Dear Jess, your videos have tears running down my cheeks everytime I watch them. YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL! I took care of my mother 24 hours, seven days a week for 8 1/2 years. No one knows the love you will see until you take on job of caregiver! I made her favorite meals even if she wanted chocolate pudding for dinner with whipped cream. When it came time to bathe her, the nurse and I would work as a team. To calm her anxiety we would start off with a "pretty girl" facial with her favorite Ponds cold cream. We would manicure her nails to prevent her from scratching herself but make them look "pretty". The greatest thing was everytime I would change the linens or make her comfortable she would always say thank you, and to this day I don't know why...SHE WAS MY MOM! The most touching was on two occasions she wanted to hold hands and she looked up and repeatedly said" do you know how much I love you!" and the only way to stop was to tell her the same and give her a big kiss. Jess, please keep doing what you are doing as the reward will be something not a lot of people will ever get to experience and live! YOU ARE AMAZING!
Your Nan is so lucky to have you. There’s not many people come to see their own grandparents its so sad. I wish my mamaw was still here. Your such a great grandchild ❤
Trust me, your dear Nan is indeed talking to her relatives in the afterlife. As her mind leaves this world, the vail between our world and the afterlife becomes thinner and thinner as she edges towards the end of her life. Her relatives will help her cross over when her time comes. Thank you all you do on your amazing channel. Sending love to you and your beautiful Nan ❤ 🫂
what a beautiful story of your nans life! not everyone gets such detail of their family matriarch, Your Nan is beautiful and I love when you visit her. keep telling her story and we are lucky to have the technology that we have today so that we can share such stories as your about your Nan and to share with future generations. It has inspired me to do the same for my grand/great grands! Not to mention the sharing of her dementia, I think a lot of folks aren't aware of this illness and how it affects family! Keep loving her up!
Fantastic video. My grandparents (as is my mum) are from the UK, Poynton and Stockport, they immigrated to Australia in the 50's. Ive been fortunate to go to the UK a few times and visit my extended family, and i had the pleasure of visiting Chesterfield in 2007. I was taken there to see the crooked spiral at Chesterfield parish church and had a lovely day walking around this beautiful town, I have very fond memories. My grandad later in life started diary writing, and I have about 15 years' worth of his and my nans day to day life, which I get out often and read. My grandad developed dementia in his 70;s and you can see in his diaries when things were starting to decline as his handwriting became shaky, and the entries became less and less, till one day he just stopped. My grandparents have been gone for a considerable time now, but I think of them every day and miss them every day; they were a wonderful influence in my life.
Your Nan lived a beautiful life. You and your family have been so fortunate to have spent so many wonderful, fun, and loving times with your Nan. Continue to do what you're doing and bring joy to others hearts.
I love that your nan had a loving family. Many in her generation had such difficult lives devoid of love. Living through WW2 could not have been easy. Your grandparents' love story was beautiful. Everyone should experience that kind of love :).
Oh I truly cannot even imagine how tough it was, going through that timeline. 💔 The WW2 is definitely something that I wish Nan wrote about in her book… because that would’ve been incredible to hear about now. Agree! Their love was so pure and wholesome, everyone deserves that! 🤍
Hi Jess..half a crown would be two shillings and sixpence…now that’s just 12 and a half pence! We used to feel we were rich if given one at Christmas ! You mentioned the old three Penny bit…but that would be in old pre decimal money , so d pence not p pence if you follow me. It’s brilliant that your Nan had started her life story…it’s a shame dementia set in before she could finish it. But your recording talks with Nan is gaining living knowledge so a second half of the story. I agree with another reader who mentioned that Nan is talking to family in spirit, and I endorse that as I have had experience like that After losing my son to cancer aged 39. So I really understand what your grandparents went through. Keep up this good work Jess as I feel your the reason your Nan is still here,,,you keep her going and you can see how much she loves you and you love her…such a very special relationship bless you both. Love to your Nan, and to you! Godbless sweetheart! 👩🦳💐💕 😘😘👏👏👏👏👏🫶🙏🙏💕❤️❤️💫XXXXXXXX
I think so many people have different views & opinions on this field… the afterlife. However, we’ve had so many experiences of Nan speaking with those that have passed… that it seems to just make sense. ❤
Thank you for letting us know a lot about your lovely Nan and showing us the pure face of dementia. You are a wonderful granddaughter and an incredible woman and singer. God bless you and your love ones 🙏🏽💟🙏🏽
Hi Jess, how refreshing to have a young person have such interest in the older generation. Someone said once," the older lady is still that little girl going through life, her story, her journey. Still figuring life out". That hit a chord with me. Your grandmother's story is very special. Everyone has a special, individual, unique story. I still do things my grandmother taught me. Im 61 and a grandmother. Even today i ordered a Project for my grandchildren my grandmother had. I think " half a crown". Was 50p I had cousins raised in Liverpool. We used to mock how they pronounced " Trebor " We say it differently. ❤
Wow, that quote is SO powerful! Thank you so much for sharing that! Oooh, I'd love to know how you said 'Trebor'... I'll share this with Nan, she'll love it!
What a breath of fresh air you are. An absolute beautiful person you are with such a beautiful way you are with your nan. The love you and your nan have is absolutely precious. Ive just lost my mum and my girls were just the same with her as you are with your nan. i love watching you with your nan she's just so lovely and its easy to see just how she was before becoming ill. She just seems so chilled and not worried thats a lovely thing to watch. And you are amazing with her. Im sending so much love to you and your nan your both so lovely.❤
I love watching your little snippets with you and your nan. It shows the beautiful connection you have. My aunt, born in 1930, was diagnosed with dementia about 4 5 years ago. She was a beautiful lady. She also lost her eldest child to cancer. My aunt always loved her baby brother (my dad), going to see her and talking of old times growing up in South Manchester. All the old memories of growing were clear as if it were yesterday. I feel we were lucky in the fact that even though she didn't recognise you at first. The minute you said your name, she knew who you were. i feel that's a blessing with someone who has dementia. I did spend a lot of time with her growing up with beautiful memories, so maybe that helped. Sadly, we lost her at the age of 93 earlier this year. So i relate to this video, which pulls at my heart srings. Thank you ❤
Thank you sweet Jess for sharing her life with us. You told it so beautifully, not only through her eyes, but yours as well. She’d be so proud of you ,and what you are doing for her, by sharing the treasured memories of her life she knew too soon Dementia would steal from her. 💗🙏
I cant explain the feeling I get from your videos, all of your videos are so deep and just perfect❤️ It must be a pleasure to have you as a family member. Even if ur grandma cant show it every day I know she loves you❤❤❤ U are like a Idol to me
Listen pal your channel is different class. Im a 38yo guy from Glasgow and im forever watchin you and your wee nan. She reminds me so much of ma gran. Wish yous nothing but the very best. Your a credit to your wee nan ❤x
Hi Jess, I just came across your channel. My mum used to work in the Trebor factory in Chesterfield and was on the mint section, she would have been 82 now, unfortunately she passed away 20 years ago. My Dad recently passed away and I cared for him, so I know what it’s like to watch the ones you love deteriorate. You are doing a great job taking care of your Nan, you should be proud of yourself.
Love listening to you talking about your nan she,s a darling and your such a lovely loving granddaughter i my self are so close to all my gran. and Greatgrandchildren i love them to bit and they all return that love please give your nan a BIG HUG bless you both ❤️❤❤❤️
Thank you for sharing, your nan is the salt of the earth,a beautiful, caring woman and you inhereted all of that from her.For some reason she reminds me of my dear mother, whom I lost last year to Lung cancer at only 65,she too was so special like your nan,a little Geordie with a heart of pure Gold.Yours nans writing is identical to her writing. The day before my mothers passed away she became so alive and happy and was having full on conversations with her already departed sister.I truly believe theres a Heaven and that the moment she passed she was with Jesus and her family.Brings great comfort.Sending all my love to you and your nan,you are my favorite youtubers by far ❤❤
I remember having no bathroom, just an outside toilet and tin bath, the bathroom was put in when I was about 7 and then the tin bath became our paddling pool on hot summer days
Jess it’s so nice of you to tell us your Nan’s life’s journey so far, dementia is a horrible illness I’m in my 70’s and my mom and sister had it, Im happy that on good days she remembers that your her Jess love it Two Beautiful Souls ❤️🥰
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Nan’s story. You can see the love in you when you visit her in whatever mood she is at the time. What a caring lovely grandchild you are. Love to you both.❤️
@@Little_Jessx no thank you again. I know a lot of people are experiencing this terrible disease. My father-in-law was in denial, he was 72 and taking care of my mother-in-law at home by himself. We didn't know, all the times he had to go looking for her because she left the house and was wondering about the streets. Once he couldn't find her, he got home and heard her down in the laundry room (in her birthday suit) doing laundry. Well we had a birthday party at their house, it all came out. So my sister-in-laws and I each took 1-2 days a week to take care of both of them. Mom would also talk to her grandmother, mother, and 2 daughters who had passed. I noticed she wasn't talking well, I called my sister-in-laws, told them we need to fix her dentures. Their reply "mom has dentures" lol We decided to keep them out, it was more comfortable for her. I remember one night sleeping in the spare room, I could heard her talking again, AND THEN IT HAPPENED! her language changed! I didn't even know she knew some of those words! She was a Christian woman through and through, so you can imagine my surprise! Well, that's a little of my story. So I do know what you're going through, and it is so special for you to share your journey. Thank you
What a beautiful story. I got quite emotional when you spoke of how your grandparents met and their lives. When i think back to my childhood times were so much better than they are now. People have changed so much. One of my favourite memories is staying at my nans cottage in Wiltshire in the summer holidays, so much nature and beautiful animals around. My nans parents brought up 6 children in the 2 bedroom cottage. Thank you so much for your videos, dementia is such a cruel disease. Your nan is a wonderful lady ❤🙏 xx
@@11craftycats Thank you so much, my grandparents always make me so emotional… and the life they lived. I so wish I was alive during their generation, to experience that lifetime. Oh that’s such a wonderful memory for you to have. It’s crazy how many children were in one bedroom back in the past! 🤯🤍
Wow, you can really see your resemblance to your Nan when she was young. What a beautiful family you are, so close and loving, bless your beautiful Nan and you for being an angel granddaughter❤
Both, you look so like her when she was young and you have definitely inherited her loving nature, she must feel so loved in a very confusing time, bless you both❤
A lovely romantic story, it's sooooo nice to see your Nan in her younger years, and that she found Love ❤ with your Grandad. You told the story Beautifully, and I'm sure your Nan and Grandad would be Soooooo very proud of you and themselves after watching this video (if they could have) ❤
I think the saddest part about life is... eventually... 5 decades down the line... life will eventually be forgotten and it'll be left to one person eventually to do a family tree and figure out everything without any answers. I also believe that type of love and relationship dies with our grand parents. . In society th3se days there just isn't the same sort of relationship or thing
This is another reason to why social media, and documenting life this was is so special. I hope one day, someone in our future family generation will find this exact video ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks For Bringing Nans Story Off Her Life, Sounds Like Such An Amazing Woman, You're Amazing To. My Grandmother, Was Such A Cool Lady ,I Will Never Forget Her Lovely Personality, Her Laugh Was So Infectious, Something I Miss More Than Anything, My Love To You Both.
I used to get half a crown pocket money when i was 14 lol. Trebor mints are still around Jess i bought some this week. So glad your nan wrote down so.e of her life story, its important to know where you came from. It sounds like she had a good life until health problems bless her❤❤
Dear ,precious Jessica, thank you so very much for sharing with us your Nana's beautiful life story. She is so blessed to have you as granddaughter, and you are so blessed to have her for your precious Nana. God Bless you both. P.S. I look forward to hearing your part of the story you write about your precious, lovely Nana.😊
Jessica you are so loving your love to Nan is a Beautiful that I think everyone has fell in love with, I think about you both every day, your family too ,my family is going though similar times, I think what you do is amazing, to show how hard these illnesses are, God Bless you ,Nan and family and all who are dealing with this sad ,emotional problem love and hugs to Nana, you and All❤
What a wonderful and sad and lucky and senceful story 🥹🥹🫶. Thank you for sharing it to us 🥰🥰. You're really an angel and your grandma is so loveley ❤❤. God bless you both and the rest of your family 🫠💝.
This touched my heart. I'm also a Jess. My nana was also writing her life story until she got dementia. When I hear your nan say 'jessica' it brings back so many memories. The other part of your videos that touches my heart is when she sings 'you are my sunshine' or other nan used to sing that to me. I read my Nana's life story after she died in 2022. She got up to when my mum was born. It is my favourite thing to read. my nana would often speak to her sister and parents (all passed) when her dementia kicked in and also became obsessed with us grandkids being pregnant (I already had my kids by then). The last time my sister saw my nana she whispered in her ear that she was pregnant (before anyone knew). I know you do but treasure every second with her, I miss mine so so much. My grandad was her world, 9 months after she passed we took my new niece to meet him. He died 2 weeks later. Keep going with your vids they touch so many of our hearts, so thankyou x
Jess what a lovely idea to continue your nan’s story, such a privilege for you. Thank you for sharing her story ❤ Continue your chats, your laughter and your special moments with your nan. My mum passed away two years ago and she too had dementia. My mum shared so many memories with me and also, thinking back, she would talk to people who had since passed away. She loved to talk about her mum and dad (my grandparents) which upset her at times, but I would quickly change the conversation to “ oh mum how lucky were we to have such a lovely Nan, do you remember the time…” then talk about something funny we all did with nan. It was easy to divert the conversation and soon my mum would be laughing again. She also spoke about her school and always said she wanted to go home (although she was still living in her own house). She wanted to go back to the house she grew up in and would tell me the address so I could take her. I have so many happy memories and obviously sad ones too. But at the end of the day, for all my mum was in her own world and confused, her spirit still shone through the confusion…her sense of humour and her gentleness. Carry on Jess ❤love to you and your family and of course, especially to your nan 😊
@@Lynne-ly6bh wow thank you so much for sharing this comment, I truly felt so many emotions reading that. That feels very close to our hearts too… with Nan asking to return back to her home, but not the home that we knew 🥺. Dementia is definitely very heartbreaking, and I don’t think I’ll ever get over this period of our lives together. But, these memories will be special to cherish 🩷
@@Little_Jessx They will be special and one day when you look back on these days, you’ll be able to smile and think of the special moments you had together. I took lots of pictures of my mum and lots of videos of her singing and chatting. Even pictures when she was ironing, she loved to iron and she would sing away while she was doing it. Love to your family ❤️
A lovely story, times were certainly different then with different values. We didn’t ask for much as there wasn’t much to have but you had to make the very best of what you had, what a very happy loving time you’ve had together.
I am humbled you shared this, lovely story your Nan is an inspiration, the glue that holds your family together even with dementia, a lovely genuine woman with a loving family....god bless you Jean x
Jess that was so beautiful and you read it with so much pride, you are obviously a very loving family. Your nan is a beautiful person, and you are so wonderful with your nan. Thank you for sharing your nans life story lwith us.x
I love old peoples story’s of their lives, I’m 49 but it takes me back to my grandparents and great grandparents. I have all sorts of bits in my home that were my grandmas and my great uncle that was grandads brother died in the war age 23 we still have his letters he sent home.
You and your grandma are so sweet. I love they way you talk with her and her politenees to you..I video I cried alot it touched my heart, and I thought about my grandma.. Keep up the good work. God bless you and grandma. ❤❤❤❤
Trebor was the main factory for people to work in Chesterfield back in the day, the Bradbury club was where everyone went to the dance, I'm Chesterfield born and 53 yrs of age, Chesterfield and surrounding areas such as Whittington, Brimington, staveley and were all mining communities, but they wernt horrible areas they are like places today, some good people and not so good people in them, my parents and grandparents were born in Chesterfirld and we share very simular memories of the Bradbury hall dance, and sharing baths etc, I still live in Chesterfield today and recognised your nans accent immediately ❤
Wow. Thank you so much for sharing this insightful information… I’m definitely so interested in the past that my Nan had. Whittington and Staveley are all places that she’s spoken about before. 🥺🧡 I would truly love to revisit them, as an adult ❤
Jess- Watching your videos is personal to me because like your Nan to you I was very close with my mom's mother and I spent a lot of my time with my Nan as a child and she passed away years ago and i miss her so much all the time. We were very close. I wish your Nan good health and wish you all the Happiness spending time with her.
I can't watch this but I just wanted to say. I feel like I now know her form your videos. I'm so sorry that you are all going through this but Jess. You are a credit to her❤️
Thank u 4 sharing this wonderful life story, of your nan & grandad. I Used 2 love hearing my nans stories,& I too used to ask her over again to tell me them, & watch her beautiful eyes light up. You're such a beautiful soul. I do hope u have lots of love & support too. ❤x
Great work Jess, I love hearing stories about the older days and just how hard things really were even though many didn’t think so at the time. I had lost all my grandparents by the time I was 33 and I regret so much not learning more about them and asking more questions. I know it’s easy to say in hindsight but please try to learn as much as you can about your family as soon as you can because so many people WILL regret not doing so and once a person has gone, so have all the memories and information they once held so dear. The only “positive” I can put on this is that I lost the people I knew and not a shell they represented. I hope people understand what I mean.
Keep on doing what you are doing. Its just right. Very difficult for you of course, but she's still your nan and hopefully somewhere inside she knows you are there. You are still making lovely memories ❤
Half a crown was two shillings and sixpence or 30 pence. We left N. Ireland when that was still the money. I can’t tell the value in todays money. I worked in a photo processing place during school holidays at fourteen. I got two pound two and six. My mammy gave me the two and six out of my wages which was 30 pence. I was delighted with that. We were saving to go to America. The money changed after we left. I wrote and published memoir in my sixties called AND SO I DID. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos so much and especially liked hearing about your Grandma’s life from you recently. You were a truly loving and caring granddaughter.🩷
What a beautiful story Jess I live in chesterfield and some off the places you mentioned I know , the Trebor sweet factory was demolished years ago and also the Bradbury hall was also demolished about 10 years ago I also went there when it turned into a nightclub, you have such beautiful memories to look back on I love watching your videos and love watching you and your Nan together, keep doing the beautiful videos looking forward to the next one sending my love ❤️❤️,my name is Beverley xx
Oh wow, hello to Chesterfield! Thank you for your comment! I thought the Trebor factory may have been demolished now... but crazy to know how long it was up and running for. I couldn't find much online about Bradbury Hall, so I am understanding it was very much a nightclub after the 'dance' days were over! Thank you so much!
O... Thank you to Jess, sharing this vedeo is awesome the one and only story between Granddaughter and Grandma. Go on doing this fir us something to watch sensibly. Cute, fun, and important to remember our oldies life before us. Go on Jess.

My Dad recently passed away and I cared for him, so I know what it’s like to watch the ones you love deteriorate. You are doing a great job taking care of your Nan, you should be proud of yourself.
Oh wow! What a small world we truly live in, thank you for joining!
So sorry to hear about your Dad, sending you all the love & strength ♥️
❤ You are such a lovely, caring granddaughter, you’re both so lucky to have each other. God Bless You 💐
Love listening to you talking about your nan she,s a darling and your such a lovely loving granddaughter i my self are so close to all my gran. and Greatgrandchildren i love them to bit
and they all return that love please give your nan a BIG HUG bless you both ❤️❤❤❤️
Thank you for sharing, your nan is the salt of the earth,a beautiful, caring woman and you inhereted all of that from her.For some reason she reminds me of my dear mother, whom I lost last year to Lung cancer at only 65,she too was so special like your nan,a little Geordie with a heart of pure Gold.Yours nans writing is identical to her writing.
This chocked me up especially the end and her poem to your grandad 😢wow.... well done for telling her stories xx
Thank you so much!
I remember having no bathroom, just an outside toilet and tin bath, the bathroom was put in when I was about 7 and then the tin bath became our paddling pool on hot summer days
The tin bath is just crazy to me.. but loved hearing all about it!!!
What an amazing lady. She is so gifted having such a caring, kind, understanding granddaughter. You really are a beautiful soul. Bless you. ❤
Thank you, I really appreciate your lovely comment ❤

Thank you so much!❤
@@Little_Jessx no thank you again.
Their reply "mom has dentures" lol
We decided to keep them out, it was more comfortable for her.
@@Little_Jessx I agree with you, they had some hard times but it seems most were happier back then.
You're a very special granddaughter ❤❤💞
You are such a lovely girl your Nan did a really great job helping to raise you❤
Aww how lovely you're a lovely girl n you're nan is beautiful bless her xxx
❤ you are the sweetest granddaughter that anyone could ever have you are so precious❤
Honestly thank you so much; it really means a lot ❤
Wow, you can really see your resemblance to your Nan when she was young. What a beautiful family you are, so close and loving, bless your beautiful Nan and you for being an angel granddaughter❤
Ahh you think so? Resemblance as in looks, or our personalities? ❤
Both, you look so like her when she was young and you have definitely inherited her loving nature, she must feel so loved in a very confusing time, bless you both❤
Moving, touching and shows unconditional love shining brighter
A lovely romantic story, it's sooooo nice to see your Nan in her younger years, and that she found Love ❤ with your Grandad.
You told the story Beautifully, and I'm sure your Nan and Grandad would be Soooooo very proud of you and themselves after watching this video
(if they could have) ❤
Such a lovely ßtory of a lovely lady told by her lovely granddaughter Thank you for sharing this.
Aww thank you, and thank you so much for listening ❤
Beautiful grandmother and granddaughter
Thank you for sharing. Life stories are tremendously helpful, for those nursing and caring for people like your Nan x
Omg yes your story needs to be told...I would love to hear it as I went thru the same thing😢❤
I would love to share the second part of Nan's life story... the one where she was diagnosed with Dementia!

Beautiful well done Jess

I would truly love to revisit them, as an adult ❤
I'm in the US and had to google a 2 up and 2 down house. 4 rooms total. Your nan is just a darling lady.

Thank u 4 sharing this wonderful life story, of your nan & grandad. I Used 2 love hearing my nans stories,& I too used to ask her over again to tell me them, & watch her beautiful eyes light up. You're such a beautiful soul. I do hope u have lots of love & support too. ❤x
That brought tears to my eyes
@@deboraharris1122 Thank you so much for this! 🩷
Absolutely love your videos, you are such an amazing and beautiful person ❤

It's lovely to hear your Nans story, loving it Luv from the UK 🇬🇧
