Map Of The Soul: 7 is an absolute masterpiece which deserves so much more critical recognition than it got. It should really be heard in order to be enjoyed fully for the journey through Jung's theory. 💜
Earlier this month Rolling Stone named Map of the Soul: 7, as the 25th Best Concept Album of all time. I thought that was pretty cool.

I wish all BTS' music got the recognition they deserve. I've seen crap western albums get mad recognition and it's just a bunch of noise😐 I no longer buy HEHE
I love Shadow. The triology Persona Ego and Shadow songs are genius. And Shadow seems almost 3 songs in one. 💜
The shadow, person and Ego are part of each one of us. I don't know much about Jung's psychological theory, but I know that within us there are these shadows that we must learn to accept and integrate... a psychologist can better explain this. I love this song.

Interestingly now adays suga is not someone I worry about mental health wise. Suga is so open to embracing his internal issues that he can move past it. Some of the other members have spent so long pushing it back to look perfect that they don't seem as good.. RM is one I really worry for 🥺
When the song shifts to the darker grungier sound and then red tones come in I think it is now Suga's shadow that is singing -- basically telling Suga that he can never escape his shadow. Oof.
I worry for Suga too. I live for those moments when the others hug him and make him smile.
When his voice changes and gets distorted because the Shadow takes control and speaks.
I had tickets for the concert in the US and then COVID hit. I was so sad to not be able to go. Love all their stuff but this would have been such an amazing concert and experience 😞
Hi there big brain Jim, this album, I did say is THE at album! A rarity,I would say, critically acclaimed and commercially successful! Choosing a favourite song is almost impossible, but just for the emotions it generates, I would go for We are bulletproof, Eternal. Enjoy the ride!
Persona is the mask that we show the world (the part of us that we WANT others to see). The Shadow is the hidden parts of us that are not so socially accepted, the "bad" parts of us that we don't want others to see. The Ego is the combination of both. After we recognize and accept the Shadow parts that we might be ashamed of or dislike/hate, then we can fully understand ourselves.
Map of the Soul 7 is one of the best albums I've ever heard,
MOTS 7, in first day sales, sold 2.18M copies in South Korea in approx 2 hours.
MOTS 7 hit #1 in over 20 countries, and was the #1 selling album in the world in 2020
Rollingstone just put this album at # 25 of the 50 top concept albums of all time

I had tickets for this concert...:(. There was no way I was going to miss them in LA.
There is a reason this album was the best selling physical album of tge year. A masterpiece that deserved more critical acclaim and should have won a Grammy. This was not the first song on the album.
BTS had a sold out US Map of the Soul stadium tour in 16 cities but it never happened because of Covid.
