The 20 Most UNFAIR Playable Characters In Video Games

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 26 ก.ค. 2024
- If you pick any of these video game characters, you're just being unfair. For this list, we’ll be looking at playable video game characters whose overpowered mechanics, feats, and stats make them broken powerhouses. If a character in an online game was nerfed, they were still considered as long as they were unfairly strong at some point. Our countdown of unfair playable characters in video games includes Sentinel from “Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes” (2000), Yoda from “Soulcalibur IV” (2008), Anakin Skywalker from “Star Wars Battlefront II” (2017), Bastion from “Overwatch” (2016), and more! Which of these characters did you hate going up against? And which ones did you always choose? Let us know in the comments!

Mega Rayquaza, I still remember it like a yesterday how hard it was trying to catch Rayquaza in Pokémon Omega Ruby. Pokémon Omega Ruby is really nostalgic game for me because it was my first Nintendo 3DS game what I've got easily over 10 years ago back in a good old days 2013 when I've got 3DS in my birthday. Tthat's why Pokémon Omega Ruby is the best Pokémon game and 1 of my favourite games of all time. I love gen 3 Hoenn Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. 🔥🐉🌊🐋
Galactus
Is Snake a Viable Option due to some Good Moves? Idk I'm a Snake Main in Ultimage and Brawl
Leroy Smith, Akuma, Meta Knight and Bayonetta
ExAgunimon From Digimon Battle Spirit 2!I Got 1700 D-Spirits On Hard With Him,No Cheats!Strongest Character In The Series!Susanoomon Red And Blue Firebeam FTW!
The funniest part about Oddjob is that back in 2019, one of the original game devs actually confirmed that if you used him in multiplayer, you were actually cheating xD
In the movie, "Ready Player One", the mysterious virtual world designer had allegedly considered Goldeneye 64 to be his favorite FPS and his favorite mode was playing Oddjob with Slappers only. I remember hearing that and thinking "Geez no wonder this guy had no friends. He plays games like a cheap cheating @$$h××e!"
I don't get why though as if you remember once you unlocked all the characters all the way at the end is moonraker female and she's the same size as oddjob.
@@slenderman2745 Oddjob was the more known example. Name and all.
@@Kamina.D.Fierce tis true. Still though if people payed attention then they wouldn't have had that problem or just use a well timed remote or proximity mine haha.
@slenderman2745 It's not just the weapons but the mode. My example for instance was the guy in Ready Player One playing in Slappers Only... as Oddjob... I'm sorry but that just makes me immediately consider him to be an @$$hole because I know from experience how pathetically cheap that combo is.
A few more mentions:
1. Gon in Tekken 3
2. Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 3
3. SS4 Goku in DB Final Bout
Dry Bones from Mario kart DS should also be mentioned
Shao Kahn’s not playable in MK3.
@@TheSixteen60Yes he is when you put the Kombat code in. And he's playable for Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Playstation
Noob Saibot and Smoke in pretty much all of the Mortal Kombat games.
@@mazengwe28 not in MK11
Here are a few more mentions.
1) Yoshi/Egg 1, ROB/ROB-LGS, and Dry Bones/Dry Bomber - Mario Kart DS (2005)
2) Rosalina and Luma - Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (2014)
3) Funky Kong/Flame Runner and Daisy/Mach Bike - Mario Kart Wii (2008)
4) Metal Mario/B Dasher/Red Tires/Flower Glider - Mario Kart 7 (2011)
5) Talonflame - Pokemon X and Y (2013)
6) Landorus Therian Forme - Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 (2012)
7) Zacian Crowned Sword - Pokemon Sword and Shield (2019)
8) Ultra Necrozma - Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (2017)
9) Zygarde Complete Forme - Pokemon Sun and Moon (2016)
10) Eternamax Eternatus - Pokemon Sword and Shield (2019)
11) Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre - Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (2014)
12) Petey Piranha and King Boo - Mario Kart Double Dash (2003)
Eternamax Eternatus is not playable.
Rosa and luma wasn’t that op
this reminds me of something from an vidoe:
a lousy old game called "Sonic Racing".
you can probably guess who it was...
Super Sonic.
@@ericb3157 That "Sonic Racing" game you're talking about is Sonic R, a Sega Saturn game released in 1997. Anyway, Super Sonic in Sonic R is an almost guaranteed win if you use him correctly.
Akamaru from Naruto Class of Ninja series is an honorable mention.
Also, what tends to be the most consistent sign that a character is too broken or overpowered in competitive multiplayer games is the character being tiny. Which in turn causes them to be a hard to hit target.
"Scarred flashbacks to the various losses to Rugel in his various forms during the final boss fights of many SNK games including SVC2 come flooding back" "excuse me for a moment." "Goes somewhere to starting screaming in insane rage"
I need to know who caught that Rayquaza with a poke ball he needs to be studied
@dhwanthony In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, seeing as it was required for main story progression, Rayquaza has a much higher catch rate in those games. In any other game( aside from emerald) this would be impressive.
@@conallohaodain7921 thank you for that clarification
Looks like Flanders was doing a lot more than laying the smackdown on Homer lml 5:01
I was definitely glad to see Yoda, Ivan Ooze, and Metaknight on this list. I wouldn't expect less, but sone of these require more digging into obscurity than some might do, so I appreciate the effort!
It didn't need to be here, but I remember when my days as a SNES owner were changed by being able to unlock Motaro, in one of the UMK3; he brought his projectile immunity along for the ride. It was annoying, but this comes up because my brother, who got sick and tired of losing to me, demanded that I let him use Motaro, to beat my Scorpion. I did, and since Motaro is immune to projectiles, and I felt teleporting wasn't as safe here, I brought up my combo game. I'm not as good there, so he did almost beat me, but I won, and in a fit of rage, he slammed my only turbo controller against his chair, and broke it. I wasn't able to ever replace it, and that loss irritated me for some time.😊
Whoever caught the Rayquaza with a regular Pokeball is as OP as it gets!
Of course Flanders' special deals the highest damage in the game. He's getting backup from GOD. 😂😂
Stupid Sexy Flanders
God I remember Bayo in smash 4, it was a nightmare and I’d normally only last a few seconds against her online
An honorable mention goes to Steve in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. People find him annoying to fight against because of how broken he is. He can place blocks at will, upgrade his smash attacks by crafting stronger swords, can recover from anywhere with his elytra, you get the idea. If you’re planning on making a top *30* version of this video, I’d highly recommend including him.
Where’s Vergil in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3???? He’s a freaking monster
I wouldn’t call him a monster as you’ll eventually figure out that people who use him technically fight using the same style of attacks.
When Ned Flanders and Gill (SFIII) both found out they have Resurrection ability.
Gill: "Did we just become best friends?!"
Ned: "Yup!"
Homer: Stupid Flanders
You forgot to mention how Meta Knight has a multiple air jump plus a glide, making him very hard to knock out of the arena.
Sora pretty much is difficult to knock out as well.
Honorable mentions: Jin Kazama (Tekken 4), Steve Fox (Tekken 5), Alpha 152 (Dead or Alive 5), Steve (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), Akamaru (Naruto Clash of Ninja 2), Hol Horse (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future), Doc (Def Jam: Fight for New York), Shadow Naoto Shirogane (Persona 4 Arena/Ultimax), Gon (Tekken 3), Devil (Tekken 2), M. Bison (Street Fighter Alpha 3), Batgirl (Injustice Gods Among Us), Sheeva (Mortal Kombat 11), General Zod (Injustice Gods Among Us), Cyrax (Mortal Kombat 9), Acidic Alien (Mortal Kombat X), Starfire (Injustice 2), Kratos (Mortal Kombat 9), Spectral Ermac (Mortal Kombat X) & RoboCop (Mortal Kombat 11)
Smoke -> Mk3 and Ultimate Mk3
Noob Saibot (Mortal Kombat 9)
But what about elena? (Ultra Street Fighter 4)
Noob Saibot - MK Trilogy
Missed out on Eyedol from the SNES/Arcade Killer Instinct.
Motaro from mk trilogy n64 and ps.. His grab attack was so annoying and his teleportation too.. fighting as him was hard since he was a secret hidden character too
Kabal from MK 3 his speed and combos could obliterate half a health bar in seconds
Honorable mentions: Steve in Smash Ultimate and the Kensa .52 Gal in Splatoon 2.
Steve may not have gotten a nerf, but I think Pichu was stronger. It was the only nerfed character. Other characters like K. Rool, Inkling, Palutena didn't receive such significant nerfs.
"Judge me by my size, do you?"
In goldeneye when somebody picked odd-job I picked nick nack he was smaller and nobody knew because he was the last character in the line
Paratroopa and diddy kong are best combo for double dash. Diddy in the back so you get giant banana when in first and paratroopa in the back when trailing so you can get triple red shells.
15:43 he caught the strongest pokemon wit a regular pokeball
well i mean its a fitting lore for Anakin to be OP
Yeah ikr lol
7:00 ohh monkey king, i literally had 17 win streaks
Honestly I've played a lot of these games and every time the monkey king was in a game like that he is overpowered especially with cloning abilities
The only game were he is not very powerful pic is in the game smite
I'm surprised that Dry Bones from Mario Kart DS and Peachette from Mario kart 8 deluxe wasn't mentioned here
Edit: Oops! forgot Yoshi from that game.
Funnily enough, in my first play-through of Omega Ruby I completed the entire main story without a single loss. When I got to the Delta episode, Raquaza gave me my first loss when I tried to catch him.
They left out sephiroth in smash ultimate
I'm convinced the developers got Odd Job and Nick Nack mixed up, it's the only thing that makes sense
Steve is also an unfair playable video game character from Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Same with Hero
Cervantes in the original soulblade. He always used the same combo over and over and could kick your arse very easily 😡
Goldeneye on License to Kill mode, pick Odd Job and never use a gun, and still win
Picking any of the monkeys from timesplitters future perfect. Quick and small. They would dominate even when it was a cpu
You could also lump Jinjo with Oddjob since it has the same qualities in Tooie’s Shootout Mini-Game
Worth mentioning:
True Ogre (Tekken 3, Tag Tournament 1-2),
Youkai (Samurai Showdown V)
Mewtwo Y upon release in Pokémon Unite.. he's been nerfed now but damn did he rule the game for a few months
I’m surprised Kazuya and Minecraft Steve we’re not on here from smash ultimate
19:31 "Witch" of these characters did you hate going up against? Bayonetta, maybe?
As a Pokemon fan, I'm shocked Mega Rayquaza didn't end up #1 on the list. Being the only Pokemon banned from Ubers is absurdly impressive.
actually, Zacian was banned from Ubers in gen 8 as well.
You forgot M. Bison Street Fighter 3
I never played Goldeneye with friends. Metaknight is my first thought when someone says broken character cause playing against him feels impossible if the player is that skilled.
Speaking of Tekken 7 headed going up against Akuma
Scott Norton in WCW vs nWo: World Tour… ya know the first one…. If he blocks a punch, he automatically turns it into an un-reversible power bomb, no other inputs, just straight into an automatic unstoppable powerbomb, it’s only a matter of time before he KO’ed his opponent… and if your friends knew the joy stick trick, you know KOs were the only way to actually win a match against a live person in that game
There were 2 things I knew when I finally got Brawl and those were Meta Knight was the best character and Subspace Emissary was more difficult than it looked
Mariokart double dash could be a lot. Bowsers shells are impossible to mjss and destroy ALL green and red shells. The love heart protects and gives you items, in theory giving you triple red shells. Etc.
"Brigitte" reminds me of a short vireo i saw called something like "players exist to break the game."
or was it "i broke [character name] "
some character had two abilities, she could throw slow-moving balls of energy that could slowly heal allies, or balls that would slowly harm enemies...
BUT, these two abilities were poorly balanced...
they would fade away after traveling a certain distance FROM WHERE THEY STARTED, but they would also BOUNCE off of obstacles!
so, if a clever player fired them at JUST the right angle, they would keep bouncing INDEFINITELY, and she could have LOTS of them bouncing at once!
doing this in a room with an objective that needs to be defended was absurdly unfair!
Should’ve added scorpion in injustice 1. That dude was damn near impossible to beat because he can teleport behind you!
Git gud lol
Man I’m just happy that kronika from MK11 was never an unlockable character in the game, she was an absolute nightmare to face
Overwatch 2016 Bastion was the literal worst.
I always wondered if they mistakenly gave Oddjob the size of Nicknack from Man with the golden gun. Also couldn’t you just play crouched to fight Oddjob? My friends and I didn’t use Oddjob.
You couldn’t really crouch and move. Had to hold down Down on the d pad
Legit any EX Pokémon in Unite
You should NEVER mess with these Hardcore Video Game Heavy Hitters: Leroy Smith from *Tekken 7,* Akuma from the *Street Fighter* franchises, Meta Knight of the *Kirby* franchises and Bayonetta herself! You definitely DON'T want to cross with these guys, and NEVER screw with them.
Not a character, but the Bee shield/Conference Call duo in BL2 was simply ridiculous pre nerf
Honorable mention: Metal Sonic. Sonic Adventure 2 multiplayer grind stage.
Most people probably don’t remember Banjo-Pilot for the Game Boy Advance. Once you unlock Bottles the mole it is IMPOSSIBLE to catch him!!! If you choose to play as him instead, the game is too easy! He broke the fun of the game!
Honorable Mentions:
*Wall-Knight - Plants vs Zombies: Heroes
-Yes. This is real. I'm including an entry from a mobile card game spin-off. Many of his decks are based around healing himself and dragging out the match for as long as possible. And his special power is making him invincible for a single turn.
*Eelektross - Pokemon Series
-This electric-type pokemon can be a pain to fight because it has the ability, levitate, which makes the user immune to ground-type moves, the only weakness of electric-type pokemon. This effectively means that Eelektross has no weaknesses unless you use a certain strategy to hit it's weakness like teaching earthquake to a pokemon with the mold breaker ability.
*Dr. Coyle - ARMS
-She has the ability to fly AND block while in the the air. Oh, and she can also turn invisible!
*Trace - Metroid Prime Hunters
-His weapon, The Imperialist, is a poweful laser rifle with a zoom function, allowing him to snipe at foes from afar. Now you might be thinking, "Couldn't we just use the laser shots from Trace's rifle to track where he is a la The End from MGS3?" Well... yes and no. Because Trace can turn invisible when standing still AND he has his own version of the morph ball, except he turns into a bug-like creature and can lunge at you or skitter off to find a new place to hide.
Two big ones you missed are Mortal Kombat's Noob Saibot and Smoke.
Fun fact about Pet Shop, he's not even the best character in HFTF. Kakyoin is thanks to his ridiculous nets.
Hey, MojoPlays. Can you please do a list of the Top 20 Games To Play If You Love Sonic the Hedgehog? I have a couple of examples of these games you guys should mention.
Examples:
Freedom Planet
Freedom Planet 2
Jazz Jackrabbit series
Zool
High Seas Havoc
Spark the Electric Jester
Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure
Socket
The easiest way to deal with players who like to juggle during fights in Smash Bros is with Kirby's rock smash.
The over usage of 'Nerf/Nerfed' makes me think this was written by a non-gamer who heard this term and then just used it to say 'look I play games... see I know the terminology'
The accursed Tynamo evolution line is totally unfair in the VGC circuit due to the ability Levitate which makes Ground-type moves useless. The only way Electric-type pokemon should be immune to Ground-type moves is if the Electric-type is paired with the Flying-type, NO EXCEPTIONS!
reminds me of Zapdos from the early Pokémon games.
Oddjob vs. Jaws, It was just unfair XD.
Bo Jackson in techno bowl on the NES. For my friends and I no one was allowed to be Oakland because Bo could just run the ball every time and nobody was going to catch or stop Bo
eyedol also has an infinite hit combo you can use
Few other ones:
Goro/Kintaro/Shao Kahn - MK
Shin akuma and God rugal - capcom vs SNK
Orochi - KOF
Geese howard - Fatal fury
My picks:
Goro, Motaro, Kintaro, Shao Kahn (Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the original PlayStation)
Onslaught (Unlockable character in the first Marvel vs Capcom)
Galactus (Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3's Galactus mode)
Seth (Street Fighter IV)
Gill (Street Fighter III)
Ogre, True Ogre, Gon* (Tekken 3 for the original PlayStation)
*For the same reason as Soul Calibur IV's Yoda: tiny character whom high and some mid attacks just completely whiff on.
if you think bastion is unfair you are bad at the game
he was often a "troll" pick in most of overwatch at higher rank together with torbjorn
meaning he was just a low tier and low tiers is objectly fair and it feels unfair for the low tier character against higher tier
It's weird, because as I recall it, playing as Oddjob was usually a disadvantage. Sure, he was smaller, but that just meant his head was exactly at the normal height you were firing at, making headshots on him all the easier. It was Jaws that had the advantage, as his extra height meant that for him, *everyone else* was at headshot height, and he himself much hard to headshot.
Jaws was definitely a handicap when playing on Golden Gun mode. I remember when I first played and I picked Jaws because I liked the character. My friends all laughed at me.
I'm going to argue that in double dash the red Koopa trooper and Toad were the power couple. Gold mushrooms are legit
Played a lot of overwatch and don’t remember ever having a real problem with bastion. Must be a low elo thing
Rain in MK3. Lightning strike, round house kick, combo, repeat.
What about Vergil un Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, talking about a boss being playable, even only him feels like a team of 3 characters.
Picking Atlanta Falcons in Madden 2004 😁
I heard Noob Saibot in UMK3 (Genesis port) is extremely broken. He can infinite combo you and it’s insane to look at. I sure hope that banned him in competitive play.
Shao khan or motaro in mk ultimate 3/trilogy should have gotten a honorable mention
How bout Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl? I refuse to let anyone play as the Raiders in that game because of him.
No Bo Jackson on Tecmo Bowl? Oh come on!
How is Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat Trilogy missing here?
Bo Jackson in Tecmo
If you guys think Meta Knight is bad, his Mirror is worse and I’m glad he will NEVER be put in Smash Bros Ultimate
Bruh the A.I. on MK 2
Petey and King Boo could use all the special items so their more powerful
They're Wildcards for sure, but the Troopas are more consistent.
Plus those little turtles can fit in any Kart.
Seems "mojo" could've "plays"'d more of these games and got clips that actually matched their script
Seeing characters getting nerfed cause too many disadvantages
Oddjob is the bane of my existence
15:24 so mega rayquaza does use a stone it just ate it in the story
You wanna talk broken? How about Blaziken with Speed Boost? It became the first (and to date only) fully evolved starter to be banned to Ubers, it was too strong for anything in OU to handle. It has never returned to OU since its ban.
Gill from 3rd Strike should be on here.
After hearing all these, and not a Player of Dota, Monkey King would have had me raging needless to say
Lion only pings when the enemies move
Odd job was an easy kill all you had to do was aim down on the c pad and strafe right to left an since they're all head shots he drops fairly quick lol
No Alpha 152 from Dead or Alive 4, she's a re-skin of Kasumi but on performance enhancing drugs(PED), people picking her as a playable character you can chain unlimited combos and you'd be at a distinct disadvantage and no chance to fight back and downright OP broke character.
Don't forget her devastating command grab that made you wish that game had meters...
@@AlphaPWNY DOA4 did have competitive tournament back in the day and Alpha 152 was banned outright and due to the fact all her moves and combos were too OP broken most importantly unfair in which she doesn't meet competitive tournament rules criteria.
Has no one mentioned Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat 2 he was way faster than any other character especially on sega
Darn, the og 2016 bastion
I’ll go a different genre. Zell, final fantasy 8. Just use the first two moves in his combo over and over on limit breaks and pump out massive damage
Unlimited fist ❤ could rack up a million damage if you were good at it
Mecha Godzilla/Mecha King Ghidora in Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee
DOTA stands for Defense of the Ancients
I’m gonna add Enigma from Jet Moto 2
