I feel like Troye has had a steady increase in quality with each project (even if each still have some notable quirks he still needs to get though). His latest EP is really neat, worth checking out-but beware it’s definitely a breakup record and will make you sad.
I'm not sure I completely agree... you're obviously entitled to you're own opinion but I preferred Blue Neighbourhood to Bloom. I felt like the songs were almost like he wasn't really sure what he was doing so he was just following his gut whereas with Bloom it felt like he was intentionally writing pop songs and it felt like the songs were more about the music than the actual meaning of the song. Maybe it's just because I personally prefer sad songs which Blue Neighbourhood was filled with while Bloom was more happy songs, which is great because it meant that Troye was in a good place. I don't have a problem with happy songs but Bloom just felt more like he was aiming to be a pop singer and not just doing what felt right which is how I felt about Blue Neigbourhood. I do agree that the EP is incredible though, I love how each song tells its own story but at the same time they all tell a continuous and ongoing story.
fun fact that "Animal" is a song for his boyfriend Jacob Bixenman, and u can even hear Jacob's laugh on the track... sadly tho they recently broke up this year :(((((((((((((((

I was living in Tokyo when this album came out, and my boyfriend (who was in Brazil) broke up with me. So yeah Postcard was made for me. Overall I love this album, it really helped me go through some hard things back then.
I have been obsessed with this album for so long and seeing you listen to it for the first time makes me wanna listen to it again for the first time and go through the roller coaster of emotions ukwim

This EP and Zella Day’s Where Does The Devil Hide were my summer jams and probably my favourite albums in this year.
