That engine looks like a monster to work on, but sometimes you have to just dig in. Good stuff!
Outstanding video. My MB C230 just went up with the P2004 code. Thanks to your video I can make an informed decision on how to proceed with repairs. Thanks again.
Great video, but you can buy those parts online, you don't need a new intake, instead of Plastic they sell the metal ones that are to never break again
In my case, I had to replace the whole unit. My vacuum actuators wouldn't hold a vacuum and I had some frayed wires going to the solenoids. I believe the parts you're referring to is an upgrade to an existing good intake to keep you from ending up like mine!
No before, but now they sell all the parts that break, the pods and rods but they are cheap on price, but better duality than original they are aftermarket
Yes, I also had that code and still had that code. I replaced the lever with the aluminum one actually took the intake off after I did the timing chain job and made sure that all the flaps worked and all the actuator vacuums were working and they did nothing was binding so I put the car back together and I still have a 2004 code. I'm thinking the whole intake. Manifold should be changed. Maybe one of the electrical solenoids doesn't work.Because all the vacuum hoses are working and actuators, hold vacuum
Yes it is best to replace the intake manifold as a new complete assembly.
hey bryan looks like they have all those plastic parts redesigned to aluminum parts from the aftermarket on ebay for far cheaper than a whole new intake. I know you don`t like aftermarket but for a car with that much age on it might be the best solution.

@@BryansGarage951 oh yours was all the way gone that sucks
What else could be wrong apart from the runners? I have fixed mine and checked manually if they work with the actuator via suction pump and all ok after the fix.. fault code comescback when I start the car.. coukd it be map or solenoid issue?
my W221 has the same code but I can see things movies when I start the engine also I replaced the intake manifold about 4 years ago it had the same issue and the actuator was not broken or anything so what could the problem be ? is it broken from the inside ?
Could you tell us which lunch version car scanner do you use?
Thanks
Thank you!
Hia Bryan, great vid, what's the scan tool you used second? Definitely a great tool? Thanx Gaf.
Great job on the video question so if their intake manifold or whatever the hell that little plastic piece of crap breaks you have to change that whole piece that you removed ?
Yep, the whole Intake Manifold!
excellent vid Sir! Thanks for sharing!
I had a p2006 code and i did exactly what you showed in your video except that I used the rebuild kit on eBay. It's a replacement metal center piece because that was broke. Now that I put them all back, I'm now getting p2004 instead of p2006. What could be the issue?
2007 c23 v6 2.5l
Check the pods
You dont have to buy a while new intake manifold. All you have to buy is an actuator replacement kit. 30 bucks on amazon. Easy fix!
It was too far gone for a patch job! Thanks for viewing!
Is this the same as p2071? Is this the actual runner on the inside stuck closed? My e500 has this code feels like a 4 cylinder instead of 8
I hear plastic welding is a new thing. Can these parts be welded together
Plastic welding is not a new thing I've been Plastic welding for years. No the best repair is a replacement!
2007 Mercedes C280 changed my flap valve car runs good but still get a p2004 code everything moves smoothly by hand before i reinstalled the intake also get a p0012 code thanks for any help!
Problem with the actuator itself most likely. That's why I recommend to replace the whole intake and be done with it!
Any special tools required, does the fuel injection system need to be recharged etc
No special tools required!
Smh should’ve done this I just blew my clk 550 waiting too long to replace the intake I’m still hurt
Got a question I just replace my intake but still got p2004 code. What would be the next check. I can move the arms with my finger and everything turns. I have tested the wires for solenoids middle has power. When I give it power with my scan tool one wire grounds out on the left other wire just gets power! Did I get a bad solenoid?
Had yoy get solution?
You’re a god send 🙏🏼💯
Is it possible to replace the lever without removing the whole manifold?
No
eBay has a runner kit replacement for it real inexpensive
link to kit?

Are you in Sacramento?
TY Bryan
Damn, that sucks. Have the same problem, but forget that. I'll just take it too the shop lol

Muito obrigado pelo vídeo.
Damn you badass Brian
There is a kit rather than buying a entire new intake.
eBay has a rebuilt kit for also its metal
If you disconnected fuel hose then not need to remove injections from intake but remove and clean those after removing
If you are replacing the intake manifold like I'm doing in this video, remove the fuel rail from the manifold!
Definitely it should be removed in any case, but not before it's taken off from the car
@@Project_88 Lol!
Doesn't look like it's made very well.
It's not. Too much plastic in a hot engine bay is always a bad idea if you ask me!
OMG are you KIDDING me? You spend who knows how much on a car like that and that happens. I'm going to guess a new intake manifold from the dealer is 3k. I'm curious how you do in the aftermarket or scrap yard.
Aftermarket $390
Genuine part $850
Junkyard $300
@@BryansGarage951 Hey, that's not too bad! I hope the problem has been fixed on the next one.
Stop telling all your friends Mercedes is a money pit when you know nothing of the prices on parts
You can just buy the intake runner control arms made out of aluminum...Mercedes are junk I constantly work on them way to many issues
Can't see a damn thing
