review a waste of time, but not everyone would agree with that opinion.
