Lorde didn’t want to write the album with the themes of what was out at the time and so she pulled inspiration from the past.

It’s been 3 years and I still love this album like it was released yesterday, it’s just so beautiful and nostalgic and Lorde just hits you in a place no other artist can

Is it a coincidence or sth?🤣I just listened to this album recently as well! I was totally blown away by it and crying over this masterpiece. The way she represents those lyrics makes me so emotional! I was so mad at myself not listening to this album in 2017 but I’m also glad that I finally reach it in 2020.

This album defined 2017 for me. I have such INTENSE nostalgic ties to Melodrama, it’s unreal! Listening to any of the songs sends me into an emotional spiral. I’m so glad you got to finally experience it!!!

I love this album so much. It was definitely the best 2017 album. Should have gotten the Grammy (Scammy). I'm glad you reacted to it, better late than never ❤️❤️❤️
This is definitely an album you get more out of the more you listen to it. You start to notice certain details with how all these songs are connected. For instance, at the start of the album in Sober Lorde sings, “I’ll pretend I don’t see every *ribbon* you use to tie yourself to me.” Then towards the end of the album in Supercut, Lorde sings, “In my head, these visions never stop, these *ribbons* wrap me up.” She built this entire album on a slew of connected experiences and you start to have this movie play out in your head the more you listen to it. It’s a phenomenal album and I’m jealous that you get to experience it for the first time.

The fact this album was overlooked and didn’t win ONE Grammy makes me think that everyone in 2017 was blind not to see the beauty of this album and DEAF to not hear the beauty of this album. Not even lying, this album was and STILL IS by far the best full album I have ever heard. JUST surpassed Lady Gaga, Chromatica and don’t smile at me, Billie Eilish. Truly a 🔥 👌 *chefs kiss*.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE :D! I love this album and still listen to it since its release!
The first song I heard from Lorde was Royals on 2013. But the first song that stole my heart and made me listen her music was in April, 2018 when I watched a video of her performing Liability on a concert in Poland and she gave her speech of how she wrote that song, telling us we are not too much for everyone and fuck em. This was specially because I felt connected with the meaning of Melodrama and I felt like a burden sometimes, that made me identify with the lyrics in Melodrama. Lorde made the soundtrack of my whole teenage years in High School. Pure Heroine came when I was on 7th Grade and Melodrama when I was on 11th Grade. Even If I really like Liability, my fave Lorde song is Supercut and that song explains why is my favorite by itself. In Pure Heroine my faves are Team, Ribs, Still Sane, No Better, A World Alone & Tennis Court.
