I remembered when this song was released, translator armys on twitter are losing their minds. they usually translate almost real time, but when this song dropped, they said they need more time because there's soooo much wordplay and cultural references in the song. they apologized for the delay and they showed pictures of their notes and everyone was curious about it and at the same time screaming about namjoon's moans and stutters. so yeah, it was a wild day.
Small cards are easier to carry. This type of cards are quite common in SK especially in the countryside among elders. They can just pull out a pack of card out of their pocket and play it after they finish the farm work.
Loved this reaction, hope you do not suffer from post traumatic tiny card syndrome lol. This is one of my favorites from the rap line, letting the vocal line rap is great to see. "In the beginning" BTS was a hip hop group and JK rapped in all their earlier songs. Tae has been dying to rap for years and it makes me smile to see him get his wish. Jimin has also rapped in another song, "Tony Montana" I think is the name of it. Jin can spit words faster than than I ever imagined. In one of the Run episodes he raps the entire song of "Loner" and it is beyond satisfying.
You are only looking at the Korean traditional game called Wha Tu from your point of view as a westerner. We don't even call it cards but nothing comparable, substitute or translate into English so we simply call it a card game in English. Koreans can also question "Why the western game (so called cards) so big in size? It's so funny why you people think your things are normal and other parts of world's things are weird if things are different than yours. Not everything evolves around you people. The Korean Wha Tu game's been existed way before you guys ever made cards. Also one can hold many Wha Tu and spread to see all at once in one hand easily because of the size. China also has a game called Ma Jjang (that's what Koreans call their game) which uses small and rectangular shaped blocks. Koreans don't think or ask why they don't use something similar to what we use. BTS are Koreans and making music that has a lot of Korean references which Koreans understand easily and that should be natural. They don't always have to make their songs gear towards other country listeners. Good to hear an opinion but that was ignorant and narrow minded comments I am hearing!
Great comment. You said exactly what I was thinking. I wonder why westerners always think they have to be catered to, and I am from the UK! Even without the explanation the song is still fly.💜
Appreciate the reaction. You had me howling over your concern over the small cards 🤣 . The vocal line rapping was so cool to see. We knew JK could rap well from early songs, but Tae has always wanted to rap too and I thought he did great. Thanks for reacting.
There is a reason behind why those cards were that size because people throw the cards and when you have bigger cards it does not do the perfect or correct job. It also makes unique sound when they throw and hit the other cards. If you have bigger cards it does not make the sound which only small cards can make. When you have the cards in front of you and touch it in real life it is easier for you to understand. There is always reason behind why things are the way they are.
Those cards are plasticky and not paper, hence the sound (try throwing your credit cards on top of each other but these cards are thinner than credit cards)

Because he wasn’t “wondering” about the card size. Go back to all the parts he mentioned the cards. "In this video, I learn about DDAENG from BTS. Then I go on a rant about tiny playing cards for no reason." (Comment written by Jim Games). Exactly, for no reason!! @@JimGames That's your justification for ranting about the size of the card! if you were tired or confused after 4 hrs of streaming, then just go to bed! You don't get to rant about something you know nothing about, even if it's just a game, it's still a cultural issue because it's a game from another country. It's the same as if someone criticized about a game that originated from the U.S. It's not okay to make a rude comment and then say it was a joke, then you are no better than all those haters that mocked BTS for being Korean and making fun of the language or comparing them to Covid. You are a grown man, when you make a mistake, own up to it and apologize for you behavior! Everyone makes mistakes, but how you deal with it really shows your true character. Bottom line is I’m sorry you feel I’m a hater but I will express myself anyway I see fit.
@@JimGames Some people might say what is the big deal about ranting about the cards. The big deal is that you chose to focus on the trivial thing, in this case the size of the card, and not on the song or its meaning. By doing that, you denigrated BTS, their song, their hard work, their message and the Korean culture. Instead of making your reaction an opportunity to show your viewers who may be new to BTS and new to the Korean culture. How amazing these guys are, how amazing song writers they are, and what they could learn about the Korean culture. You disrespected, belittle and laughed at all of that by ranting about the size of the card. I'm willing to accept an apology and forgive, but don't insult my culture or my intelligence and then say it was a joke!
@@klee-fung5550 lol what! Chill I’m not attacking you or BTS. I understand the guys have been through a lot and it pisses me off too. I have spent the better part of a year dedicating 4-8 hours a week learning about your culture and BTS. Everything is very well documented here on my channel.
If you really respect BTS, respect them as an artist, then you wouldn't have turn it into a mockery by obsessing about the card!

@@isa_9821 oh thanks fyi
Your perception of what card size is satisfying is so culturally biased! What is regular anyway? 😂 Ddaeng is such a witty swagger of a song! What can I say, stay confused! 🤣 and remember, JK began as a rapper…
“Regular” according to who? This song is not for the average English speakers
multiple comments here saying how funny it was that u were so hung up on the cards but personally its 100% the reason why u werent able to process the explanation vid well and honestly dragged the video down
Please use other lyric videos (if you must). Jaeguchi and Lemoring are the WORST. They have a lot if views because their videos are up within minutes after the song/video is released. But their translations are horrible. They also steal money from Hybe/Bighit.

Some of these comments are a bit rude, I loved this reaction👍❤️
